    Even though the 0 mm undercut has always been horrible fashion choice the side fade + "slicing" blend is essential to reduce unintentional monk look and stray hair pointing up later on. Seems hard to do it for yourself though..

    Great video, you’re teaching methods are really easy to digest.
    When doing a fade or short back and sides, how do you know what guard/length to do for the first part of the cut where you’re “debulking”, where you used a 1.5 guard around the parietal ridge?
    Thanks

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  Рік тому +1

      It’s not a set in stone rule. But you’re almost always safe to use a 1.5 guard. It tends to be a good length to blend towards

      I think this would be really hard to achieve on your own. Even for me looking straight at the head it takes a lot of focus

  • @DeMarkestee

    it is a undercut i personally would begin with a 2 half open instead of the 1,5 so the it fades a little bit more into the top. But nice video keep it up!

    I always want to have this kind of texture look, but it never works out. Does this only work on slightly curl hair? I have Asian straight hair in black.

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  Рік тому +2

      Straight hair can stick out strongly and this length of undercut might not work although something longer like a 2 block cut would work.

    Someone finally got that closeup lens? Mike, not sure if you saw it but Reuzel Education's latest video (Paul Dunning) featured that razor you used many months ago. Can you believe I can't find those Parker combs anywhere in town? I'm not a huge fan of the fade; I prefer the taper but you did a great job.

      Hey Bruce I can’t find that ruezal video. I’m following ruezal but can’t find ruezal education. The razor holder you can find on Amazon there are dozens of versions and they are fairly cheap. The one I use is an AMA feather razor.

      I’m not a huge fan of neck strips. Although I believe in the US they are mandatory in some states.
      Re scissors. Quartered steels are expensive although they have a website called scissor sub where you can subscribe for a lower cost.
      The only other scissor brand I use is Osaka but they aren’t much cheaper.
      Years ago I used jaguars which are decent but they cost you more in the long run as they go blunt quite easliy

    it's seriously so annoying hearig everyone call these things clippers as they don't clip.
    they're shaving machines...

    • @ozzyavro9498
      @ozzyavro9498 Рік тому

      WRONG ! Shaving-machine, Definitions from The Century Dictionary. noun In leather manufacturing, a machine for shaving the flesh side of hides or skins by means of a cylinder fitted with blades. Electric shaver (also known as the dry razor, electric razor, or simply shaver) is a razor with an electrically powered rotating or oscillating blade. Electric hair clippers work in a similar way as manual ones, but are driven by an electric motor which makes the blades oscillate from side to side.

    • @beautyneytiri
      @beautyneytiri Рік тому

      @@ozzyavro9498 a clip is something you use to get hair out of the way, or to clip anything else.
      it never means to cut or to shave something.
