Ive been cutting mens hair for over 30 years and own a salon in North London. Your videos still get me excited about mens hair and its so good seeing you show how much more there is to mens hair rather than a barbers skin fade. Really appreciated your comment about "what are you looking at when you look at me" and the way others perceive how we look. Critical thinking isn't only about world problems and very, very few stylists/barbers/hair dressers actually say "no" when asked to cut hair into a style they know is going to be inappropriate. I've even asked for an honest opinion and to not be a victim of "I could have told you". That takes real professional integrity I think and should actually be taught to students. This was a perfect tutorial for the client and much appreciated. Great job as always. Cheers
A genuine question…why aren’t there more barbers like you, about? I have had to learn to cut my husband’s and children’s hair over the years because we were always disappointed after a visit to the barber or hairdresser. My husband suffers from anxiety, sitting in a barber’s chair is a big deal, he has a double crown and quite straight hair, unforgiving hair, he walks in to many different barbers and always walks out with so much product in his hair because they don’t know how to cut a double crown, and they need to hide their mistakes, and it takes ages to grow back in. I learnt a lot from your tutorial on double crowns. This video was perfect for curly hair, my middle son has this hair, and his haircuts were always a success, very forgiving. Now as I get older, 56, I am loosing my confidence, I haven’t cut my children’s hair for many years, thank goodness and my husband’s grooming is still down to me, beard as well, I need to find a ‘you’. Sorry for the essay but it truly is a problem, not everyone wants or suits a fade, the way you cut the back of this young man’s hair was so complimentary. And it isn’t just good shoes that maketh the man, a good haircut does too! Two lessons I taught my children, good shoes, good hair (well a few dodgy mum cuts thrown in for good measure)! 😂
THis is the first time I've seen someone have a process and a plan for giving you actual advice and an actual practical haircut when you ask "tell me what to do, recommend something". Really. And it turned out amazing.

this guy blows me away, serious respect to Dan I have the same skull outline as this guy where it slopes up and the barbers never seem to acknowledge it so i end up with less length at the front which is where you want to most!
I watched the video as my husband also has wavy hair and he does not love the style that barbers usually gives and I recently started to cut my husbands' hair, but I was looking for how to cut for wavy style. Last week, I cut my husbands hair with his technique, and now my husband liked his hair, plus he got complemented by his two colleagues. I wanted to thank you for this video. I admire how you love your job with passion.
Hats off to Dan for getting his health together. Going through all the vids and he looks so much better than the old vids. Noticeably healthier. Love to see it.

You sir, are worth your weight in gold ! True Genius ! At first I was entranced by your accent, but then by your conversation skills, and then taken with your professional passion in general. Then watching your meticulous detail style of cutting ....WOW ! Your philosophy and artisticness are sooo On Point ! This client needs to come back to you after it grows in to give him an even better cut. { i could see the limitations of what you were after, but still gave a beautiful cut.} I had curly hair growing up and had to blow dry my hair simply because the hair cutter didn't know didley-squat about curl. Then, one day I saw a lady with my kind of hair and got her stylist name and went there. Whole different look AND way of life ! If i lost the stylist for some reason, i went to cutting my own hair very short....till i found someone like you who knows facial aesthetics and style, A VERY RARE COMBO !
I am a woman but I totally agree with what you said about having a hair cut that you can style yourself the next day ! There is nothing more irritating than not being able to make your hair look nice the next day !! Love watching your videos.
True. I'm female as well, but have really short hair. And just for that it is not a very forgiving style to have, if it's not cut precisely ;) I always tell them, I need it to be done in a way, that I can put my head down while blowdrying it and then put my fingers through with the smallest amount of product, and with only that - it should look good. ^^
WOW...love this haircut !! I can watch Dan Gregory cut hair all day. Personable, talented with a great head of hair himself. Men's hair styles have come a long way. Great video. Thanks.
If I had a haircut by a barber like this I’d never even think of going anywhere else ever again I’m 28 and still have yet to find a good barber that can replicate a cut or even do a cut I want I’m better at cutting my own hair in a mirror 😑
Couldn’t agree more with your comments on the psychology of haircuts! I give a bunch of my buddies cuts, and I did one of my best friends for the first time ever. It was nothing crazy, but because of his head shape I took the fade up a bit Higher than he normally went, and because he wears glasses, having the hair start above the glasses lines, rather than having thicker sideburns, completely changed the outline of his head. There was nothing special about the haircut, really, but he said he got more compliments that ever before. I just explained to him that I gave him a cut that suited his face shape. 👍
I have been watching you cut many types of hair on men. And the way you cut hair is just amazing. They always look so neat and stylish. Love the accent,,,, your knowledge on cutting hair is outstanding. I enjoy your tutorials. So I give you 2 thumbs up.
Enjoy watching him cut hair. It’s so ASMR. The guy kinda looks scared but seemed to calm down when you mentioned cutting off dry hair so it was “healthier.” Great job.
This channel is a revelation to me. I'm now old, but I remember taking my son for haircuts, and there were pictures on the wall of 5 haircuts to chose from. My husband just got "regular" haircuts. I had no idea that there were barbers out there that were so talented, caring, and informed. Or that there were men out there who cared that much about their hair. I really thought it was exclusively women's territory. I really appreciated the philosophy at around 14;00. I still don't think I've ever found a hair stylist who really knew what would suit me. At least they never explained what they were doing, or why it suited me. This is wild!
Wow...this was so good, he looks fantastic...and he will have several styling options. You are so patient and really take the time to educate the person in your chair. You are truly a master at your craft.

But it was only really when I found thsi channel over a year ago that I REALLY statted doing better and doing professional quality. These videos are insanely helpful, and should be official education vids at beauty schools.
For a haircut of this level, I'd pay $40 maybe even $50... hairstylist in my area charge $35 for just the scissors, add another $12 for the clippers, & another $8 for the edges... all in 6-8 minutes. They'll take longer, however it's because they're chatting with others. In reality I don't know what I would pay... never had a dedicated to their craft hairstylist.
It's great when you find a barber who can support you when growing your hair, and in this case, listen to exactly what you want. The client seems like a cool lad.
I’ve been watching you for a little while now. I ran across you by coincidence, but you are great at what you do, barber, hairstylist, the whole 9 yards. No disrespect to you spouse, but you’re also very easy on the eyes as well 😊. Last thought…Don’t lose anymore weight you’re good right there. God bless you and keep up the great work! 👍🏽😇
I work at a quick type franchise and people are always surprised when I start such a thorough consultation because I actually care to shape their hair to their face and lifestyle. Blows my mind that people are out here cutting hair that’s not focused on what fits the client
Such a nice, natural haircut. It matches really well the shape of the head and face. Its so natural that you cannot notice that this guy just had a fresh haircut. Im impressed.
Very handsome manly man with a great speaking voice. He will look great in many different hair styles and this cut looks great. As to the barber I cant wait to see him rock a ponytail.
It simply amazes me having been a Barber 💈 in the USA and seeing what a farce it’s become. The scope of Barbering is inclusive of the head, face, and neck. We were taught facials, scalptials, permanent waving, relaxers, hair colour, straight razor shaves, beard line ups, and neck shaves. We learned to cut every haircut on men, women, and children. A growing trend now is to turn the client away from the mirror. Our stations were set up with a solid mirror running the front length of the clinical floor. With mirrors behind running the length of the Clinic wall as well. We learned ethnic hair, we were busy as all get out. Attending the International Hair Show in NYC, NY. If you walk into a Barber 💈 College it’s all fade clones, with troll beards. Everything in life runs in cycles. Short, medium, long hair will return and there’s going to be middle aged Barbers returning to college for more training. Or another profession, it’s that simple. They no longer ask if you want your eyebrows, nasal, and ear hair trimmed. 😳 Education is by no means cheap and these students are being rooked by instructors. That only know fades.
If only Dan knows how many videos i've spent watching in a full seating, doing absolutely nothing else and just soaking in every bit of chat and technique.
Great advice, great insight. At my last haircut, I let a stylist talk me into a cut I did not want, AND he talked me into shaving my beard of 4 years. I left very disappointed. I am currently in the process of re-growing everything. (The guy in the chair has such a GREAT face. I feel like any haircut would look good on him!)
Love seeing your cutting technique. I also enjoyed seeing how you educated your client. We as stylist need to remember to educate rather than talk about a new bar we went to. Thanks for the reminder. K
Man, I wish I lived closer to you. I know your across the Big Pond and I'm in Wisconsin, USA. I wish there was someone around here like you. You are a Master Barber! Fantastic work. Doug in Green Bay, WI
Dan, you only do mens' hair? You should do womens' hair too. I like it that you take your time and you try to advise the customer on what to do and ask him what he wants and you do a wonderful job and you make the client feel at ease with you.
This guy is amazing. So thoughtful and practical and also a magician with this tools. Ive never ha an experience like this. Theres always a ton of anxiety going to get my haircut.
The one thing that I have learned over my 40 some years of cutting is that you NEVER do "whatever you want to do"...as the customer says. The only exception would be those very few customers that followed you those 40 some years ( in my case )...and you know even with that much trust, you still know when to stop. With a repeat or new customer that you see maybe not that frequently, you must read what and ask questions to find out the solution. For me I start with what they DON'T want and go from there. This was a fantastic haircut and finish. I must say that I now (within the last few weeks) , have adapted quite a bit of your cutting patters to my cutting and find I get a more uniform cut. Thanks so much!!
Holy smokes, get a compliment?! Never in my life. I think I need to find a new barber, the face shape could be a game changer as I always think my hair cut just accentuates how big and round my head is! 😂 never mind a style to suit it!
I think I am going to go to a barbers from now on as not one lady hairdresser in a salon has been able to cut my hair right as he logically describes here!
This video proves that with a little skill and time, you can take an already good looking guy with great hair and make him a good looking guy with great hair.
Great haircut one more time. I love the time you spend discussing before you grab your scissors and how you take into consideration head shape and proportions.

Dan....You are a magician with a scissor and a comb. I love watching you work your magic on your clients.
You are one good looking guy ❤
I'm glad he didn't do the ugly skin fade. This looks so good and natural looking on him.
Man, I wish I lived closer to you. I know your across the Big Pond and I'm in Wisconsin, USA. I wish there was someone around here like you. You are a Master Barber! Fantastic work. Doug in Green Bay, WI
Beautiful, natural, polished look. Love it.
Dan, you only do mens' hair? You should do womens' hair too. I like it that you take your time and you try to advise the customer on what to do and ask him what he wants and you do a wonderful job and you make the client feel at ease with you.
Boy that's a damn good cut for his face. Fantastic job. You really know what to do for each model.
This guy is amazing. So thoughtful and practical and also a magician with this tools. Ive never ha an experience like this. Theres always a ton of anxiety going to get my haircut.
He resembles Chris Hemsworth so much. Respect for dodging the skin fade
Yeah, can see that!
he looks more like the deep from the boys , specially after the cut

@h2oussama988 hell yes exactly what i was thinking
Dan makes me want to fly from Canada to England just for a haircut. What he says at 14:00 is absolute gold.
❤️
Holy smokes, get a compliment?! Never in my life. I think I need to find a new barber, the face shape could be a game changer as I always think my hair cut just accentuates how big and round my head is! 😂 never mind a style to suit it!
Love the way you pulled out the curls with styling at the end. He looks really good.
I think I am going to go to a barbers from now on as not one lady hairdresser in a salon has been able to cut my hair right as he logically describes here!
this is what perfection looks like
This video proves that with a little skill and time, you can take an already good looking guy with great hair and make him a good looking guy with great hair.
I would say “a lot of skill”!
One of my fav cuts on the channel. And the guy has awesome hair to boot. Nicely done!!
wow this guy is so handsome! the eyes, the beard, the hair, the bone structure, everything!
I agree. I think he would also look spectacular clean shaven.
Dan u looked so much better with your old longer hearstyle
Loved the way u flicked it left back or right it just set so well
Great haircut one more time. I love the time you spend discussing before you grab your scissors and how you take into consideration head shape and proportions.
This is what you call professional talented artist
Wish I had a barber like this guy in the US. Well done!
Man, Dan has some nice watches. He had a Tudor not too long ago and the last two watches he had were a Rolex Explorer with an oyster flex bracelet and now this Rolex Air King.
So true what you’re saying about the haircut to fit the shape of the face and everything I love it do you cook women’s hair we did!! Love this channel. I am totally addicted.
That philosophy of a haircut works perfectly here! Amazing! Dan is the man!
Consultation is the key to a flattering/manageable hairstyle.
This video jus showing when u love your craft you will understand the art of hair and client consultation. Very skilled. This was great and helped a lot. Thank you
Great haircut. Finished yet so natural.
Fantastic how he talks you to the haircut! Learning a lot of it!! Big thanks from the Netherlands 🙌🏽❤
I love this guy's curls! Great cut!
Quality that is. Genius Dan, some eye you’ve got. 1 in about 10 thousand barbers you’ll get a haircut that quality, won’t see cuts like it in shops
i love Dan's hair, if i go grey i want it to look as good as his
Dan looks like he lost a bunch of weight! I hope he is healthy!! Really appreciate sharing your art, Dan! Btw you went full kingmaker on this lad
Can I just say, you have lost a hell of a lot of weight my man! Hope you can give some insight as to your personal weight loss plan. Amazing and detailed video as always! Nice one!
Yes, both very handsome! Outstanding hair cut. Can’t wait to show this to my son. He has curly hair so, I know my son will find this so helpful!
Can you please tell me which T-edger and hair products you used?
The brand of trimmer is literally called “the pissed off barber”
Looking into getting those soon
Great hair cut and excellent customer service
Can’t wait to see what you do with your longer hair.
Nobody better than this guy absolutely top draw !!
Ive never understood this perspective to hairdressing - fascinating!
A gentleman is always groomed! ❤❤❤
Dan, congrats on your weight loss, hair looks great as well! ☝🏻
When you’re blessed with perfect hair
Thats a very difficult task yet you achieved great result 👏 Absolute winner 🏆
Two handsome men with great hair.
His hair looks amazing, & it looks great on him!! I love the short hair 💗. Always at your best Dan!!! Love your connection with your clients too 😊. U do amazing work!! I have watched a couple of other barbers, & u just make them look like amateurs. They need to come get lessons from u & learn from the best!!!🎉
And to think that this kinda service, up until very recently, was only available to women 😮 CRAZY! MEN ARE PEOPLE TOO! 😂 we want our barbers to tell us what makes us look and feel good, not just buzz it off.
