Assassin's Creed® Origins - The end of Khaliset

When you assassinate someone, you deliver them to the afterlife whether they are prepared or not. But also whether you yourself are ready or not. Bayek did not know that Khaliset was motivated in all her efforts by a promise to raise her daughter from the dead. While he might never have believed that lie, he certainly understood why she felt that way. A rare moment where Bayek realized he might have had pity on a target if he had only learned more about the situation.
