The spells that should be at the end of the list are Avada Kedavra, Crucio and Imperio. And why? Because these are the Unforgivable Curses and the character should not even learn them, let alone use them all the time. According to the lore using these spells in a serious context (meaning to other ends than pure educational purposes) can and often will end up with a trip to Askaban. It doesn't matter that these are the most powerfull spells in the game. Even learning them means the character is a Dark Wizard no better than Rookwood or Harlow, and actually using them means he's on Death Eater or Voldemort levels of Evil. PS: Protego is actually not required at all. Yes, it is very powerfull especially as a setup for Stupify, however I've seen many a Souls gamer who completely ignore the spell simply because they're so accustomed to using dodge rolls and they're doing absolutely fine. Because of the fact that you can completely replace using Protego by simply dodging out of the way I don't think it should be in the top spot.
For the room of requirement spells, they could have made a separate set of spell decks that can only appear while in the room of requirement. That way, we don't have to mess up our already existing spell decks.
Haha. I realize I argue the opposite later in the video, but at the bottom of the list...I decided to reward it more for NOT taking up one of my main spell slots 😅

@@funzombies_ yes both, that goes without saying. You can also add tier 1 Incendio boost to all equipment once you unlock the Loom. It's a cheap way to deal with many powerful enemies until you unlock better stuff.
Nice tip ! I found that one early too and used that combo for the entire play through. I assigned on of my 4 spell sets for 2 big damage combos. That and the ice spell combined with diffendo or bombardo
@@zackhayes1268 if you want a good 4 combo, try Accio > Depulso (or Repulso, whichever forces them down not away) > Glacius > Incendio. If you have all mastery talents for these it works even better ofc. Another funny combo I saw on some other guy's video is an easy way to deal with enemies near ridges, cliffs etc... you basically do Arresto Momento > Repulso (the one that throws stuff away), and watch your target get blown away and dying from the fall. This is even funnier if you take in account that the guy I'm talking about called this combo "Arrivederci Momento".
As a sadist, i turn enemies into barrels, levitate them over cliffs and when they turn back, winguarding leviosa lets go so i arresto momentum them in mid air since they face downward and let the timer run out so they fall to their deaths 🤷🏻♂️. I add a depulso in there sometimes for flavor
Admittedly it is brave to Taunt your opponent in this way before killing them since it gives others more time to rescue them. Remember that Slytherin refers to a high level of ambition, not necessarily evil.
It’s the best combat spell imo when upgraded you can spam basic cast and it continually damages and curses every enemy even without Avada it’ll take off a ton of health on enemies only issue is doesn’t work great on inferi
Love how they added spells like Reducto even though our character doesn’t use them. It’s nice to know they didn’t just completely forget they exist but gave them to our enemies instead to make them more unique
I think Basic Cast should be much higher in the list - it does a lot of work, and is by far the spell that is used most. I can't believe you ranked Flipendo - a spell I used like 12 times - above Basic Cast, which I used 1,000,000 times, and which is probably responsible for >50% of all damage to enemies.
Basic Cast is the most casted spell in the game, and when combined with Crucio or casted in between Force Spells, can turn most fights into a turkey shoot.
Yes, it is my most go-to spell! My main 4 are expelliarmus and transfiguration for immense adaptability and the arrest momentum - descendo combi, descendo also giving a means to break purples and arrest momentum usable to use petrificus totalus on hard enemies.
I honestly think lumos might be one of my favourite spells. I love the sound, I love how it lights up things (and helps against devilssnare) and it’s just so iconic. Walking at night in the castle with the wand in the air lighting up the entire corridor is just pure magic and nostalgia
People don't get how good Flipendo is. When upgraded it gives the curse effect to the target, making it a great combo starter. Something like Flipendo, Glaciate, Incendio, Bombarda does insane dmg
@RetroRaconteur It improves the spell a lot because it becomes the shortest CD curse application spell once you do that. In combo with avada kadavra spread or transfiguration curse chain it is crazy good.
@@dav2490 6x unforgivable guarantees a one shot on basically every enemy with Flipendo setting up the curse so fast. Flipendo is easily the most underrated spell in the game.
I just found out a few days ago about the accio spell adding the wingardium leviosa ability. I'm glad that saves up one of the spell slots. Wingardium leviosa is very situational as well.
Crucio should be higher as it is the best way to get groups of enemies cursed with its dark arts talent. In conjunction with Avada Kedavra and it’s talent you can wipe out massive groups at once. It’s probably the best combo in the game
I love using Confringo with not only the longer range for lighting torches, but if upgraded, the bolts seek other targets. This is excellent for those Inferius swarms where i can get a bunch of them burning and vulnerable after hitting just one.
I wish they added Draco Malfoy's "Serpensortia spell" from Chamber of Secrets. Would be awesome to summon snakes to attack your enemy, especially if you're a Slytherin.
The animation when you block a troll's club attack and Stupefy them has got to be one of the coolest and most satisfying I've seen in a good while; the way your character plants their feet while being pushed back and does that proper anime pose, cloak billowing behind them. Epic stuff
Crucio was probably my most used spell in the game. Definitely my #1. Especially when upgraded, it just has so much utility for crowd controlling and causing all the enemies to take a lot more damage from everything else. It also has a really good cooldown time unlike Avada Kedavra and Ancient Magic Throw. And you get it mid game so its used for a large portion of the game. My favorite spell was probably Flipendo so I'll put that as my #2. Crowd control, it curses when upgraded, and it has a fast cooldown. And its just fun. For my #3 I am going to go with Confringo. You get it very early in the game, it is a fire spell with long range, and when upgraded it is a excellent counter to Inferius groups which can be some of the more troubling opponents. My #4 spell is going to be Arresto Momentum for similar reasons as Flipendo.
Don't sleep on lumos, it has the shortest recharge time of all the spells. If you take the Focus potion talent you can spam it to keep essentially endless during combat pretty much obliterating the recharge time for you higher value spells such as curses or damage spells.
An underrated feature of Crucio is that its upgraded version also breaks shields with the autoseeking darts that emanate from the cursed enemy, therefore obliterating the need to match the shields with spells
The best part about Flipendo for me is that it can be upgraded to apply curses and it has by far the lowest cool down of all spells that can curse. So it's really useful if you upgrade Avada Kedavra because it helps maximize the enemies you can kill with one cast of Avada Kedavra
In my 100% playthrough on hard mode I probably used Protego about 20 times. It was only ever good against projectiles that you could use as an ancient magic throw directly after. Revelio was the true mvp of my playthrough.
@@ImNotAfraidOfTheDarkness Which makes sense, Crucio was absolutely used to torture people to death, like Neville's parents... So I'm not really sure what OP is going on about.
5:44 Incendio combos fantastically with accio. It is great early game. and if you get the spell talent for accio you can suck in multiple spiders/enemies and hit them all with it. I think It is a great spell to start the game. I like to combo accio, incendio, depulso and confringo. Works wonders against spiders and inferno.
In the mission where we rescue the dragon, there is a cutscene where the player uses long range incendio to burn the roof of the tent. Should have been an intended feature or an oversight.
I love how the spell wheels leave the combat style up to the player. Personal favs of mine are Glacius-Bombarda or Accio-Bombarda for further enemies followed by Diffindo to finish them.
Why does Alohamora turn into a mini game. It literally unlocks locked things (unless they're charmed locked) making it into a mini game seems redundant for what it does. It's not actually unlocking a lock it's forcing you to peep into said lock then picklock your way through it.
If you use expelliarmus on certain enemies their weapon will fly into the air and you can use ancient magic to fling their weapon back at them like you can do with other throwables in the game. Like on the goblins holding an axe, the spell makes their axe fly and you can fling it back at them dealing a lot of damage
I don't rank stupefy/protego that high as in the late game I stopped using it much. When you're surrounded by enemies and half the attacks are unblockable it's just safer to dodge. Also I'm colorblind and have a really hard time quickly seeing the difference between the yellow and red indicators for the attack types. And when you're at a point where you're constantly throwing spells it also doesn't always move cancel and you can get hit a lot trying to deflect. And you can block one attack but immediately be hit by another at the end of the animation while a roll will get you to safety. I just eventually always dodged and attacked unless I was one on one with a troll or boss enemy.
Don't theybhave colorblind options? Also the danger indicators for the orange and red look different with orange being just a regular circle and red has spikes or something on it
Yeah, I wonder if that’s something they could add in? Like anytime you enter the room, it’s just treated as 2 completely new spell diamonds that are only accessible in there.
@@davolthe1261 I remember being scared while starting the game that I had to switch between utility spells and damage spells constantly. I was so happy when I realized that you could have multiple spell sets. Still it sucks when you have to switch
Incendio is always under rated! You need mastery skills in incendio and accio, then put ambush traits on some clothes. Sneak up on a pack of bad guys and pull a small batch out. Accio, incendio, bombarda. You’ve probably taken 3 enemies out of the battle before you walk in.
Incendio is way to low on this list. If you trait your legendary gear towards this spell with tier 3 traits and max out your gear and also upgrade to pull multiple enemies to you, you can one shot multiple enemies at once with this spell. Totally underrated in this video.
@@RetroRaconteur traits and gear, but also the combo he described, Incendio by itself is indeed very bad because you risk getting hit trying to cast it, but if you use Accio first to draw in your target (multiple targets even with Accio Mastery) then it's a really good tool to deal with enemies (basically the general strategies you learn in the Crossed Wands side quests of using control spells to execute combos, except later on you have access to big damage spells instead of the basic shot you do combos with in the dummy training sessions of those side quests). The only times this combo is bad is against large enemies that resist control spells like the large/giant statues from the trials, or trolls.
I get why Reparo is so low down on the list but it’s so satisfying to use. And finishing off the cast with that swish ughh I love every opportunity to use it
Flipendo is good for cursing builds because it curses enemies when using it. Using it with other curse spells it’s really good and I’d argued more useful then the other purple spells
Flipendo and Incendio seem to be the spells I'm sleeping on the most based on comments. I definitely need to try out Flipendo with the curse option enabled.
@@RetroRaconteur keep in mind that you get the most out of it if you do the whole DA talent tree. The thing with Flipendo is to abuse the short cd so you can spread the curse to a multitude of enemies and then finishing them all off with a one-shot AK. So you start like Imperio > Cruciatus (these 2 will spread curse on their own after used, assuming you have their masteries) > Flipendo whatever isn't cursed yet > AK = boom, you just killed everything. The talent tree is the whole reason people go crazy about the DA spells. You can do more fun builds with regular spells, and focus on the gear trait that increases all spell damage tier 3, if you use a DA build, however, you can assign defensive traits to your gear making you more tanky instead.
Here's the spell set that has worked great for me and can easily take down any group of enemies. Set 1: Glacius (upgraded), Expelliarmus (upgraded), Diffindo (upgraded), Flipendo (upgraded) This set takes down solitary enemies easily and is a great starting place when entering a fight. One control, two damage, and one force in a set is perfect for controlling and mastering enemies, not letting them strike back whilst doing a lot of damage. With upgrades my diffindo will do upwards of 700 damage alone. Set 2: AK (upgraded), Bombarda, Descendo (upgraded), Crucio This is a set for the middle of battles. It deals strong damage to enemies. I chose the force spell instead of Confringo here to provide balance to the set and prevent enemies from striking. Set 3: Transformation (upgraded), Accio, Incendio, Depulso (upgraded) Upgraded transformation is the strongest spell in the game in my opinion, letting you take out two enemies for the price of one. Its reload time is slow, but not as bad as AK. The Accio, Incendio, and Depulso combo is also exceptionally stong, and each work well individually too. Depulso is ridiculously strong near cliffs or on towers and bridges. Set 4 is my utility set. I change it all the time, but on default, it will be levioso, nab-sack, disillusionment, and lumos. Sometimes, when fighting Inferi, my set here will be Accio, Incendio, Confringo (upgraded), Depulso (upgraded). If you are interested, I have 2 diffindo upgrades, expelliarmus upgrade, concentration, control, and ancient magic (all level three) on my gear (full legendary). Also, I disagree that Protego is the best (most useful) spell in the game. If it didn't exist, you can just press control and dodge lol.
If you cast Accio from a high enough location, it’s an install kill when they drop. Use with disillusionment and you take out an entire team of enemies in a hilarious way
you're sleeping on flippendo, extremely fast cast and short cooldown + applies curse effect is great for ccing multiple enemies also gives one shot on spiders and good cc on dugbogs after they charge, and troll clubs of course.
Protego and by extension, Stupefy should be dead last, not first lol. Dodging is just way better than Protego as you can avoid all types of damage with what seems like a larger damage prevention window.
When I stopped trying to use Protego and only dodged the game became a lot easier for me. At that point I really only ever took damage if I wasn’t trying.
@@parchemiarz Stupefy has neither crazy utility nor crazy damage lol. You're basically stuck there for another cast if you choose to use it, making it less than useful if you're attacked by multiple enemies at once, it often doesn't hit who you want it to hit, and even with the talent, it only has a base damage of 25, the same as Confringo. Dodge is overwhelmingly better than Protego just for the timing alone, let alone the benefit of not having to worry about the type of attack.
@@whatthat607 bruh I've dealt with like 10 enemies with just the shockwave, stupefy and the basic cast in less than 10 seconds. Yes, dodging is definitely better without the talent upgrades (I dodged way more before unlocking them) but once you unlock them, casting protego is very useful.
@@whatthat607 Confringo has cooldown, stupefy doesn't. Stupefy is free, stuns enemies, breaks shields (except hard mode, perfect protego breaks shields regardless of difficulty), deals good damage, keeps the juggling. Literally all you have to do is use 2 brain cells more to watch out for the big ass yellow circle
That would’ve been cool actually, although, I would say maybe L2 should stay as precise aiming and R3 could rotate through the spell diamonds or something. Rly good idea tho, I absolutely love the combat but I don’t like being limited to basically 2/3 damage and 2/3 control spells only (assuming all 3 unforgivable spells are bound, which they are for me).
@@Psycorde yeah not best but i got use to it, my spell wheels are on aditional mouse buttons, if they put all spells in one wheel like games usually do it would make game much easier for pc compared to console, i played HL with controller for some time but still am faster with keyboard and mouse even with this scheme, and wth is with lock on with m+k, it's practically unusable lol
the problem with ranking many of the spells is that they are situational, a spell like flipendo might be S tier against trolls whilst descendo is useless against them, but then descendo is S tier against acromantula/matriarch spider and flipendo is useless against them
@@RetroRaconteur That's not true, there are attacks that you can't block with Protego, which is why it, and Stupefy should be dead last. Rolling around is just too effective compared to Protego.
@@whatthat607 sure, but its not that hard to tell the difference between a dodge and block. When a spell can make you invincible in almost every situation, and fire off a powerful spell right after that doesn't use your main spells and benefits them too, it deserves to be high.
@@NespeCoaching Sure, but that's still extra time spent processing which action to do for no additional benefit. Only dodging has no downsides. And characterizing it as "almost every situation" is a bit misleading, as you'll likely be targeted by multiple red spells throughout every fight. Also, characterizing Stupefy as a powerful spell is misleading at best. It's not nearly as useful as a regular spell, and while it doesn't use your main spells, it doesn't take long before you get enough of them that you'll have practically no downtime in between spells. This is especially true if you also use consumables. So by pretty early on into the game, Protego is less useful than just casting one of your regular spells.
My favorite thing is when you use the transformation spell on an enemy, they turn into the explosive barrel (after the upgrade) and when you immediately attempt to launch it at another opponent, the barrel spins around you rapidly before flying off in a random direction. Completely as intended!
This is a great game and it’s under appreciated how impressive it is that they made this game work on the switch. It’s not great, but it works. Bravo for taking their time and nailing this game.
I noticed that when you was trying to catch magical creatures with the nab-sack you use the the Wingardium Leviosa spell, but its more effective if you use Accio to bring the animal near to you when its far away... I thought you may want to know, or whoever reads this :)
i only started to learn to use it frequently coz i need my ancient magic meter to fill up quicker, getting a perfect protego also is a satisfying feeling lol
I mostly agree but having lumos before incendio it's just not it. Using the same argument as reparo, lumos is only useful in certain puzzles and missions. Accio + incendio is op. Also, I barely used protego, I preferred dodging
My friends and I may have found a secret in game, connected to which house you join, sorta like that side mission that changes based on house. There is a bathroom in maybe the middle building in hogwarts with a circular sink, and if you go into the women's last stall you'll find a set up for some spell, I believe the set up differs based on your house since I'm in Slytherin and found it set up with someone brewing Polyjuice potion, but a friend who is in Ravenclaw went to the same bathroom and found some sorta botanist set up. I'm not sure if it's based on house or just random but it was different between us.
It’s an ode to the original HP movies from when Hermoine,Harry and Ron took polyjuice potion to turn into Slytherins but it didn’t work and Hermoine ended up a cat lol so Harry and Ron went alone.
@@RetroRaconteur I don't mean that one thing, I mean how it seems to differ what you see in the bathroom based on house. My friend didn't get the brewing the polyjuice potion in the bathroom stall, she got a botanist lab kinda thing, you know all plants and dirt and such.
I‘m a scaredy cat do I avoid combat at all costs 😂 My best friends are Chinese chomping cabbage and an upgraded petrificus totalus 😁 Used to clear whole camps (also the large ones in castles & main quests) this way
My personal problem with protego and stupify that I so used to dodging attacks via rolling after the witcher 3 that I usually forget those spells exist😄
i don't get all the hate for Filpendo, it's a great purple combo starter and Incendio, when combined Acio and Glacius is insane, Pool few enemies with Acio then Freeze and Incendio one of them, the one you target died in one shot, and the rest gets tons of dmg from the frozen explosion and the circle of fire, literally the best combo in the game IMO.
I used accio --> incendio a lot early on and was just never satisfied with the damage. I still use it in certain situations, but I'd prefer to just not ever be that close if I can avoid it 🤣
@@RetroRaconteur the damage gets better as you level up, and fire spells do passive damage after casting too. It does require both Accio and Incendio Masteries on the talent tree to get the best out of it, Glacius Mastery too if you want to maximize damage as OP said.
Nice one Retro! Great point on the transfiguration spells and most of the utility spells. I agree those easily could have been contextual. Would be really nice to set up my fourth spell diamond for combat and not have to swap it around all the time 😁
I love how many of the spells got a wide range of use between combat and puzzles - the combo of using arresto momentum on an object you just moved to the right spot with wingardium leviosa seems so obvious in retrospect but it took me a minute the first time i ran into it
I'm devastated you have my fav spell arresto momentum so low 😭. The visuals in that spell are so nostalgic even though in the movies its the spell immobilus that gets the screen time. It's utility in the game is SO underated and you feel so OP casting that on an enemy and being able to come back to that enemy later when you have wrecked everybody else first.
Haha. I knew it would upset some people but from around 26 or so on...they're all pretty strong in the right situations. Does Arresto last a pretty long while?
About decendo, I usually don't initiate combos with it. I'll usually start with any spell that knocks an enemy airborne flipendo, arresto momentum, or accio usually. That way the slam from decendo deals more damage. When capturing beasts, I usually hit them with decendo, followed by arresto momentum, then the napsack. It allows me to hit them 6 times with the napsack before they're able to get back on their feet again.
Patronus charm and fiend fyre curse. Fiend fyre would be OP though, so maybe they could make it so that using the 3 unforgivable curses fills up a meter like ancient magic. Then when full you can unleash it.
what makes this game even better is ther is no MP and no charge up time on spells. i allways thought that it made more since that spells should be instant cast but need recovery tome after than the usual charge up to cast
better say this list is for easy and medium difficulty, on hard difficulty protego and stupefy becomes really quickly useless and evading is your best bet. Avada kedavra is the most powerful one because you can essentially get rid of bosses not giving a shit about them, but it's not the most versatile.
The fact that there’s a lockpicking mini game with Alohomora is so frustrating. It’s a spell, it’s magic it’s literally the one scenario where the cliche lockpicking minigame doesn’t need to exist
Meanwhile you ignore it’s a game, and you have to press buttons to use magic. If a 5 second mini-game is “so frustrating” you should revaluate your life. Why have any mini-game or puzzle functions, it’s just “magic”.
Pro tip: get yourself a legendary gear and add the ancient magic throw enchantment III on it. With enough of these, the ancient magic throw will become insta kill on most of the enemies.
When you hit frozen enemies with Incendio it does more damage than hitting with Diffindo. My bread and butter is accio, Gladius, Incendio, if needed a Diffindo to finish them off.
Fun fact with imperio. You can use it under disillusionment and just sit back and watch the enemies take each other out without ever knowing you're there. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the NPC duels.
I love how you are given extra slots as if you can’t swap them at literally any time, even mid combo allowing you to stretch it even further, it doesn’t even continue the gameplay in the background, everything pauses and you get a new loadout or partial new loadout to abuse infinite combos further than you already could
I just finished my first playthrough, and I also didn't use the unforgivable curses except when necessary. About to start my second playthrough and plan to go fully evil Slytherin, with a focus on the curses.
There is no difference in the game if you choose to use the curses. Not even a difference if you're mean to people. They go right back to acting totally chummy with you right after. Lol Also #stopslytherinhate
My four slots (making sure i have a spell that curse is in every slot for extra damage) 1- flipendo, glacius, diffindo, bombarda *pure damage 2- accio, arressto M or (transfiguration), expelliarmus, incendio 3- descendo, levioso, crucio or (diffindo), confringo 4- depulso, transfiguration or (disillusionment), imperio, AK or (lumos) i assign each spell color/category to it's own button so i don't get confused during the heat of a battle when switch the spell sheet. Spell sheet #4 is the only one that i switch around for the room of requirements stuff. The combat system in this game is soo fun :) once you are familiar with what type of system you are running.
Really couldn't agree less with protego and stupefy at number 1 and 2 respectively. You could go trough the entire game without even using any of them, since you can avoid anything just by dodge rolling attacks and even more so when you upgrade it, giving you the ability to just basically teleport around.
I like what you did here! In all martial arts, the basics are the most important skills to learn and be proficient with. Being a good protego and stupify caster would open so much ways to finish a fight in real life. Throw expelliarmus in the mix and you are Harry Potter lol.
Yeah Depulso is like my favourite spell lmao, just love how it throws people into walls and fires and does large amounts of damage depending on what they hit and how far they are thrown

First of all,I’ll always study on “SLYTHERIN”,both when I start to play this game for the first time, and when I replay it more and more, again and again(I’ll replay it with great pleasure),secondly, now I’m switching to my favorite curse,it’s one of Unforgivable Curses - “AVADA KEDAVRA”,this is the best, and the most powerful curse of all,in my opinion,it can kill and eliminate everybody instantly(especially,if you upgrade it till maximum level-it can kill all enemies simultaneously),it’s brilliant, that there’s no any punishment of life imprisonment in “AZKABAN” in this game,so I can use all of the Unforgivable Curses not only on my enemies, but also, both on students, and on professors,by the way, both “AVADA KEDAVRA”’s and “SLYTHERIN”’s color are my favorite color - GREEN,moreover - I like dark-green and green flame - this is the another reason - why this faculty and curse are my favorite,as for you - I wish you all the best;best of luck;happiness;strength;love;well-beings,and the best things in all your life’s moments !!!
I solved Hogwarts Legacy's DARKEST mysteries --> ua-cam.com/video/95mq6QmzvH8/v-deo.html

I think Basic Cast should be much higher in the list - it does a lot of work, and is by far the spell that is used most. I can't believe you ranked Flipendo - a spell I used like 12 times - above Basic Cast, which I used 1,000,000 times, and which is probably responsible for >50% of all damage to enemies.
personally I treat basic cast as a weak stupify
and if you have the talent it recharges your spells
Basic Cast is the most casted spell in the game, and when combined with Crucio or casted in between Force Spells, can turn most fights into a turkey shoot.
You can also upgrade basic cast to be a useful assist to decrease delay times
honestly, i mostly just use basic cast.
I hardly use the other spells.
Expeliarmus is your bread and butter spell against Goblins and Guardians combined with Ancient Magic Throw. Far more important than it's seen here.
It's a super fun combo that nothing compares to, it's just so satisfying
It’s so satisfying especially if you get the upgrade that curses enemies with expelliarmus
The problem is that its almost entirely pointless against enemies without weapons, of which there are several
Plus the parry mecanic against Executioners
Yes, it is my most go-to spell!
My main 4 are expelliarmus and transfiguration for immense adaptability and the arrest momentum - descendo combi, descendo also giving a means to break purples and arrest momentum usable to use petrificus totalus on hard enemies.
I honestly think lumos might be one of my favourite spells. I love the sound, I love how it lights up things (and helps against devilssnare) and it’s just so iconic. Walking at night in the castle with the wand in the air lighting up the entire corridor is just pure magic and nostalgia
THEY HELP AGAINST DEVILS SNARE??? ive been spamming incendio all this time😭
People don't get how good Flipendo is. When upgraded it gives the curse effect to the target, making it a great combo starter. Something like Flipendo, Glaciate, Incendio, Bombarda does insane dmg
Thank you, my go to rotation right now is Flipendo>Descendo>Glacius>Diffendo/Bombarda
Hmm. Admittedly, I haven't put the curse effect on Flipendo yet.
@RetroRaconteur It improves the spell a lot because it becomes the shortest CD curse application spell once you do that. In combo with avada kadavra spread or transfiguration curse chain it is crazy good.
Add in 6x damage increase on cursed enemies and flipendo/expelliarmus, glacio, diffindo/bombarda/throw becomes huge without breaking the whole game

Exactly!!! Completely agree.
I just found out a few days ago about the accio spell adding the wingardium leviosa ability. I'm glad that saves up one of the spell slots. Wingardium leviosa is very situational as well.
For sure!
If I’m correct, snaps made that spell himself so therefore, it can’t happen before him
@@mandohunter8509you're thinking of sectumsempra which is that slash spell. Doesn't produce snakes.
I think that is a really good idea. They should have added one spell which is specific to your house.
I can understand why you ranked protego so high, its also so satisfying getting that perfect block and sending a shockwave and spells back at enemies.
😂
Time out… does this work??
It does. If you cast spells fast enough, with the focus potion recharge talent, you can bring your timer back up to 15 seconds by spamming.

I thought the same thing when I saw that cutscene!
Confringo is optional right? That might be why, so players who don't have it, aren't using a spell they never learned.
An oversight that the range of a cinematic scene didn’t match the same range as in combat in game?
I love how the spell wheels leave the combat style up to the player. Personal favs of mine are Glacius-Bombarda or Accio-Bombarda for further enemies followed by Diffindo to finish them.
My favorites are:
Expelliarmus - Throw
Transformation - Throw
Accio - Incendio (classic)
Arresto - Descendo
Why does Alohamora turn into a mini game. It literally unlocks locked things (unless they're charmed locked) making it into a mini game seems redundant for what it does. It's not actually unlocking a lock it's forcing you to peep into said lock then picklock your way through it.
This. Why am I picking the lock when I just used magic? 😂
@@rosieposie2835 Exactly you get it!!

My favorite spell is the ancient magic dodge, makes the game have ‘wow’ moments.
Wingardium Leviosa is an insta-kill if you drop a thing on a monsters head (I used it against the Pensieve Guardian)
Incendio is way to low on this list. If you trait your legendary gear towards this spell with tier 3 traits and max out your gear and also upgrade to pull multiple enemies to you, you can one shot multiple enemies at once with this spell. Totally underrated in this video.
Traits can definitely help and i feel like there are so many viable options in the game.
Couldn’t agree more. Incendio is my go to spell for close range

The way Crucio is said when you cast it, is so badass.
Using stealth with imperio works so good. Especially if you can curse a troll you just sit back and let the violence unfold.
Here's the spell set that has worked great for me and can easily take down any group of enemies.
Set 1: Glacius (upgraded), Expelliarmus (upgraded), Diffindo (upgraded), Flipendo (upgraded)
This set takes down solitary enemies easily and is a great starting place when entering a fight. One control, two damage, and one force in a set is perfect for controlling and mastering enemies, not letting them strike back whilst doing a lot of damage. With upgrades my diffindo will do upwards of 700 damage alone.
Set 2: AK (upgraded), Bombarda, Descendo (upgraded), Crucio
This is a set for the middle of battles. It deals strong damage to enemies. I chose the force spell instead of Confringo here to provide balance to the set and prevent enemies from striking.
Set 3: Transformation (upgraded), Accio, Incendio, Depulso (upgraded)
Upgraded transformation is the strongest spell in the game in my opinion, letting you take out two enemies for the price of one.
Use with disillusionment and you take out an entire team of enemies in a hilarious way
when you are out numbered the chomping cabbages really help
I never thought of using wingardium leviosa on enemies in this game until now😂

It’s funny how I stopped using Protego after learning how to dodge.
I’m too scared to start using Protego again. I’m don’t trust my timings.
Also a lot of enemies hit hard enough to break your protego
Protego and by extension, Stupefy should be dead last, not first lol. Dodging is just way better than Protego as you can avoid all types of damage with what seems like a larger damage prevention window.
When I stopped trying to use Protego and only dodged the game became a lot easier for me. At that point I really only ever took damage if I wasn’t trying.
Protego is better than dodge just for stupefy alone, stupefy has crazy utility and damage

Great point. Part of the reason spells like protego, stupefy, and AK rose to the top for me. They’re strong no matter the situation.

@@RetroRaconteur try combining Arresto Momento with Depulso lol, especially near cliffs, works like a charm.
About decendo, I usually don't initiate combos with it. I'll usually start with any spell that knocks an enemy airborne flipendo, arresto momentum, or accio usually. That way the slam from decendo deals more damage.

I love how you are given extra slots as if you can’t swap them at literally any time, even mid combo allowing you to stretch it even further, it doesn’t even continue the gameplay in the background, everything pauses and you get a new loadout or partial new loadout to abuse infinite combos further than you already could
As someone who picked up hogwarts legacy and is not really a gamer, basic cast is my #1 when panicking 😂
If you play in story mode you have the option to auto solve locks.
Lol
Also #stopslytherinhate
Totally agree with incendio, I actually like the upgraded one a lot, but it's situational.
I totally disagree, incendio deals highest damage of all spells. I usually use it with accio or swift.
👍
My four slots (making sure i have a spell that curse is in every slot for extra damage)
1- flipendo, glacius, diffindo, bombarda *pure damage
2- accio, arressto M or (transfiguration), expelliarmus, incendio
3- descendo, levioso, crucio or (diffindo), confringo
4- depulso, transfiguration or (disillusionment), imperio, AK or (lumos)
i assign each spell color/category to it's own button so i don't get confused during the heat of a battle when switch the spell sheet. Spell sheet #4 is the only one that i switch around for the room of requirements stuff.
The combat system in this game is soo fun :) once you are familiar with what type of system you are running.
With Imperious you can petrificus totalus the enemy if there is one enemy only
Once there are no more enemies in the area and you still have an imperio curse active, you can petrificus the imperio'ed one as long as imperio is up.
I really like using gravity to my advantage 🤣 accio-depulso or flipendo-decendo. Super fun to send enemies off cliffs 😆
Yeah Depulso is like my favourite spell lmao, just love how it throws people into walls and fires and does large amounts of damage depending on what they hit and how far they are thrown
Yes!!! I get so confused still about what spells and combos I like to use!
Leviosa + diffindo can kill the big frog in 1 time if he pulls his toungh out
Troll get killed instanly by avada kedavra
Accio + arresto momentom can acces to petrificus totales wgile the enemy is flothi g in the air
While being unseen as a sneak attack
U can have accio+ fire + push in the ground or flippendo + then bombarda or something
dude got lumos above basic cast 3:23 is where i leave this video 💀

Hello,RetroRaconteur-thank you very much for this video, and now I’d like to tell you about my favorite curse, and the reasons!
