    I was fortunate to find you back in December when I was in a pitiful state. Diagnosed with advanced Hip OA and labral tears in both my hips I was told only a double hip replacement would help. Well, 4 months later, I am 100% pain free. I owe it mostly to your videos, your program, and your expertise. You truly know your stuff. My stubbornness helped too 💪I refused to accept the bleak prognosis and kept the faith even with the setbacks. I am now preparing myself to return to the running that I love so much. June is my target. My focus now is strengthening. Thanks to you I make a conscious effort to use my glutes, even when walking, and to keep good posture when sitting (desk job). I always keep that pelvis in check. You have taught me so much and I am grateful. Orthopedic surgeons could learn a thing or two from you. It would make them better doctors. All this to say I no longer feel sorry for myself. I have a life to live and I feel like celebrating - in stiletto heels 😜 That’s right! I’m going to let the glutes do all the work! 👠👠 Thank you ❤

    I can tell you tonight I walked exactly the way you showed me engaging my glutes and walking kind of like a duck and I can tell you I'm pain-free for the first time in a year👍🙏👀. I can't tell you how much I thank you for showing me all your exercises for all the parts of the body. The next time I go to Texas I'm going to stop in and give you some flowers and my old cane.😂🙏 God bless you with knowledge and how to get better thank you you are a Healer🙏

    I’m a retired physical therapist and I have hip issues. Excessive walking, standing and especially stair exercises kill me!! Sometimes a bike depending the position I’m sitting such as recumbent vs upright bike. What I find works best is hip strengthening, the ones that don’t hurt. I strengthen my quads and hamstrings using gym machines. Try walking in a pool with water chest height. To increase my heart rate for aerobics I use an upper extremity “bike”. Thank you for the info and I’m off to research the new info on hip stuff.

    That is so true. Walking causes me so much pain but a treadmill helps as it moves your leg to take the step i will pay attention to squeezing my glutes. I can do that.

    I have an up coming vacation that will require lots of walking. I'm bone on bone knee and bone on bone hip on my left side. My right hip was replaced and I'm taller by one inch on the right. I'm planning on using two canes like walking sticks and I can keep up pretty good. The exercises have taken away nearly all pain. Guess my foot neuropathy is going to be my biggest issue. Thanks for the videos, they truly help.

    Hi i went for an x-ray and got diagnosed with hip arthritis but its in the early stages i get slight pain but nothing severe. I went for a walk today and was tightening my glutes like you recommended and it really worked ive been consciously doing it around the house too. Absolutely amazing. I thank you from the bottom of my heart you seem like such an amazing, caring, compassionate guy. God bless you. I was wondering can you do a video on driving and the correct sitting posture because i feel like that's how i developed my arthritis in the first place as i am a professional driver by trade (bus driver) and there's lots of turning your hips greeting passengers, taking money and the drivers seats are not fit for purpose also generally getting bounced about in the cab. Keep up the good work. Thank you so much. I'm a real big fan.

    I was born w/one hip higher than the other(quite a lot) I found out when I was 17 in a PE class. When I ask my mom she said the DR told her that when I was born, and my mom stated she wasn't sure if I would even be able to walk. My dad was in college and I wasn't able to get special shoes, etc. I had a THR 4 yrs. ago.. I was never able to ride a bike as a child, do a Hula-hoop. or really run. I was the last to be chosen for a baseball team. I felt bad. When I had my 1st child, I was had toxemia ,and was admitted to the hospital. After a wk. I had not started labor, so I was induced w/Pitocin. Didn't work. They did it for 6 hrs. and would have kept it up, but, no contractions, no nothing. They tried this on how to handle my case, and 3 mos. later split up. My mom's friend knew the docs wife. Anyway a yr. ago I decided to look it up and it's called a Pelvic Tilt. Then it all made sense, Nothing wrong w/the other hip. The OB's never considered it. It makes me mad that I suffered my whole life and got no help. My PT refused to work on me after he found out. I went to see him for a "Weak Leg" No X-rays were taken for 6 mos. I do feel much better now hip-wise.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  Місяць тому +1

      Hey Kelly! This can be aggravating your hip OA, especially if you are using the quad muscles to do your marching. It is more important to focus on using the glutes and performing simple motions that help to decrease pain in the hips. We have plenty of videos for this if you would like to learn more about what you can do to heal your hip OA. Here is a link to our playlist of videos:

And how much time it take for the natural curve to restore again??

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy

      Swimming will be helpful if you can get your glutes to work rather than your quad muscles during the exercise. If you feel you are using your quads more than your glutes while swimming, then you will likely make your knee problem worse.

    I messed up on my comment below. Since I never started labor, 11 days after I was admitted to the hospital, by then 2 wks. late and since the Pitocin did not work ,I had a C-section. My OB'S couldn't figure it out and disagreed on how to handle my case, They were in business together for 25 yrs, and split up 3 mos. later. My mom's friend knew the docs wife. A awful painful life for having a Pelvic Tilt. Why have I never seen any discussion about this? ANYWHERE? How common is this? I never got any help. Can you discuss this? When I took my 1st step as a baby, I was wearing my hip down and was lop-sided my whole life. What should have been done to help me? I couldn't dance fast either, only slow dances.
