Couldn’t agree more. You have to get a second opinion. I had a diagnosis after x rays for arthritis in both hips and Dr offered pain relief and surgery which I didn’t want. My physio recommended swimming and a range of exercises. I took his advice and six years on - pain has 99% gone/no need for pain relief. May not work for everyone (and it may not last) but its important to know there may be other options to either pills or surgery.
Agree 100%. Was told my hip was “shot to shit”. Got an injection using the fluoroscope over a month ago. I’m walking twice a day, doing my PT exercises, and losing weight. IMO surgery will always be an option, but it should be your last resort. Try other options first.

Hello all. After 20 years of pain on left side, hip, pelvic area causing me limping, which I was sure was muscular and was relieved by lying on hard vinyl futon, yet it always returned from sitting on cushioned desk chairs or walking, I have finally found accidentally both a cause and a cure. I happened to see a senior's exercise video with various stretches which "cooled down" with a stretch of sitting on the edge of a hard dining room chair, while stretching the left leg backward, I can feel a wonderful stretch. Seems as if searching for a perfect cushioned desk chair is the CAUSE. I am walking normally, no need for Xrays! Yay!
Thank you. I’ll take a look at these videos. I’m 70 and have had intermittent groin pain with exercise for a few years. My pt finally recommended seeing an orthopedic dr for an mri. It revealed mild arthritis. I plan to exercise my way through this!

Thank you Bob & Brad. I did not exercise for 7 weeks and sat all days (due to neck lift from aboard and doctor told me not to exercise). Then one days I had a bad pain radiate from top of my leg to lower leg. The neurologist surgeon thought it was from muscle tighten up. If I exercise it should go away. I’m almost done with my 2 month course of PT for a severe herniated disc in my L4-L5 making me immobile and losing control of bladder/bowel function and it has been unbelievably helpful. Not only is my back pain manageable, I rarely take ibuprofen, but my balance is better than before the herniation despite having preexisting neuropathy. While I might need surgery down the line, I’m extremely pleased with the the results of physical therapy, this is coming from someone who had major skepticism as my pain and problems were so severe. The only thing that still bothers me is some tightness in my right SI joint. I was wondering if you guys had any videos specifically related to loosening/getting the SI joints more mobile? It feels inflamed more than tight, but I’m unsure if that’s actually what’s going on. Thanks so much for your helpful and compassionate content!

Hi. I'm 39 with osteoarthritis in both hips, plus congenital hip dysplasia in both. I'm due an full replacement in a few months - SO EXCITED. Anyway, I recommend using EMS pads for the hips. I plan on getting one done this summer, covid prevented me from getting it last year and with kids during school time its not a great idea. I do plan on strengthening the muscles before going at it, I was actually seeing a PT for my hip lol he said my recovery time would be quicker

Just trying to figure things out for myself and I was interested because you said you needed it because you had a vascular necrosis But you’re having multiple surgeries and you said that you agreed with the guys so I’m just curious if you would’ve done it again
Regarding your third lie, I disagree with you, as many active people in sports do wear out their joints through activity. For instance, dancers are noted for having arthritis of the joints in the feet over time. Professional basketball players soccer players, and tennis players often get osteoarthritis of the hip joint over time, due to repetitive motion, and constant twisting, and extreme stretching of the hip joints in these sports, and other sports as well. Thus I would say that moderate exercise is good for the hip and other joints, but lack of exercise, or very active or excessive exercise is bad. In other words, moderate exercise is best for the hip joints and other joints.
Extremely, tricky as Osgood in my right leg caused pain throughout body and especially lower back and neck with 5yrs of extreme stretching and now inversion table addressing years of arthritis in knee and hip.
Yes I had a fracture I was told . Your ok go home? Then I got MRI pubic Rami fracture. Agony...I started leg lifts then weight bearing then pain mgt. Now I'm still in pain but if I miss my stretching or p.t. I'm in pain.. Good pain management and knowing you can have hell days . But do your exercises . Treat you inflammation that's the key
Hey guys - thanks for all the great info! I'm scheduled for hip replacement soon, on my (right) bone on bone hip. My question is after several months of pain on my "bad" side, the other leg is now bothering me even more! Is this normal? Maybe I'm compensating for the bad side. I know I have been limping / walking unbalanced for quite a while now. Thank you!
An old comic book's love strip had our heroine saying to her brute lover -"Lie to me" said she -"I will never lie to you!" replied he as she melted into his arms!
Excellent! Osteoarthritis is the NORMAL part of ageing. Worth remembering if you visit a specialist who is a surgeon - their go-to remedy is surgery. Confirmation bias.
One big lie is that you should try an injection in the hip first. If it's worn out it's worn out, injection is a waste of time in my experience. Next week I'm getting a total replacement of my right hip, thankfully the left one is in good shape (so far). I had both knees done 3 years ago and a year later my right hip went out. I really could use a new right shoulder but I can worry about that later. I'm tired of being crippled.
I disagree with you, but respect your opinion and understand that each person’s situation may be different. In my case, while I’m under the BMI range to get the surgery, I recently got an injection, which eliminated all the pain after a day. I also stopped eating sugar. In the end I realize that it isn’t real and the arthritis is still in the hip, but what it’s done is bought me time. Time to lose more weight and have an easier post op recovery.
@@MareeJaeger I’m feeling great. The big difference in my injection in February versus the one I got in July was the one in July was done with the assistance of a fluoroscope. It’s basically a moving X-ray machine so they can locate the most troublesome spot. They put the injection in the hip from the top. I’m walking twice a day and doing my PT stretches as well. Lost a little more weight. IMO surgery should be the last resort. You have nothing to lose trying less invasive measures first. Good luck to you on whatever you choose.

After being very fit and flexible, up to 2 years ago, told my hips are tight, and I need 2 hip replacements, which I don't want. I have no hip pain, it's in my knees, and thighs, when I walk 😭, also very stiff legs. I have a walker and crutcers to help me walk. Did hydrotherapy, but the pool was not safe, getting in and out. I do a workout with a stretch band, but not sure if it's helping. I have good and bad days 😭 Any suggestions? Was on the trial list for stemcell procedure, but that is on hold 😭I disagree, where you 2 say, non active people will have more problems, than active ones. I was active, and still developed tight hips, sorry but that saying, move it or lose it, is rubbish 😡

I've refreshed, etc. I've probably watched most of them due to recent issues but it would be nice to have them in one spot plus the PDFs. If I'm missing something, please advise.
i have a front hip pain a lot of your videos i watched now i can say i have a hip pain or bursitis the question is am i correct and what are possible solution?
I was told 6 years ago that I would need hip replacement surgery within 5 years. I admit that I have pain in both hips but,I don't want any surgeries. Most nights are painful in bed, but I try to follow your advice for sleep positions and excersize. I' m 75 , and am limited to only a few excersizes that are recommended. My big problem is the limited movement of the left hip flexors . I currently use a sock slider just to put my sock on. Cutting the toe nails is impossible. Can you recommend an exercise that will help with this? Thank you both, your videos are so helpful.
@@dinahlawlor2060 congratulations you won’t regret I am recovering well but my mobility after 3 months is still not 100% although I no longer have pain, I am not going to do my left hip until I find that the pain is unbearable, I just had a hernia repair yesterday and I got an extra 6 weeks of disability before I go back to work anyhow please let me know how it goes and if you need any tips, I do however recommend you rent a medical bed that was the best decision in my part, it will be easier to get in and out of bed and you will be much more comfortable with all the electrical adjustments.
I’m a massage therapist and if I had a dime for every time I heard someone say they were having knee or hip surgery for “bone on bone” I’d be as rich as the surgeons doing all the surgeries
Do you have any videos for rheumatoid arthritis in the elbows. Pain and deformity are my biggest problems. I’ve had injections and taken meds. I’m looking for pain relief and strengthening exercises. I can bare lift my arms to feed myself. My PMR clinician referred me to your videos because she has no clue of what to do for the elbows. I’m guessing rheumatoid arthritis is most common in hands, knees and feet
I already have two surgeries one on each hip. I had a lump on my femur that was grinding into my socket which tore my labrum’s. That was 2015. Now I had two flare ups one this April then again and August. The pain is exponentially worse. Not sure what to do. Orthopedic said he can’t do anything but injections or remove the labrum’s as a last resort.
My surgeries were to shave the lump down on my femur and replace one labrum and repair the other. So I’m hoping to somehow get my pain levels back to march where it was easily tolerated pain.
this is exactly what I was told and what I am going through thank u Guys great work this couldnt get better than this God bless u as I continue to follow through
I wished I watched your video before the surgery 5days ago! I regret that I had!! Uncomfortable with the fact of the surgery, longer upper leg where operated & poor hospital care!! Could the leg gets shorter later?
Bob and Brad, what are your thoughts on turmeric and collagen supplements for joint and bone health? I am using my Aeropilates reformer again which is helpful for my arthritis. Diet is important too.
That's a load of rubbish, I moved all the time. Fit and very flexible, and my hips still became tight 😭 I have to use a walker to help me walk now. I use a stretch band for exercise, but it makes no difference 😭 Over the years I have had some falls, when I lost my balance, but bounced back. I was still exercising, and still flexible, right up until, 2 years ago. I'm 68 now, and it's depressing. Next for me is an Osteopath 👍. I was a lap swimmer as well, tried hydro, but the pool was dangerous getting in and out, and that was at a physios. How can I loosen tight hips, without being in pain? Funny thing I don't have hip pain, but get pain in my knees, and down my legs, especially getting in and out of my small ensuite.
Is it IT bands? I have OA in hips and had Major back surgery...fused 2-5 with lamenectomy and discsectomy and my back still hurts, but they kept thinking I had bursitis, but shots didn't work. Right now working with physio for IT bands and using like a tens machine on hips. This with excersize is helping. Blessings to all of you in pain. I've been dealing with it for years. It's no fun!
I'm ashamed of being 30 lbs. overweight. I'm getting a new left hip in a month. I've lost 20 lbs. & am going to lose it all and live longer without pain.
My hip down to mid calf is dead. I've been bone on bone for years. I've had 3 opinions and they all say the same thing. Hip replacement surgery. I'm now in a wheelchair and the pain is getting worse. I'm scared to have the surgery cause of this plandemic. Is there anything that would regenerate my leg bone, lessen my pain? I don't like pain meds. Thank you

Same problem, use stationery bike it helps also laying on bed exercise it also help. Thanks guys
Thank you
Hey guys - thanks for all the great info! Thank you!
Is your bone on bone all the way round the socket or just a section of it?
An old comic book's love strip had our heroine saying to her brute lover -"Lie to me" said she -"I will never lie to you!" replied he as she melted into his arms!
Love the irony !
Excellent! Osteoarthritis is the NORMAL part of ageing. Worth remembering if you visit a specialist who is a surgeon - their go-to remedy is surgery. Confirmation bias.
Thanks for info am having hip surgery next month
Unfortunately, surgeons are interested primarily in making money. Surgery is their biggest revenue generator.
How did it go?
@@MareeJaeger I’m feeling great. The big difference in my injection in February versus the one I got in July was the one in July was done with the assistance of a fluoroscope. It’s basically a moving X-ray machine so they can locate the most troublesome spot. They put the injection in the hip from the top. I’m walking twice a day and doing my PT stretches as well. Lost a little more weight. IMO surgery should be the last resort. You have nothing to lose trying less invasive measures first. Good luck to you on whatever you choose.
@@romowasbetterthanaikman3932 I was talking to @Big Dam Blues Band but it is good to hear your experience too. In my case it’s bone on bone and I’ve been told eventually that injections or anything else won’t work at this point :(
@@MareeJaeger My apologies. I don’t know if mine is bone on bone, but was told my hip was “shot” and I couldn’t do anymore damage to it getting the injection.
Thank you for all the informations .
Well done.
Thanks!
Extremely helpful.
Im 7 lb over weight..getting my Rh done Tuesday..worried about recovery?????
Hi guys I I sent you a email yesterday asking you about refurbished products like your fit glide. I can't afford a brand new one but if you have a return or refurbished one i could possibly buy one. I really appreciate the videos they are very informative and helpful. Thank you KEITH Curry.
My surgeon said the hip joint never will get better … so, op is the only option!
You've referred to your series on hips several times but it is not on your website as far as I can tell, it still says "coming soon". I've refreshed, etc. I've probably watched most of them due to recent issues but it would be nice to have them in one spot plus the PDFs. If I'm missing something, please advise.
Thank you!
i have a front hip pain a lot of your videos i watched now i can say i have a hip pain or bursitis the question is am i correct and what are possible solution?
I was told 6 years ago that I would need hip replacement surgery within 5 years. I admit that I have pain in both hips but,I don't want any surgeries. Most nights are painful in bed, but I try to follow your advice for sleep positions and excersize. I' m 75 , and am limited to only a few excersizes that are recommended. My big problem is the limited movement of the left hip flexors . I currently use a sock slider just to put my sock on. Cutting the toe nails is impossible. Can you recommend an exercise that will help with this? Thank you both, your videos are so helpful.
I’m 47 just got my right hip replacement doing great 👍🏽
@@galaxiax3284 getting my Rh done next Tuesday..im 7lb over weight will i be ok recovering 🙃
How old are you if you don’t mind me asking?
I’m a massage therapist and if I had a dime for every time I heard someone say they were having knee or hip surgery for “bone on bone” I’d be as rich as the surgeons doing all the surgeries
Thanks!
Thank you!!
My hip sockets were oval shaped is what the doctors have been saying, and that I used up the mileage on my hips.
My surgeries were to shave the lump down on my femur and replace one labrum and repair the other. So I’m hoping to somehow get my pain levels back to march where it was easily tolerated pain.
Any body range of motion w medicine .8 hr Tylenol and with a flare something stronger
this is exactly what I was told and what I am going through thank u Guys great work this couldnt get better than this God bless u as I continue to follow through
Good luck!
Bob and Brad, what is your opinion on dry needling for pain for lower back and or hips?
I wished I watched your video before the surgery 5days ago!
I regret that I had!! Uncomfortable with the fact of the surgery, longer upper leg where operated & poor hospital care!!
Could the leg gets shorter later?
Sorry to hear.
Bob and Brad, what are your thoughts on turmeric and collagen supplements for joint and bone health? I am using my Aeropilates reformer again which is helpful for my arthritis. Diet is important too.
Have u tried elast joint?
@@91Stellaakasteky91 No I haven't
Awesome info. Thank you guys! ❤️🙏🏼🐾🐞❄️ Its snowing on Long Island Ny.
Is the boflex m5 max trainer good for hips?
This video made my day thanks guys 💪🐮
Love you guys so much, but - ditto for 45von's message about audio. Please.
What is the title of the pilates for joint health book you mentioned in the video?
I would love if it were just arthritis, I have osteoporosis, I've been active everyday of my life 😢
Me too
You guys are great t agree totally thank you both 😊
If you sit day after day,for up to 12 hours a day, of course you are not going to feel good
Love your caricatures!
I love the intro
Hola
Hola!
Nice music!!
Wanna use my hip for a couple of weeks? One word... PAIN!
Can you get a second opinion
I have had my wallet in my back right pocket since I was young. Since I've got older, I feel some pain in that hip.
you must be very rich to throw off your balance...
@@Lightonahill25 no, just a bunch of receipts lol
Obesity is the main cause of hip and joint pain.
I'm ashamed of being 30 lbs. overweight. I'm getting a new left hip in a month. I've lost 20 lbs. & am going to lose it all and live longer without pain.
Medical massage a true specialist (not a spa massage) in medical massage would easily be able to help someone with a hip issue.
Thank you
Sorry to hear. I'm not enthusiastic about surgery either. I love the picture of the pink bird.
When I saw their late night video of them bashing a certain massager I thought 💭 they know they have to take it down ... legal reason and such .... then I see it disappear 😆 I thought 💭 there ya go . Be the bigger people .
I HIP BUCK AT NIGHT AND FAN MY FEET BACK AND FORTH FAST LIKE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DURING A RAIN STORM EVERY NIGHT AND I TAKE A WALKER EVERYWHERE BECAUSE WHEN IT ACTS UP I NEED SOMEWHERE TO SIT NOW OR YESTERDAY
BUT THE PAIN IS NOT REGULATED TO CERTAIN ACTIONS
LAYING DOWN, SITTING , STANDING , WALKING DOESN'T MATTER THE PART THAT YOU MISSED IS YOU'RE NO ATHLETE WHEN YOU HAVE BONE ON BONE SO YOUR LIES THING IS SORT OF PHONEY BALONEY ...ALL SIX
MORE THAN 4 YEARS NOW AND I WOULD LIKE A HIP REPLACEMENT BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A DAY WITHOUT BONE ON BONE SUFFERING REGARDLESS HOW MILD IT CAN BE .
I SUFFER FROM COVID NO SURGERY BECAUSE ALL SURGERIES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED IT MAY STAY LIKE THAT FOR 100s OF YEARS ...AS LONG AS I CAN GET A HIP REPLACEMENT BFORE MY 800TH BIRTHDAY I'LL BE YOUNGER THAN MOSES WHEN HE DIED
