As the halo vehicle for the Acura/Honda brand, the first generation NSX is already on its way to becoming a future classic. When it was first introduced in 1991, it was simply well ahead of its time and this Japanese super car forced Italian and German super cars to step up their game in terms of quality, usability, and reliability. If you've always wanted an Acura NSX, now could be the time to finally get one, that is... if you can even find an owner willing to give it up.

Great job with this review. I enjoy watching your videos and listening to your personal opinions about the cars you drive. This NSX is amazingly beautiful
I want 1!!!
Thanks HondaPro Jason, we figured you'd like this one. Have you had a chance to drive/own one of these classics yet?
Actually the S600 and 800 were the first Honda RWD cars.
A true drivers car. Not like the over engineered auto-appliance shitboxes of today.
Just felt the need to point out that the NSX was not Honda's first rear-wheel-drive car. Back in the 60's they had the s360, S500, S600, and the S800...all of which were front-engine RWD cars.
I don't giggle, I chuckle.
The gates on the manual looked very closely spaced. Awesome.
Why do you gotta be disappointed about pointless things like a cassette, no auto up or passenger window button. It’s a legendary sports car from the early nineties
I wish I could afford this car😞 Anyways, very nice review. 😄👍
You lucky man, congratulations.
Love it!! Love the new model as well!!
NSX may have sttod for new sportscar unknown....I have heard that as well.
Sweet Review
Timeless Beauty
Beautiful car!
Hey Honda/Acura can you shock the world again?
My 98 Prelude has that same clean dash and interior. That's what I love about the older Honda's. Simple and functional.
Those were the days Japanese companies cared about their cars and put passion into them, now its all about Greed and focus only on making money...Sad time we live in
Well, considering that Japan still hasn't fully recovered from the "lost decade," and that sports cars don't sell that well, it is understandable.
NOW there doing good
its all business my friend. If NSXs were selling like hotcakes, Honda would be producing more of these as much as civics
I think you should do some more reviews with older cars like you use to. Love the reviews tho! keep it up
The Wolf had this car. I want it.
Just because you are a character doesn't mean that you have character.
Move out of the sticks...
Get this straight buster, I’m not here to say please and thank you. I’m here to tell you what to do, and if self preservation is an instinct you possess you better do it, and do it quick. I’m here to help, if my helps not appreciated then lots of luck gentlemen.
Good review, but no mention of God.
I mean, Ayrton Senna
I honestly believe this is the cleanest NSX I've ever seen !
My cousins has this with only 25,000 miles on it!!! Has a body kit too which makes it look that much sexier. It is such a beauty but yes this car is super clean!
Oh my god these cars a beautiful! I don't care if it's underpowered by today's standards, I WANT IT!
Endoe ONE Both of which would be epic!
damn you shift like a boss lol. i loved when you downshifted to 2nd and that sound was amazing and then you went to third
sound of VTEC? You didnt rev it once in the VTEC region! You always shifted at 6000RPM where the VTEC beginns.
gabrielwhite was thinking the same thing.
gabrielwhite Actually not, it activates somewhere in the 5k range. Honda's V6's typically activate in the 5k range. Same thing with the new 4 cylinders, they also activate in thr 5k range. Before, the i4 by Honda would activate between 5800 RPM - 6400 RPM. I heard VTEC kick in this car in this video around 5500 RPM - 5800 RPM. Listen carefully at 13:07. Listen very carefully with the volume all the way up.
i have my earphones on but sorry i cant hear it at 5500. And he almost left the trothle at 5500rpm.
Such a "young" review. The guy hasn't even driven a car without power steering before. WOW! Old cars can be fun, too! It also gets me that 5 sec 0-60 is considered "not that fast". Crazy.
I don't give a fuck what you Ferrari and Lambo fanboys or you bang for your buck (Mustang/Camaro/Corvette) fanboys say or think, the NSX is better than any of those cars and there is more to a super car than just straight line performance for a lower price, the NSX has so many qualities that embarrasses Ferraris of the same era and sure it is not as fast as today's sports cars, but this is a 23 year old car and they kept it since 2005 and back in 2005, it was only a half-second slower from 0-60 than the 05 Ferrari F430, this proves how great this car is and no supercar will ever be like this again and technology does not matter for these kind of cars because the NSX is already a true driver's car, and you can find an NSX for the same price as the Ferraris of the same era that cost way more at that time proving the NSX having a better resale value making it a rarer and better car than Ferraris of the same era. The NSX still remains one of the best cars of the 90's. Thanks for this great unbiased review of this great car, please do an S2000 review as well, both AP1 and AP2 models, another great car made by Honda that has gone away after 2009.
It's already a classic in my opinion. Awesome car
You guys should review more older cars like these, like a throwback series or something.
Do more old cars reviews! Bring classic reviews to Redline!
Good review. The original NSX was definitely ahead of its time. The styling is timeless
Gtr fans will never understand f1 racing, yes anybody can blast down a drag strip, put that gtr on a f1 course and then watch the NSX. One word to say to u Nissan guys,Senna.
so is honda saving DOHC v6's only for nsx's?
When is Honda ever going to put a V8 in a production car? Imagine a Vtec V8? Tell me that doesn't sound fucking awesome.
Really cool that you were able to track one down for review, definitely a dream car. Though when you said you wanted to swap the exhaust I cringed, you can't do that to a classic like this lol.
I love the sound of that motor.
105°? Pfft. Thats a cool summer day in Phoenix! Come back when its 120°!
Acura lost it's way after they canned the 3rd generation TL. All of their cars and SUVS after that were garbage including their newest in the lineup. From ugly designs to tons of issues with the transmissions and lackluster sales I don't Acura will exist soon.
will you review the 2017 Acura NSX??
Kirk Lazarus III he did review the NSX 2018 one year ago. 😊
IF this car was produced today- with electronic power steering, a Nav screen, 7-speed auto w/shift paddles, and a few other modern touches and BOOM it would still fit in!!!
No paddles. Keep it stick.
Auto? Are you kidding me? Definitely get a stick! No compromise!
And it would have lost all its soul in the process.
vader11111
Have you seen Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc... they've ALL gone electronic automatic.
***** If they want to sell more, than yes they have to offer both auto and manual. Otherwise, it is best to just offer manual, just like the Civic Si, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, WRX STi, etc.
The original owner of my '91 NSX paid 20K over list, 83K. Some serious money then/now
Your audio setup is probably the best I've come across on any car reviewers on UA-cam.
As someone who is on my third Nsx in the last 12 years, I can attest that they hold there value and have actually gone up in value since I bought my first one almost 12 years ago... I've never sold one for less then I paid for it!!! Timeless design and bulletproof realizability plus the rarity add up to a amazing car to own... I enjoy just seeing it when I walk out into the garage almost as much as driving it....
I don't care what year this car is I mean who cares!! I would love to have an Acura NSX in my driveway!
I’d give my left ball for a 1st gen NSX.
dood at 12min mark wtf the nsx is electricpower steering it dose have power
Shocked the world??? I think thats a stretch!! LOL.... Keep up the great vids!!!
I so agree with you...amazing feeling cars from this era, wish automakers brought back that visceral, manual, mechanical feel...feels alive.
played grand turismo and would drive this car al day LOL i think thats why i still love the older accord coupes for the nsx rear
LOL, that's funny, my neighbor saw me drove up one day in the NSX and he said, wow, this is the car that he always picked in Grand Turismo, even though there are other cars with more HP, he likes the handling of the car much better and would be the only car he played with on GT.
I remember getting gran turismo 2 when i was 4, and falling in love with the nsx since then haha too many memories on that game
that's awesome! I'm going to keep a PS3 around just to play that game again, definitely a classic.
Damn this car is timeless beauty omg.
Wow, you are rough with that shifter. You trying to break it?
My cousin owns this car. He's got the really nice body kit on it and has a graphite hood. Less than 30,000 miles on it too. I believe it's right above 25,000 miles. Keeps it garaged for the most part. Occasionally takes it out.
Wow, I would have never imagine that you would review my dream car. Damn I love it!
Oh wow, are you kidding me!?
This is probably the least expected vehicle to appear considering all the previous modern vehicle, which is exactly what I needed!
Oustanding review. Honda at its best--when legends like Shigeru Uehara could use their "brush" more freely to bring masterpieces like this to the consumer. Now I suggest you review the S2000 Club Racer (CR) model introduced in 2008; Uehara's last creation before retirement as a "gift to enthusiasts in the U.S." The CR is on its stay to collector status.

The NSX is one of Honda's best creations~ You got to love an older Honda from the 1990s :) Simple, reliable, and fun to drive. Older Honda cars were all about the driving experience, and this NSX delivers in that
I dig the way your looking at older cars that are fun to drive, check out a 1971 510 Datsun with a 1600cc over head cam 4 speed rear wheel drive with independent suspension, 96 HP in a 2,000 pound car, I had one and I could beat 914 Porsches all day. I have a 2014 Fiesta ST with 68,000 miles on it that I bought after seeing your video on it. Keep up the awesome videos, your the best Car Journalist out there. The Fiesta Flash. 🤙🏼
With the help of Aryton Senna, he really helped Honda to make the NSX what it is back in the 1990s. This thing looks fantastic and it’s so different compared to other sports cars.
I'm a Corvette guy, but I will always love the NSX, and I always will. It's too bad it has a V6/275HP, but I still love it. The styling is near perfect, very cool and way ahead of it's time. Still turns heads.
Thank you , very nice review . Quite respectable towards your friend .
I keep thinking about your old pal , something xxxx300 , I always thought you worked together, but he went his way , didn´t he ?
I had a 1996 NSX-T until this year. Now I have a Lotus Evora GT. The car Honda should have made as the next gen NSX.
Hey! I know Tyson. :) He has been to my car show back in the day with the Legend. Tell him Anthony (OCDetails) says hi! I've got a guy with a '91 NSX who is bringing it over for a detail this week and I was just looking for videos to show my son why I'm so excited to have one in my driveway for a few hours and found this video. Great review. I have no doubt that car is going to stay looking brand new until the day Tyson sells it.
Had to get headphones for this review. I had a 1993 Legend L and loved it, wish I could get my hands on the NSX.
All you guys and your b.s. ohhh dct blah blah trust me I've driven almost every car produced.. If you hate so much on manual transmissions it's because either you suck ass at driving em never were taught too so you take the easy tap with a finger and yay I did it way out...and or never have raced a day in your life.. It makes a car so much more enjoyable you can keep your 8-9 speeds smg dct dsg 8-9 speed auto I'll enjoy a 5-6-7 speed manual
pretty sure the Honda s600 and s800s are rwd so its not their first rwd. Also I believe the CRX Sir with the b16 engine is the first mass produced Vtec engine not the NSX's C30
I thought they looked cool back in the day but the performance was hella lacking. The big plus with the NSX was the Acura reliability.
B16A is a first Honda VTEC engine, not C30A
No powersteering?
Great!
I like this car better and better.
I think Ayton Senna helped build this car.
Didn't he?
@2theredline Can you please do a review of the Honda CR-Z?! It would be extremely awesome if you did because I'm looking at purchasing one, however no one does an in-depth review and opinion like you do.
ILX already 90,000 miles? Wow, he must do a lot of driving.
NSX-R all day long... It'd be the first thing I'd import from Japan if the lottery was ever won.. And then buy the new one as well
I think this cars prices today are more than 80k in a few years they will go up to 100k or more, just because they are very good, reliable and great quality. Nowadays i dont see this quality, and its a shame.
What do you mean by "It still looks great today"? A great looking car is a great looking car. Why would it suddenly become ugly? I think this NSX is gorgeous and most new cars look like shit no matter how many blue teeth and iphone shits you put in it.
I'd buy one of the fixed-headlight NSXs in a heart beat. It's more unique than cars like the 911 Turbo S or a Lamborghini Gallardo.
Thanks for the peek.
We're not "spolied" by today's fat, thick steering wheels with buttons all over, though. They suck.
You are wrong. The first vtec engine was b16a, found on 89-91 integra XSis, civic SiRs and crx SiRs
When he came to a stop, he didn't turn the wheel in the direction he wan'ted to go before coming to complete stop. You get use to doing that with a manual steering car. A good bit of sports cars back then came with manual steering From MR2 to Ferrari. Its almost easier to name sports cars that did come with power.
I was trying to identify where in the valley you were. I recognized it was Scottsdale but it was when you passed Hayden and McDowell that I was able to pinpoint the neighborhood you were cruising in :D
The 1990’s NSX will still be running when the new Corvette is out of warranty and starting to break.lol gots to love a reliable sports car!
If anyone's interested in hearing what the v10 sounded like, search for "Honda nsx prototype on the ring," it sounds insane!
I love American muscle cars, Ford Mustang specifically, but this one is a good and nice exception. ;)
Thank you Yamaha for your v-tech technology . Honda, Ford, Toyota, etc etc etc......
The leather that "is actually in pretty good shape" does not appear to be original. I could only see about 3/4 of the bottom cushion of the driver's seat in the video but it is missing the gathers that the original seats would have had.
The vtec kicks in at 5800 it seems you kept shifting rite before should have at least revved to 6500 to get the vtec sound. You cant hurt that thing reving to 8k.
You came to Phoenix at the wrong time of the year with all this heat! So you review older model cars too now? Nothing bad about that but just changes it up a little with all the modern cars. Good job
So hilarious your channel is called Redline reviews and you didn't rev to anywhere near!
Nice car but I wouldn't pay 60K for one today. That's a lot for what amounts to a novelty.
I enjoyed this review. Good Job! I would be interested in your review of an Integra Type R.
Corvettes don't hold their value in general. A 1991 Vette is cheap compared to a NSX
Idc what cars faster, this is a dream car of mine, just gorgeous. Much better looking than a corvette or mustang
Supercar??!!! lol my G coupe has more HP and torque than this thing .
Senna helped developing the handling of the NSX.
The good old days.
Very nice find, one of my faves. I love your reviewing skills too!
looks so much like the C5 vette in front, and 3/4 of the quarter panels in front.
I bet the sun visors are split. I know mine are. Seems no one can escape. Gorgeous in red though!
Loves the words 'basically' and 'actually'. ROR
Sofyan Bey is fast becoming my favourite reviewer. Honda to the world.
240sx, though.
Why are we forgetting Supra
Because as good as it was, it can't test ;D
The B16 was Honda's first use of VTEC in a production car.
My neighbor owns one. She is a garage queen I have only ever seen it come out when he was taking it out for showcases in the summer
Good Review Of 1992 Acura NSX. 🙂
Lol stop saying Acura we all know it's a Honda nice review though
