- The very best of the 1990's Japanese sports cars? The Nissan Bongo van you say? No it has to be the NSX, a legend then a legend now.

Respect to this guy for keeping it stock.
Johnny Bravo no respect for not driving it.
@@veedee4860 agreed, buying a car like this abs never driving it as about as bad as stancing the car.
A stock NSX is my dream car
You would love my uncles car then its a completely stock 1992 i believe it has the stock 5 spoke star alloys and it has 7500 miles its in perfect condition.
***** Lol he'd never sell it... He's had it for ages. He bought it new or barely used. Oh, and if you are just testing me I have a few pics of it.
mine too. . . plus a supercharger.
@@brasconator that's sad for the supercharger part
I will never forget being driven around Tokyo in an NSX in 1995 when I was only 18. Felt like the coolest car in the world.
Another great video Nick. Such a clean NSX, you can tell he really takes great care of it. I was lucky enough to drive one for 10 minutes last summer and I was blown away by how connected I felt to the driving experience and how great the visibility was. Legendary car.
As a 911 owner, but one who has driven the NSX, I absolutely love that vehicle. One of the most fun cars to drive even if it only has 290hp. Something that wasn't mentioned in detail was that it not only won the mag tests, but the performance just crushed the cars from Europe and did so for several years after. This car (like the GTR in 2008) forced Porsche and Ferrari to improve their game. Something else not mentioned is the chief engineer for the McLaren F1 looked to this car and not a Ferrari or Lambo as the one to beat and pattern many elements from.
Also unmentioned was the involvement of Ayrton Senna with the development of how the car drive and later Alex Zanardi assisting with the progression of the car later in its life.
Peter has 2 of my favorite cars all time and it appears he is very well versed on fine automobiles and appreciates the driver involvement as well. Props to Peter.
Well said!
These NSXes are gonna go up in value, they already have. Safe to say that these are going to be the most wanted Japanese car models of the 90s.
S2000 and the NSX Japanese masterpieces.
I'm agree but for me you need to concider the Mitsu Lancer Evo (for Rally specs and capabilites) and the 3000 GT VR4 V6 Twin turbos (in spyder version is better) + Nissan R37 and..... !!
S2000 next Nick, I'd be interested in your opinion, it's a car that divides people, very marmite!
The owner knows his car VERY well.
+Ace Campano Not so strong on the Ferraris mind you. :)
The condition of that NSX is truly amazing. What a great car!
Peter you are one lucky guy .. and this NSX is really lucky to be owned by someone like you. . I've always loved this car and the mitsubishi 3000gt .. I hope one day that I would own one of them. . Great review .. thanks for both of you guys.
2001, 27yr old, I'd just signed for a new Civic & the dealer let me take a used NSX they were selling out. I'm not sure who giggled and enjoyed more: you in this video or me then. Happy days, gorgeous, beautiful car. Great channel, keep it up.
Thank you, Nick, for an excellent job on the review. This is an amazing car. Thanks to Peter for the in-depth interview including all of the cool factoids about the NSX. Love the 911 Carrera S also.
That interior still looks fairly modern. With a central screen it could easily fit in today.
***** Those gauges are not modern at all, what are you talking about? Last I recall you spend most of your time looking at gauges when you're in a car then anything else. To add to that, the horn if you look at the steering wheel are two tiny buttons left and right. Nothing modern about pressing tiny buttons to honk your horn. That split second that it takes to find the horn button can be all the difference in the world.
That being said, I like everything about the NSX, the only thing I dislike is the interior (But yes the seats are good)
Bryan Tran I'm talking about the sloping centre stack and the general ergonomics. It's way ahead of its time.
Bryan Tran Man, that interior was designed 25 years ago, it still looks absolutely great. I actually can't think of a car with an interior as timeless and well designed as the NSX.
Even the gauges are beautifully designed and easy to read.
No fuss, just clean lines.
+c3vzn Ive seen a few already with that idea and it looks very modern. Im saving for my NSX haha
+Bryan Tran if you hold the steering wheel in the way its supposed to hold than your thumbs are an inch away from the horn buttons. So no split second stuff......
And the gauges arent dated in any way! This is called clean design in the graphic design segment. The only thing that looks dated is the big steering wheel and the air fenders.
YES!! The NSX is one of my all time favorite cars, so I've been waiting for this one. Great review as always, Nick!
love to see an unmolested example! need to find an FD rx7 as pristine as this.
abracing199 I wonder if such a beast still roams the earth. I would love to see it as well
+Nick Murray 2nd that. so many of us would love that review!
Well made video/show. Nice to see two car enthusiast appreciating the NSx. I didn't really fully appreciate this car until I saw this. Thank you for uploading this Nick.
Wow.. Just wow! Such an amazing car and video of course. Peter seems to be a true car enthusiast the way he talks about the NSX.
Awesome video Nick, can't wait for more!
Beautiful cars, beautiful home/neighborhood; he even has wall rack for his hats! Peter is a classy man with a modest personality. The background music fits the overall theme (no unnecessary upbeat music). This review is absolutely perfect.
Don't normally comment but great video Nick. Didn't know much about the NSX and it was a delight to watch you and proud owner enjoy the car. Even more of a delight to see you driving a manual!
What a beautiful NSX, amazing condition at any age. Wanted one of these since I was a kid. Nice video, thanks Nick
Excellent vid. Nice to have a sit down convo with the owner about the car who knows the car very well. I enjoyed that part just as much as the drive. And I did the math on 20k miles over 15 years. Only a little over 100 miles a month. What a beauty.
This is your best review Nick, do more reviews with the owners because Peters passion for this car made this video captivating to watch! Your videos are great, keep up the good work.
Nick, best car video you've done by far. Simple, understated, but with a ton of good information and viewing enjoyment. Owner is def. a car guy. When you're in Ohio I'll let you drive my 930 or Cayman. I once owned a year-1 Integra GSR w/the same VTEC and insane redline approach. Loved that car. What it lacked in torque it made up for in a screaming tach. Absolutely bulletproof. The 90s/early 2000s Acuras were the high-water mark for Honda America.
Thanks Nick for sharing this great review. Indeed the NSX is an automotive legend in its own right.
I like the pleasant soundtrack you used while looking at the outside of the car. And then the soundtrack from under the hood while you're driving!
Thanks Nick. I enjoyed that. I have owned four NSX's. It's been 13 years since my last one and I still think of buying my 5th all the time. It makes me mad that just now people are realizing how great of a car it is. No one listened to me back in the 90's and early 2000's. There loss.
I can just hear the heartache in your voice at the end there Nick! You really miss that 911 don't you. As much as I love your M4 and the car in general, I cannot wait to see what Porsche brings with the 991.2 and what you decide to do!
Great video! I immediately went looking for NSX's for sale after watching :)
Amazing video Nick! Nice to see such a pristine NSX, not to mention the added bonus of the 911 in the garage! Excited to see the buying and options process on your next purchase of the 991 911.2 which I hope is the one you choose over the turbo.
Smokin with Chris Yes I am excited for that as well : )
When I was in high school, my best friend's uncle had an NSX. When I first heard its headlights popped up, I was so amazed, it's unlike anything I've heard before; very high quality and high tech.
Then a few years after we graduated from college, another best friend of mine saved enough money and bought a used NSX. Until this day he still wouldn't let it go...
Your friend has great taste in cars. The NSX is one of my favorite cars of all time and his Porsche is the same color as mine inside and out and has the manual. I'm glad to NSX has held up and is still a blast to drive. Let him know the gearshift in the 911 really loosens up over time.
Thank you for this video, very well made and produced. Much respect to the owner for keeping it stock and cared for.
Like a time warp - brings me back to my days of owing my 1991 NSX - a amazing machine - great video
Nick! Would love to see you review some more 90s Japanese icons. Perhaps a Skyline in New Zealand ?
That's a freakin' good review, excellent review. This is what a NSX deserves. Thank you Nick
Also loved the one I tried.. and like you the engine in particular captivated me!!! I want one!!
The first time I heard of an Acura/Honda NSX was in the Playstation video game, Gran Turismo. As a kid, I always got excited whenever I saw a NSX on the road because it was such a rare opportunity to see one in real life. I wish more people could recognize this car for what it was at the time; a super-car that is fun, fast and piratical to own.
Love it when owners know their cars so well, this guy is a real enthusiast.
Fantastic review Nick. Your production quality and level of detail of review really has become second to none. I'm quite young so never really appreciated the NSX up until now exactly because of what you said about the fairly mediocre power output. But after this video I'm craving one almost as much as I crave a 991 GT3.
Cleanest original NSX I've seen bar none . Owner has done and excellent job taking care of it...
Best review ever!. Thank you Nick, from Australia.
Great review, Nick! The car is amazing!
I was really pleasantly suprised and impressed by the nice sound from it. Also was very interesting to see the engine and under the bonnet. Must be nice to own such a pristine and stock NSX.
NSX is awesome classic. One of the best sport cars imho. And my God! That Carrera looks fantastic as well. I am excited to see your next 911 combination. Good luck Nick!
Safe bet that this is the most mint NSX in existence? Amazing. Great job on keeping it all factory.
I'll put my Spa Yellow 97 up against it. There are a fair number still around that have fallen into the hands of the Ricers.
Another great video Nick. What a beautiful example of an NSX with just 19k on the clock! Phenomenal car for its time. I'll take a guess Peter is ex-military. Pilot even.
Can tell that dude loves his car! Nice example. He's right about the gear change too, much nicer than similar era porsche.
Lovely car! Even your background music sounds like the soundtrack of a feel good blockbuster 90s movie!
Great video! Love the sound of that V6😍
That's a truly outstanding example of an all-time classic sports car. Excellent video and review which did this beautiful machine full justice.
I have always loved the NSX. This is perhaps the first review of the NSX I recall watching which doesn't mention that the late Ayrton Senna himself was involved in developing this car while he raced for the then dominant Honda powered McLaren F1 team, which probably goes some way to explaining why it was and remains so good. No bad thing, the car has so many anecdotes and cool stories associated with it (the F16 inspired glasshouse design) that it would be impossible to cover everything in one video, although I noted the photo of Senna while the owner was turning the pages of the book.
How did it feel to get back into the M4 after having driven the NSX?
Simon Chan The NSX was a lot like driving a 911 to me, so light and responsive, the M4 feels so GT cruiser after being in the NSX
Wow, that man has excellent taste in sports cars. And you can tell he puts the utmost care into ownership.
Where was this shot? Looks familiar.
Love the car. I have a '91 I just picked up that I'm having sorted for a few small things, but I've gotten to drive it about 1,000 miles and it is the best car I've ever driven. I'm right there with you in loving these cars 🙂
Beautiful review Nick!
Come to Chicago and you can review my S2000 :)
Love your videos, Nick. Keep it up.
Fantastic video - kudos to both you fellas! Awesome Carrera at the end, too.
When I lived in Silicon Valley, you would see these fairly frequently when they first came out - including one guy whose plate was WOZ... :) I heard he got the first one in CA, but not sure if that's true.
But as the years went on, you wouldn't see them as often. Here in San Diego where I live now, I think I've seen maybe one in the last decade.
The guy has great taste in cars! His 991 has the most beautiful color combination, absolutely loved it.
Great, now even more material out there to hype up NSX prices while I'm struggling to find one for myself. Nice review Nick~
soupy Sorry buddy : )
great video! i had goosebumps and watery eyes the whole way through..... one day I'll have one
To jump start an NSX, there is a positive terminal jump box near the airbox in the engine bay that the positive cable connects to and the negative on a bolt on the throttle body. No need to dig down to the battery in the front.
what a nice Sunday, I just spend well worth the 22:06 of my life watching this video. wish I can own this exotics NSX T 💭
i totally agree about the pop up headlights! totally have to have them
I had a friend who had a 91 Red NSX, it was a work of art.
Nice to see a car so well taken care of.
Hi Nick, You create great videos that have thorough reviews.... can you make one regarding purchasing a super car. How much do you negotiate on price or are some of these cars so sought after you're likely to pay over list? What about ordering a car?Are you stuck on the price which they've placed on everything? I heard you get better interest rates? OR leasing a high end sports car. What should one expect in regards to get a decent deal?
Another great review Nick, alot of other car UA-camrs could learn from your excellent audio.
Did you ask Peter how many miles he got from his rear tyres? I think around 3000 miles was the norm.
Ka kite from Norn Iron
***** yea makes me realize I definitely need a mic for my vlogs and reviews lol the standard go pro audio isn't this good at all
Nice house and nice garages. Love the NSX too.
Since I started watching the older Best Motoring shows, in which they always take the NSX as a benchmark, i truly am a fan of the car.
Nice video, thanks for putting it together.
FYI - you jump start the car from the rear - there are connecting posts on the engine.
who holds the steering wheel like that??
I want to get the current nsx and keep it for the next 30 years like this guy
Nick what part of CT are those roads they look like a pleasure to drive on.
Phil C Its around the Saugatuck Reservoir
A lovely video of a most iconic car. I would just love, say, a '97 to '02 model in red with black hard top and relatively low mileage. But then, wouldn't we all, I suppose?
So Nick, I heard you're hosting TopGear now. Congrats mate
The word back in the day was if you could afford a Ferrari you bought the NSX as your beater car and left the Ferrari in the garage. Nice clip. I enjoyed that .
Have just gotten back from Japan where I drove a 90 model (with a few tasty mods) around the Hakone region. Amazing sound with an uprated exhaust, really great feeling with no power steering etc. Pretty quick too! Nearly kept up with a FD RX7 ha.
I love the "im in love" music that plays when you look at the 911. That m4 is so temporary as soon as the updated 911 comes out.
Beautiful car, its nice to see a stock NSX especially one so clean.
You made my evening Nick... Excellent rewiew and mind blowing car... Love the way it seems like a plane taking off when you speed up, and ooohhh... THAT SOUND! Nice to see how these people treat their beauties as they were daughters. Well, they really are... Nick Murray how do you find them? I mean...are they all your friends or you just meet them in the street and say:"Hey... Nice car... Can I rewiew it?" And... Another question: what's the F-150 on your fb profile?
Giacomo Vari It is a mix of people I know and people that watch my channel and offer that car to me. What F-150 on my FB profile?
Nick Murray I've replied on fb ;)
It's truly a lovely car and this video has made me love it even more.
I really love the commentary, very enjoyable. I always had a liken for this car. I see more Ferrari than an NSX.
This is such a minimalist sports car with superb reliability. I think Peter and I have the same taste, I love myself a Porsche 911 as well.
You got a bit nostalgic at the end, huh?!
I see you buying a new Porsche soon. :)
My used dream car, and extremely useful and reliable as a everyday car! Only McLaren and maybe Ferrari with the 458/California achieved that few years ago, this is over 20! Its one of engineering greats, and highly underrated by the public for its time. I hope i can buy one in the future, specially if i could get my hands on the original Senna one that was for sale in Portugal some time ago, but for that one i need a lottery first. :D
Another thing not mentioned was the downward-forward visibility looking at the road in front of you. You feel like you can reach out and touch it, it is so close.
One of the best video reviews of the NSX, I'm actually looking online to buy that technical book now! Totally random, but can someone tell me what that song playing in the end was called? It's so soothing...
Oh my. This has been my dream car since I was 17. My first car was an Acura Integra, then I owned two more... Saw an NSX in the dealership around 1998 and I fell in love. I did own a Chrysler Conquest for a day (before it blew up!), so that's as close as I got. I'd take this NSX over a Ferrari, Porsche, and even a Viper! (I think..)
This nsx is I the closest to the brand new one you can possibly experience. And the gearstick movement looks just spectacular on the video, I can't imagine how good it must really feel
Hey Nick, may I ask what kind of go pro windshield mount you use? Thanks!
What a fantastic video. Epic
What's the name of the song being played around 13:05?
Amazing shot at 3:09. Awesome car!
Tell Peter "Thanks". I remember when the NSX first came out, the rear tires were good for 10K mi. I did't care, I wanted one, and still do. I believe it was Mr. Honda who flew in the F-16, after that even the Accord' design was affected. There were some who derided the NXS for its lack of pedigree. I think they were scared of the competition.
Peter has a sweet house and a great selection of hats.
I also prefer the popup lights versus the more late model with the glass covers
Also significant is that Aryton Senna helped a lot with the development work with the NSX.
at 13:00 minutes in the video, the music and the house and garden and the nsx together looks like its a fairy tail! A totaly healthy world with no problems it seems! Dreamy......Oh and if there were a party i would give a shit on the party and would stand around this clean nsx and stare at it as long as I could!
That NSX is in truly amazing condition, and what a great car; and the paint is actually red, not pink! In a decade or so, it will be worth more than that shiny new Porsche! It's such a shame when I consider the engineering Honda were capable of 25 years ago, then looking at their current line-up. How did they stray so far from the path?
Such an iconic car, not really a Honda fan but the NSX was special. Another thing i notice at 13min.. American houses are so beautiful, I wish we had houses like this in Australia that didn't cost $3-4+ million dollars.
C4 Z06 ?? surprised no one caught that... ZR-1 lol. also what music is playing at the end?
Liked ig in the first 3 seconds! I love this guy!
