Bonnie Pointer, who became famous as a member of the Pointer Sisters, has died at age 69. A representative said the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
“It is with great sadness that I have to announce to the fans of the Pointer Sisters that my sister Bonnie died this morning,” said Anita Pointer of her sister, Patricia, aka Bonnie. “Our family is devastated. On behalf of my siblings and I and the entire Pointer family, we ask for your prayers at this time.”
Bonnie was one of the founding members of the group and left in the mid-1970s to pursue a solo career.
“Bonnie was my best friend and we talked every day,” Anita said in a statement. “We never had a fight in our life. I already miss her and I will see her again one day.”
The family’s youngest sister, June, died in 2006. A few months ago, Bonnie and Anita released a tribute song for June, “Feels Like June.”
A spokesperson said it was Bonnie’s final recording.

Amen!! Never knew June Pointer in person, but in these videos she gave her all and now that she's gone, we have her performances to sit back and enjoy. High energy, charisma, beautiful smile, melodious voice, wonderful talent.

In my experience, whenever someone on UA-cam says June's voice was like an angel's, 1) that someone is June herself, and 2) that someone is RIGHT! ☝️

Goodness!!...I have been trying to find this song for the longest..when I heard it on the "Oldies" black station here in Buffalo NY I thought it was a black girl group from the 50s or 60s..I had no idea it was the Pointer Sisters from 1981..God YHWH is Good!!..❤ ❤ ❤..

Every time I view this video, the very shy June Pointer on Soul Train several years earlier with her three older sisters come to mind. She really matured and helped to carry the Pointer Sisters group to stardom! June you are truly missed, hope you and Bonnie are singing up a storm. RIP
Awwww, some of these are absolutely adorable. June must really have some Leo in her, whatever her birthday, because only a Leo would know the angst of having to congratulate oneself for great accomplishments because others are too inattentive to even notice you exist. Glad there was at least ONE exception! And yes, she seems to have blossomed between the 70s and the early 80s. I wonder if she was...waiting for something.

@@traveonsmith256 Yes sir, you are correct. Forgive me, I was enjoying a vacation from reality last summer. (I needed it. The whole world went insane with covid fascism, so I decided to call the world's bluff and re-raise it with a willful delusion that glorified June into the functional equivalent of God. I contorted quite a few indisputable facts of her life in order to sustain that fantasy, e.g., I pretended that she faked her death. I gaslit myself, basically. And it was the best decision of my life. If I hadn't, then I suspect the planet's mindless slide into dystopia would have dangerously depressed me. Daydreaming about June Pointer preserved my soul.)
