By the end they were pretty much armed with laser beams.
Theres actually an anime about that. Modern Japan military invading a medival fantasy world lol. It went as expected. (Anime is GATE for short or Gate: Jieitai Kano Chi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri in long)
@Cressecredan I have to correct you for that, Rori Mercury is 961 years old, just a half century she will turn into a deity spirit then turn into a goddess. And yes, best girl- she can also change her form so she's not just a loli but a package of best sizes.

@@diegeigergarnele7975 the point is speed. You essentially get 6 fletchings for free against buildings which is a big deal as it will allow you to take out enemy towncenters in early castle age with ease. It's the best rush tactic this gametype has to offer and it's really hard to stop.
All he needed to do was build skirmishers or crossbows and keep researching fletching, he didn't even need the light calvary. I've modded a conquerors expansion to allow researching all techs 4 times and ranged units were always better than melee.

Something I learned recently: your trade carts can trade with an enemy market, even in 1vs 7. For the 256x cheat, if you spam the increase trade cart speed your carts and cogs zoom around the map, and generate thousands or millions of gold. Build something like 10-20 cart army, send it into and through the nemy base, and they'll auto route back to your market. With 10-20 at least one should make it. Oddly the resource that drags the most is food. Farmers don't gather faster, but also take longer between drop off if you spam handcart. Fishing ships on the other hand and provide a continuous income of food, with big boosts with food when the villagers finally drop of (or you strategically place town centers and ring the bell to force mass drop off).
