Having just seen the Lithianian stats and techtree in streams, I do not find the early game rushy. Maybe a monk rush to get as many relics as possible. Needed for the Cavalry Buff and to offset the weak gold mining. And then you got the choice if you want to go cav or monk focus - hardly enough gold for both. Among the new ones, Cumans are *the* rush civ. They can go full on assault or eco boom with Feudal age, but their Imperial is not overly strong. Also they do not get even Stonewalls or Tower Tech.

This is one thing I don't get, when I watch Spirit play against an EXTREME AI, they do basically nothing....they attacked you with a few man at arms and archers and one ram attempt... that was basically it. It wasn't early or anything, it was like at the 25 minute mark of your waiting 30 to attack. I play against the Hard AI so 2 levels down, but while they don't really attack you in feudal, the second they hit castle, which varies between 20-30 minutes, you get hit by a swarm of skirms and archers or around 10 knights if you don't have walls up, which is then proceeded by a spam of rams. I just don't get how they can AFFORD to do this while still aging up semi quickly. I've had early castle age attacks that they sent about 30 skirms at me, that is about what? 600 food 600 wood? That isn't a small amount, moreso early game. Similar experience here. I noticed it took the AI a long time to hit imperial, so it probably has something to do with it - I would have to watch the replay, but I suspect that the TC which got ranged by Spirit's defensive castle was doing their imp upgrade. That might explain why it took them so long to age up. It's usually incredible at booming.
Agreed, I get exactly the same experience. Normally by 30 minutes the AI is spamming units like crazy..you can literally follow the lines of units they are spamming all the way back to their base with no signs of stopping. Extreme AI doesn't seem to be making as many units or being as aggressive as the hardest AI on the HD edition. I enjoy more casual games so I usually play against the AI on hard and play slow and build nice cities with walls and stuff but I have played against the hardest AI a few times... and each time it's hitting me with large armies relentlessly after around the 20 minute mark. Didn't seem to do that here. Just a few groups of crossbows and skirms.
Would be good to see you rematch given the updates to extreme AI. New one seems MUCH better than old one. Same rules: no rush, no towers, no stone walls so the AI exploits aren't so easy.
1:04 did...did you say that on purpose? Because that's actually historically accurate for the most part. Also, super excited to see more of your commentaries.
@@Jartran72 He could have picked literally any other high armor unit in the game and the point would have been made. Rather, he choose the traditional enemy of the old Lithuanians, a nice historical anecdote most people wouldn't get, such as yourself, moron.
An idea for a third match vs extreme AI if you're interested: leave out the "no towers" and "no walls" rule, but increase the "no attack period" to 45 minutes. Then play 1v1, but on a MAX SIZED map, with water in the center if possible, and max population of course. I have a feeling that a high skilled player like you dominates the AI in map control on a tiny map like this, and they soon have nowhere to build or run to. Imagine the long, huge battles in my scenario, including the naval battles, where you could test out full capabilities of the AI when it has nearly infinite room to spread and a lot of time to do so undisturbed.
How is the new extreme AI? It looked a little smarter in the free for all, but i dont think that it is as good as promised - it has many of the old flaws and even seems to do worse in some situations. I then watch this and they send what I wouldn't even categories as an "army" AFTER 30 minutes of booming. Something seems very suspect...
@@PhilHevican yes..me too until i realized the ai had 3 archery camp...at medium level...
it's seems very suspect you say..i know the feeling but it's wrong..
we suck at this game..this is the fact :-)
Please, please, please more gameplay videos. They are definetly my favorite type of videos from you!
I feel like the Ai is no where near as hard as it used to be. The ai in the HD version was 10X harder, and would rush you early as possible.
yeah I'm confused as fuck right now. Literally nothing happened in this video...
@@ezioaugustus2621 the castle killed most of the enemies but yeah. Not much happened
I had it set to 2v2 and I got double rushes while my teammate ai was idle. I found out later they started out with way more animals than I did
@@magicmanscott40k Its been known that the AI has always been cheating. However, its basically known that if the AI has the same amount of resources as the player does, then it has no chance, as some players know how to do the fedural age rush, or perhaps the tower rush.
@@Lonezewolf only the original ai used Cheats, the new and DE ai don't use Cheats.
Please keep playing or streming matches. Really love these.
28:30 You freakin' MONSTER! :)))
Oh man the speed of this guy is just amazing
2:31 Sounds just liek a sound from Empire Earth!
Thanks for explaining the one elephant food source thing. All this time I wondered why I didn't see a second animal lure. I thought I was getting robbed lol
Is it not worth getting the relics for the + cav attack here? I thought that would be pretty good considering there are 2 relics pretty close.
Okay sorry I didn't realise you got them later in the video
EDIT: Can you show the way the new Cobra car looks and attacks? Or any new cheat codes that have been added
That move at 17:30 where you get the villagers on the other side of the castle was genius 😂
13:30
The AI thought mills are giants.
So many spirit of the law videos lately! Thank you for gracing us with your sultry voice.
Waiting for the new civs videos :D
Love the new AoE DE 2 and your videos about it
I'd like to watch you play a navy based game at least once.
Naval Action ! best game ever !!
I’m a new player and your videos have helped me learn the game, thanks man👍
Best aoe youtuber
Spirit: AoE 2
SamuraiRev: AoE 3
(my personal view)
Only I need a AoM player and AoE 1.
@@davidcalixtro2612 definitely theViper for aom xD prostagma
So how about this for a new efficiency: when you send vills to deer, shift click them to each deer together, avoiding them splitting out?
i cant tell, if Spirit is such a good player, or the extreme ai isnt extreme...
I have very low elo in aoe, and i can beat 2 extreme AI even if i let them boom. So probaly the extreme ai isnt extreme.
Loving all these uploads man keep them coming
Spirit did you know that you now can queue different type of actions with your villagers? Like sheep-->boar-->sheep or mill-->deer--berries?
especially the first one means that you don't have to micro nearly as much.
Nobody:
Villager: ''Hey, Mr. Deep!''
Thanks, now I can't unhear it.
No he had a stroke and those were random sounds... ofc he said it on purpose...
@@Jartran72 He could have picked literally any other high armor unit in the game and the point would have been made. Rather, he choose the traditional enemy of the old Lithuanians, a nice historical anecdote most people wouldn't get, such as yourself, moron.
yeah, probably a hint to the polish lithuanian teutonic war and the Battle of Grunwald :-)
20:58 "anus, anus, anus, anus" hahaha
You ruined it forever with that Spirit of the La Hire joke, that's all I can hear now :D
Spirit of The Law: "I am not going to attack until after 30 minutes"
Length of the video: 34 minutes
Me: "Wow... OK..."
Ndjock Michel bro. In game time 30 mins=15 mins real time
@@Recker096 Yeah, thanks. I'd figured that out.
I love these videos . especially 1v1 vs Extreme AI
How is the new extreme AI? It looked a little smarter in the free for all, but i dont think that it is as good as promised - it has many of the old flaws and even seems to do worse in some situations. All in all, no one of the AoE 2 Players I play with plans to buy or switch to AoE 2 DE, because we arent convinced that it will meet Voobly or even HD standarts.
DE is so much smoother and polished than HD in Multiplayer, have you seen online play in it?
@@Christopher4700 The servers arent stresstested yet. iI saw a few games with laggs, most without, but I havent seen any chinese or vietnamese players playing american or european players. Also i saw many bugs, like glitches and bugging sprites. We hope that the release version will be fixed - but until then we wont switch.

I will never forget the feeling I got when I first beat a moderate 1v1....then here’s Spirit lmao
next game: Spirit of the Law vs. 3 Extreme DE KI's, Spirit: Ethiops; KI: Goths, Vietnams, Inkas - No rush 20. Good luck on this challange ;)) will see if u accept
Its time to rise again for Spirit after 2 years.
it seems that the villagers say something like "they miss the deal"
every time they build something :v
I keep hearing “Hey Mr Bean”
They're just saying "we're going to build" in lithuanian.
meanwhile, Bulgarians just say "prick lasagna" and "robocop"
Can someone explain me what happened at 14:03? Why did the AI suddenly retreat? Seems to me like the whole strategy here against the ai depends on building economy while the AI is faffing around attacking random targets and then retreating.
