- Residents in a Beverly Grove neighborhood are terrified after a burglary crew has relentlessly targeted the area in a string of costly thefts. Neighbors said the burglars are hitting homes on an almost daily basis, oftentimes staking out potential properties before striking.
Many homeowners have increased security measures by installing cameras and motion sensors around their properties. However, it seems those preventative measures have not deterred the thieves.
KTLA's Chris Wolfe reports on May 3, 2024.

ITS 100% LEGAL TO CONCEAL CARRY A FIREARM WHILE ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY
Yeah but you go to jail if you use it
@@stevesabo1269 NOT TRUE. NOT TRUE AT ALL
Not entirely true, but mostly. That said, so what? It is still a felony crime to USE any form of deadly force in the protection of mere property. If the perps are there to steal jewelry, and aren't presenting an imminent threat of harm to you or your loved ones, you will be guilty of a crime if you fire on them - even in your own home. This is true in nearly all of our states. Mere property is not worth anyone's life here.
@@omi_god That law should stay in the US. Mere property?
@@gamej7946 Are you trying to claim that an object - mere property - is worth more than a human life? The law disagrees.

You know it's a hopeless case when even the mayor's house was broken into 😒
Mayor Bass just gave a state of the city speech and she didn't mention what she was doing to increase public safety and to punish criminals. This is what happens when you have a Democratic Socialist Mayor of LA, who cares more about equity than public safety of all.
She's enabling that culture.
Usual suspects.

Hope so! Most of the people that supported and voted for the soft on crime politicians and policies need to deal with the consequences directly or they’ll continue with their current voting habits.
@@db-rc5fr None of the politicians we have elected are "soft on crime", troll boy.
You guys need to stop with this line of crap - it's not true, and we know it's not true. It just makes you seem uninformed and...troll-like.

You need to get a Remington security device.
Or Mossberg Theft Deterrent System.
The homeowners were not home when the burgulars struck.
Burglars are getting smart by going into the rich neighborhood
This is when I am glad to be poor.
Keep in mind many in the rich neighborhoods support and vote for soft on crime policies.

People need to Arm themselves.
Restore Law and Order .
Law and order needs to start from the border. And everyone needs to be accountable including the govt officials and LEOs. Time to clean house and take extreme ownership like real adults.
They have halted permits for regular citizens in LA county. Is it all starting to make sense?
Time for homeowners day and night to start a neighborhood watch!!
People need to fight back.
Why doesn't the media like KTLA and others go to the local government offices and continually ask questions, in person, day in and day out, repeatedly and often, of them in order to put more pressure for the government to change the policies regarding crime? Why do they just report it without using their pulpit to put more pressure on those who can actually make a difference? Why not? Surely the media can, but they won't.
They don't want to make them upset.
During the BLM riots when looters were destroying Santa Monica, ABC anchor Marc Brown was talking out both sides of his mouth. Much of the time UNDERSTANDING why they were doing it and explaining it to viewers. Then this is sad, but they kids - these kids don’t got nuffin’.
The media has been complicit with politicans and police for not wanting to put out mugshots of suspects or arrestees because it impacts black criminals more. They won’t give out descriptions of rape suspects because it impacts black more, forget protecting DNA women.
Liberal media...all main stream media are part of the problem. Independant jouralists/stringers who do get banned from sites for showing the truth.
Because KTLA is a business and there is no money in doing that.

And yet no one is doing anything about it!!!!! He’ll probably be re-elected!
And how DID these "on-edge" residents all vote?
Against the big orange meany of course.
What could go wrong when you elect people, vote for the policies and the party that enables criminals in the name of social justice?
Some of the residents victimized are learning though, take a look at their comments to the local media:
"The burglaries are happening in our neighborhood daily, sometimes twice a day. Look at our local government, look at our district attorney. It’s not working. Who is benefitting from all these changes? Certainly not us. As someone who voted for politicians who passed these laws, it is extremely concerning and something that we, as an entire community, have to change going forward.”
This has absolutely nothing to do with the people we elected. You guys keep parroting the same exact lies - it's almost like someone is FEEDING you this BS. Gee...I wonder who that might be...
@@DerrickW30 The local government is not making it easier on criminals. The crimes being described in this piece are not misdemeanor crimes - they are serious FELONIES, and when the perps are caught, they will face justice.

The mayor and DA said crime is down
Turns out when you stop arresting criminals crime stats go down.
Yeah. They say lots of things…..,
Crime IS down. This report doesn't stand as proof that it is not. We SEE more crimes happening today because there are millions of CAMERAS everywhere today that weren't there 10 years ago.
That's because they don't prosecute. The crime statists are based on convictions.

Amen! I was just watching another UA-cam news clip that a food truck vendor was beaten up and robbed in Long Beach and he was robbed for the second time I think in eight months. I don't understand these thieves and their mindset. I have disabilities and I still work my butt off I don't even think about stealing anything. I dream about winning the lottery though. I left Southern California in 2008 and I've been in Texas now for 11 years and the crime is getting pretty bad here too. There was this 18 year old who was a serial thief breaking into cars all over town. He got caught and he was on the news and had a nasty attitude and then recently while out on bond, he was involved in a shoot out and the cops shot him and he died and his mom is on the news crying about her sweet baby boy and she looks like a thug too 🤦🏼♀️
Democrat voters got us here 😊
Their job IS breaking and entering! Duh! What do you think people who come to this country with nothing do once their government benefits run out? They cannot return to their origins, they will not be deported. So they look around them, in jealousy, of the nice things and homes Americans have and band together and do stuff like this. It's only going to get worse.
Lot of them are from South America too.
Cry bout it

Exactly! Whats become of our Cities & Gov officials as in Gascon still in office, when i thought he had been sent to Jail then saw him on TV a week or two ago?
✔So whats up with this Issue of Not housing the Bad Guys?
No where to house them? I could of lived Without the New Bullet Train to Vegas, instead could of made another Big Prison out in the Desert, especially after closing the LA Jails.😮
The cops were too busy going after college students in tents but didn’t have time to go after real criminals.

they might say data says crime is down, but many dont report anymore as nothing will be done. on top of that newsom closes prisons all the time expecting county to take them in but they arent so they are released.

@ktla5 what about all the Robberies in poor neighborhoods? Why don’t you guys report on that? Does it only matter in wealthy areas? We take matters into our hands. But what about those who can’t fend for themselves
You have to start a Neighborhood watch.
Need private security, virtual security guard. Gascon is to blame, vote for Nathan Hochman in November.

So in 2024, All security alarm should come with cameras and allow you live stream of it when you are not home. As well as most will even send you alerts tp your phone with pictures when they suspect someone is on camera. This allows you to call the police when you are not even home. Just saying.
What good would that be if the police response isn’t timely?
