PG’s Perry Bean hung with JB Brubaker, Brent Rambler and Dustin Davidson of the Grammy-nominated metal band August Burns Red before their year-end show in Nashville, on December 14, 2015.
Sure JB’s main guitar looks badass (and fast) with its paint stripes, but the white flare is actually just gaffer tape placed on the guitar so the guitarist can support his favorite NFL team-his hometown Philadelphia Eagles. This Ibanez RGA121 is loaded with EMG 85 and EMG 81 active pickups and is strung with D’Addario .010-.052 Nickel Wound XL.
Just like JB, Brent relies solely on Ibanez axes, and in his case, he prefers Ibanez FR Prestige models also equipped with EMG 85/EMG 81 pickups and D’Addario .010-.052 Nickel Wound XL strings.

I like how both Brent and JB could tell you how many resisters and capacitors every one of their guitar pedals has, and Dustin is like "Yeah I turn this knob down, I don't know what it does tho I just know I want it down" lol.

Bass player could just talk for days about his bass.. Such a solid band each member master of his craft.
it's humbling to see musicians who play and tour for a living soo passionate about their gear . Goes to show they truly love what they do and deserve all the success they have.

Add the fact they're all super humble, they don't act like "yeah we're the best shit"
Dustin as really talented. He is just as good of a guitarist as J.B and Brent and has even played solos on some of their albums. So the band actually has 3 killer guitarist, one of them also happens to be a good bassist as well
The Digitech Drop is absolutely incredible.
I have the whammy version and it's my favorite pedal.
I think Perry does the best job of Rig Rundowns for sure!

I glad he finally got his own signature Ibanez. JB is such a cool, down to earth player! A lot of people don't like Perry, but I think he's prob just nervous meeting all these cool bands!!

Take it a step further, get a kemper for amping and an axe fx exclusively as a pedalboard
These guys seem really cool, really nice. And obviously know their stuff too, very cool.
The coolest dudes ever. I've met them a few times and every time they are amazingly nice. They are great live, too.

Am I the only person who love seeing Kemper/Axe-Fx or whatever in this show? I love it when finally there's some "progress" with 21st century technologies in the guitar rig world.

I do as well. People bitch about them being shitty for rig rundowns, but people aren't going back to huge back-breaking racks so you can get enjoyment from a single 10 - 30 minute video.
Blu I don't find it boring; i am more interested in how people incorporate those units to rigs; they may have some interesting pedals, interesting guitars, there are tons of other things to care about.
Most people who complain about Kemper/Axe-FX are just ''bedroom'' players,not touring musicians,who never had to organise an international tour,travelling to different countries even continents and paying a road crew.Wolf Hoffman from Accept is also using a Kemper on tour and he said in an interview:''When I'm in the studio,I use my vintage Plexis and custom shop amps.But when I'm on tour with Accept,I can't bring all this stuff with me,it's neither practical nor financially realistic.Also,9 of 10 people can't tell the difference between a Kemper or similar units and a real amp,not o mention most of the audience doesn't care in the first place about your gear,they just want a good live show.In the end of the day,all this digital stuff gets the job done and makes my life easier as a touring musician,not to mention the job of our roadies. ''
Keep in mind,Wolf Hoffman is really oldschool,touring since the late 70's with Accept.
Yeah, but still what i don´t like is that you usually are no able to see which pedals give the live sound, it will be nice if they show us the programming used for different effects or sounds

I’m seeing and meeting abr in august I’m so excited it’s going to be my first metal show! Love these guys until I wait for my show on the 12th I been listening and really just looking into all the band members, they seem like really great funny genuine people! Can’t wait to meet them, they already mean so much to me as they are helping me through a lot

They're SO GOOD live, it's unbelievable. Them and Parkway Drive are so tight in concert that it hurts my brain. In-ear monitors really force a band to step up their skill and technicality. I'm going next month as well, have a blast!

20:10 He's right. My power supply for the EHX Magnum 44 was bad out of the box! Still running the second one for nearly 2 years now and it's been great so far. But there's an easy fix for this: Just get any other 24V DC - 3000 mA power supply. There are a ton of options here and they all seem better then the stuff the EHX comes with. But respect for actually running a bass rig through one of these lol

+Nick Headlee You only need a power amp if you plan on running it to a cab. If you go direct to the board you don't have to use one. In this instance he's using one to power a 4x12.

I wouldn't think so. Just watch you don't have it in a really hot area. Just because you would have the adhesive becoming more pasty and stick to the guitar a lot.
