Crockpot potpourri, I dehydrate Orange and lemon peels, sliced up apples that aren't as appealing to eat anymore but still suitable and throw them in the crockpot with things such as cloves, cinnamon sticks, dried lavender, eucalyptus leaves, etc. The crockpot can go all day, just check the water after a few hours. House smells lovely, no chemicals :-)
I go 100% fragrance free. I open windows on nice days. If there is an odor I tackle the odor at its source. Even naturally occurring fragrances can have irritants. Cloves comes to my mind. See Pubchem. Perfectly clean air has no smell.
Thank you 😊 Feeling desperate apartment management hasn't done anything about neighbor smoking pot or cigarettes above and below me. It's difficult. Thanks for sharing your info... 😊
I am going to show this to my children and husband. Been telling them it’s bad they do t listen. These fragrance gives me headaches and hard to breath they said I am just being extra. My husband have sinus problems tired of them not listening.
I open my windows every day.. Putting some coffee into a bowl and leaving it in your room for 24 hour or 48 hours gets rid of all smells whats good about it your avoiding all chemicals.
Thanks for addressing this air freshener issue. Febreze amd other air sprays have always made me sick. In fact, any really strong fragrances are irritating. I like my home to smell like NOTHING. ❤️ 💙 💜 Clean doesn't actually smell at all
Thank you Annette for helping us keep safe and healthy! We luv you ❤❤❤ I just put baking soda in containers around my apt. Works wonderful and so fresh! I always have my windows open when I'm home! Fresh air fills my apt! ⚘️🌿☘️🌷🌱
Some essential oils like citrus, pine, tea tree, and even cinnamon and cloves cannot be used if you have cats because their liver cannot process the phynol and Salicylates it contains. A dogs liver can handle more than cats but not much. So if you have pets, cleaning with orange or lemon is out of the question.
This is true. Essential oils are very high VOC's. Just because they are "natural" does not always correlate with safety. I used to study EO's toxicity. Our pets and small children are the ones at most risk for health consequences, but even adults can suffer. There have been some horrifying things that have happened. They get swept under the rug out of commercial interests. Remember, the poison is in the dose no matter what substance we are using.
Great video with lots of interesting information, thank you! People usually forget to mention the CUMULATIVE effect of toxic chemicals, which makes everything more complicated. If you use harsh cleaning products, AND if you wear traditional makeup, AND wear mostly clothes with PFAS right against your skin such as leggings and you sweat in them, AND if you also cook mostly in non stick pans, AND if you use a yoga mat that picks up PFAS from your carpet, AND if you drink tap water that contains PFAS, well… even if it’s a small amount of toxic chemicals for each product it can add up to dangerous levels that can trigger serious health issues. Another concern is the COCKTAIL effect, when many different toxic chemicals create strange sets of symptoms and illnesses when they accumulate in a person’s body. This is very difficult to study because every person reacts differently and scientists don’t know how this mix of chemicals is truly affecting our body. Since there are endless possibilities regarding the type of chemicals, their toxicity level, their concentration and the way they interact with other chemicals in our blood, organs etc… there really is no way to study the effects all these toxic chemicals have on our body. The future doesn’t look good though, as we use more and more plastics including silicone cooking molds and a million other products that are supposed to make our life easier. People don’t realize that they are ingesting very unhealthy particles and feeding them to their kids too 😢 If we could just wake up and go back to simpler products made of healthier materials like linen for our clothes, and cast iron or glass for our cooking molds, now that would be a good start. When people want to exercise they go play soccer or softball on an athletic field covered with Astroturf filled with crumb rubber, which is made of tiny pieces of old car tires 🤮 Nobody seems concerned about the heavy metals and other toxic chemicals found in this recycled rubber, it’s really puzzling. Then they take their kids to a playground that has a soft ground cover made of rubber pellets glued together aka PIP (“Pour In Place” rubber flooring) which is also from old car tires. Nobody seems worried about their kids crawling all over this type of flooring with bare hands then eating a snack without washing or even wiping their hands to avoid ingesting too much rubber dust, no problem! Only a few counties in the US have banned these rubber pellets but most towns are now installing a PIP rubber flooring in their kids playgrounds and Astroturf on their athletic fields. No wonder kids who play several times a week on those fields have such a high rate of leukemia or other cancers, especially the goalies who are in contact with the toxic rubber pellets… Our homes are filled with toxic stuff, and people have no problem putting pieces of furniture like IKEA in their kids room, not realizing that the glue in these particle boards releases toxic airborne formaldehyde particles that are very unhealthy, especially for youngsters. Even smart people are still heating up their food in a microwave in a plastic container or worse in a cardboard box from the restaurant, not realizing that there are PFAS in the lining of the box. I have a friend who’s all about clean living, healthy lifestyle etc… but she has no problem putting her kids’ plastic lunch boxes in the dishwasher everyday, it’s disheartening…She doesn’t want to hear the fact that BPAs and other toxic chemicals get released because of the heat in there 🙄 I have another friend who’s an environmentalist but she mostly wears synthetic fabrics and doesn’t care about the tiny pieces of nylon or polyester that her clothes shed during each wash in her machine. Where does she think all these microplastics end up if not in the ocean? It’s really sad because we now have access to lots of information about this stuff online but most people don’t want to change their bad, lazy habits. I’m afraid the force of inertia is far too great, and people love their stretchy clothes, silicone cooking molds, cheap furniture and stain resistant sofas way too much to give them up. How can we remain hopeful when even smart people don’t want to hear the truth about toxic chemicals in their clothes, homes, playgrounds etc…?
Excellent Information 👍👍💯💖💯 AMEN AMEN HALLELUJAH 💖🙏💖! THANK You 🙏 SO Very Much ❤️🙏❤️! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME I PRAY 💖🙏💖!
Thanks dear. It was getting pulled by a/c into every room. But outside, I can go snip off some and boil to make my healing teas. Annette, I appreciate the helpful information you put online here.
So glad you made this video. I have chemical sensitivity (salicylates). I loved buying scentsy products, candles and plug ins until realized the dangers. I stopped buying them. I also stopped buying car frangances.
Thank Annette for the awareness. The reason I buy some citrus, especially oranges. To keep the skin to squeeze after my cooking dishes. To eliminate the smell. And boil pineapple skin to refresh the air as well.
Dr Doris J. Rapp was my doctor when I was a child and suffered greatly with allergies. She was a genius and the world could use more like her! I still have to this day her report that she typed up for my parents to go by. I am 65 years old now. 😊 Kenmore, New York
I can still picture her in my mind and hear her voice, a very lovely lady inside and out. Such knowledge she had was a gift from the Lord God. So kind and patient. I remember the allergy shots I had to get biweekly and then it went weekly, but those shots helped me for years. A brilliant doctor!
I use a long spray bottle, I put 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 1/3 cup of lemon juice, fill the bottle half way up with distilled Vinegar and the rest of the bottle filled up with distilled water
What things can you use if you have pets? We have an older an older pug, also both my husband and I have plant allergies - cut grass, pollen, certain flowers, etc. His is worse than mine.
These are also toxic for pets, even essential oils. Frankincense is ok for pets. the lavender plant is not harmful but do not use lavender essential oils.
Most are still fine as long as you’re not applying to the animals skin or they ingest it. You can use them cautiously in the air as long as it’s a well ventilated area that they have an exit open from.
More than children are being poisoned by these toxic chemicals. I have dealt with multi-chemical sensitivity due to years of fragrance use. Air purifiers with ionizing function can help clear the air after all fragrances have been removed.
Thank-you for sharing this important information. Many may not know the different and the effects these air fresheners can have on us especially baby and children. Take care, stay well and God bless. 😊
When it says "Fragrance" none of us know what we are inhaling. It would be like going to the store to buy bread, and the ingredients just say "Bread". You wouldn't know what you are eating. Fortunately food has a detailed label. But fragrance? NOPE! Trade secret laws protect the industry, but not consumers.
I ate vegan for 4 hrs before i was saved. If I'm honest, it was for self only. I saw myself as a special snowflake. It's a little embarrassing really. GOD answered the big secret prayer and I wanted to thank Him with a Daniel fast. This way of eating is familiar and Jesus really does come in and eat with me. Weight loss was not my goal, but I've lost 9 lbs the first two weeks. So many blessings.
I tell my mom how bad these plug ins are & she KEEPS USING THEM! Everytime we leave after staying with her we are sick & i think this is why! They smell so unnatural & stink!
The best smell is a clean home. Opening windows too❤

Okay. Finally a reason to get a crock pot. Thank you!

Spot on... Febreeze is one of the most toxic things you could bring into your house
We truly have to protect the children! Thank you, Annette Reeder! 🇺🇸
I am going to show this to my children and husband. Been telling them it’s bad they do t listen. These fragrance gives me headaches and hard to breath they said I am just being extra. My husband have sinus problems tired of them not listening.
I cannot be around any kind of sents, except outside natural flowers and trees.
Fortunately most of my associates understand.
I open my windows every day.. Putting some coffee into a bowl and leaving it in your room for 24 hour or 48 hours gets rid of all smells whats good about it your avoiding all chemicals.

You nailed it! Same here. I live 100% fragrance free. Not even essential oils. I live the low VOC lifestyle. Clean has no smell.
I use Azuna which is made in the USA. It’s tea tree oil and it does an excellent job.
Thank you Annette for helping us keep safe and healthy! We luv you ❤❤❤

Sorry to hear that!

Use baking soda and vinger..
So glad you made this video. I have chemical sensitivity (salicylates). I loved buying scentsy products, candles and plug ins until realized the dangers. I stopped buying them. I also stopped buying car frangances.
Good decisions.
I honestly believe if they listed the ingredients on "Fragrance" the public would drop it like a hot potato......and cancer cases would decline.
I had a horrible smell in the fridge from spoiled sauerkraut. I put vinegar in there and no more odor.
Thank Annette for the awareness. The reason I buy some citrus, especially oranges. To keep the skin to squeeze after my cooking dishes. To eliminate the smell. And boil pineapple skin to refresh the air as well.
Thank you for sharing. This is something I wondered about. Wondering no more.❤😊

I haven’t used vanilla so that’s good to know.
Thanks for watching @cynthiacassel! 👩🏼🌾
What about the link to charcoal air freshener?
Charcoal air fresher link?😊
What about using an air purifier? Is that helpful?
Vacuum with a Dyson and they make an amazing air purifier - heater - fan.
Is Lysol one of them!
Yes
Any links or guidance for help ...neighbors smoking cigarettes and Marijuana
Best to just move to a place where snowflakes don’t melt. You should be fine as soon as you leave that neighbourhood behind.
So its safe to put vanilla on the light bulb? I've never knew that.
Always Apply it room temp prior to lighting👍🏼
@@owoodard1110 thanks

It matters a great deal what sort of essential oils you have. They must be therapeutic grade, not the cheap stuff from stores.
@@daltontodd3190 They are bad for pets/animals, no matter what grade. Always err on the side of caution.

No, u can convert them DIY recipes & method r available(use own essential oils)👍🏼
Would like to open the windows but the pollen is really heavy right now. Sorry I'm a guy and double cleaning duties is not for me!! Lol

Was just thinking how much I hate the smell of the fragrance trash bags! Eewwww! Aweful!
What about incense?
Look for high quality and not incense that is all synthetic ingredients.
What if you have dogs? Sometimes it’s hard to make your home smell good when you have 2 goldens 🤔
I wash the pet bedding often and then bathe Trixie.
I also use an air purifier to help
