I enjoyed your cleaner recipes! About the glass cleaner.. I have a outdoor window cleaner I have used and shared for many years. 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup non-sudsey amonia, 2 T cornstarch added to1 gal. Warm water. Apply to outside of windows with brush or sprayer, scrub and rinse with hose. The cornstarch causes the water to sheet off leaving no streaks. Works great. Now you have provided me one for indoor use. Thank you.
I like the foaming hand soap with Castil soap; Castile can also be used around any plant to drive off bugs, just mix with some water and spray. Thank you Abbey.
For glass cleaner, maybe put in the Corn Starch first, then follow with the water. This will wash out all the residue corn starch in the funnel. Great job on these!
What is the reason You both decided against using Borax? Asking because I plan on making my own diy detergent as well but thought Borax instead of baking soda would be better due to the slighter higher pH and also its anti bacterial and anti fungal properties?
I love this video! Thank you so much How to you use the fabric softner? Is it instead of the laundry detergent? Do you use it directly on the clothes or in the soap drawer?
What is the purpose of the salt in the laundry soap? As like a water softener? And if so, we already have a water softener, so would we just omit the salt?
Thank you for sharing! The laundry detergent is good for dark/black clothes too? I know that baking soda helps brighten lighter colors but i dont like when my dark clothrs look ashy. Can you also plase share a recipe for moping the floors.
I have been planning to work on swapping out my cleaning supplies this late fall and winter. Thank you for tackling this topic and sharing your recipes and experiences with us. I’m curious about your thoughts or experience with using the laundry soap in HE front loader washing machines. I saw something once suggesting this isn’t a good option. It seemed odd to me but it has remained in my thoughts. Thanks again, have a great weekend!
I really want to try them all! What alternatives could I use for castile soap? Will Marseille soap or green olive soap work as well? And if I don't have liquid castile soap should I use the same amount of grated soap? Thank you for the recipes!
Hello! Just cane across this video today! I love all the great ideas! May I ask why not to use borax in the laundry detergent? Also the coarse salt you use is the cooking one? Thank you so much 🙏
Thanks for the recipes. Would you have one for oven cleaning? I have an asthmatic pet and cannot have scent in the house, nor aerosol which makes it hard for cleaning an oven. At this point I have been using m home made cleaners and some vinegar/baking soda paste but that takes a lot of elbow grease. I kind of gave up and live with clean but not spotless if you will. I know it’s clean but it still bothers the heck out of me.
Thank you, why did you opt out of using Borax for the laundry detergent. I thought it was great for softening and also antimicrobial, anti fungal and antibacterial? Also Non toxic
My main reason is because it can be a skin irritant some research shows it can negatively impact reproductive health but I’d assume that would be more so exposure in larger quantities
Thank you! I would personally probably still stick to 1/4 c with a front loading machine. I know front loaders typically use less detergent but I think you’d still want to stick with the 1/4 c. Our top loader is HE and on its water saving mode we will still use 1/4 c.
Does this always need to be rinsed off? Like when I use the all purpose cleaner on a table do I just wipe it down or do I need to somehow get more water to take it off?
I have been using it in mine for about 2 years now with white vinegar in the bleach or softener compartment(depends what I'm washing) and will not go back to anything else, just love it!
I haven't had it turn out clumpy. Occasionally if the ingredients don't fully dissolve I see some separation but just shaking the jar fixes that for me

Thanks for the tip Mary! The outside of our windows could really use some attention

these seem too easy for me NOT to make the switch. thank you for sharing!
So easy! Let me know if you do give them a try. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so very much for the recipes, especially the non borax laundry detergent! ❤

Saves you a lot of money too
I really enjoyed this! I remember making these thubgs as a child wirh supervision, but recipes were lost!
I can’t wait to try your ideas. With the cost of everything I need to try. Thank you for sharing!!
I've learned so much from watching your channel. Keep up the amazing work!
So happy to hear that! Thank you!!
I love this video! Thank you so much
How to you use the fabric softner? Is it instead of the laundry detergent? Do you use it directly on the clothes or in the soap drawer?
If you click the link in the description it explains to put the fabric softener directly into the drum with the clothing :)
Love it!! Can’t wait to try them!!
What is the purpose of the salt in the laundry soap? As like a water softener? And if so, we already have a water softener, so would we just omit the salt?
Hey love! What’s the issue with borax?
Thank you dear
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for sharing. Do you use tap water?
Thank you for sharing. I have also like to use all natural products for cleaning and laundry. Do you have one for liquid fabric softener
Thank You! 😀
Thanks
Excited to try these! Thank you!!
Let me know if you do!

Are the all purpose cleaners strong enough to clean really nasty things? Example: chicken juices, raw egg, toilet seat and handle, etc
Vinegar/alcohol can disinfect. Baking soda can scrub.
Thank you for these wonderful recipes🙂
Will the laundry detergent thicken upon standing?
Yes it does thicken a bit!

Why is borax bad? I'm genuinly curious
Thank you for these, My husband hates non-bubbly dish soap 🙄 does yours create bubbles??
Yes it does! Definitely not the same amount as most store bought versions but I get a good amount

I'd like to reply...I have learned borax can break down any stretchy material to where it no longer stretches...so giving clothing less life usage...
@@BrandyMihalovich Hello! Wow! I didn't know that! Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🤗
@@fabic1567I’ve heard borax was band in the uk, as it is an endocrine disruptor.
@@sarahallen6328 Hello! Thank you so much for sharing 🙏
I've been looking for a new laundry soap. Thanks so much for sharing. :)

It does take a lot of elbow grease but I just do the baking soda and vinegar as well. I haven’t found anything that works better yet
@@abbeyverigin Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. ❤️

@abbeyverigin Okay got it! I just did some minor research and saw the same thing.
Do you have a laminate floor cleaner...this Bona stuff is expensive. Thank you for these recipes, just great!
Yes! You can do about 1 tbsp liquid Castile soap to a quart of water or equals parts water, white vinegar and rubbing alcohol :) thanks for watching!
@@abbeyverigin thank you so much!
For the laundry soap, do I use 1/4 cup for front loading machines? Thank you! Love your channel. ❤️
@@FrankGutowski-ls8jt You seem to be unaware of just how much water most (if not all) liquid laundry detergents have.
Thank you! I would personally probably still stick to 1/4 c with a front loading machine. I know front loaders typically use less detergent but I think you’d still want to stick with the 1/4 c. Our top loader is HE and on its water saving mode we will still use 1/4 c.
Thats about what I use in mine👍🏼
Can I use dish soap for the dishwasher. Thank you
Hi Ellie. No not this recipe, there are some DIY recipes out there for dishwasher detergent but I haven’t found one I’ve really liked
Can you use distilled water in these recipes?
Why the Castile soap in the laundry detergent vs. Sal Suds?
Brava😊
I am interested in seeing it in action
I do the same glass cleaner but instead of corn starch I use a sqwart of dawn dish soap works amazing
my laundry detergent got chunky the next day i think it’s because it gets pretty cold at night. what’s the best way to keep the from happening?
How much of the dish soap do you use when doing dishes? Hard for me to judge being new and not having the sudes.
what brand of essential oil do you use?
Does this always need to be rinsed off? Like when I use the all purpose cleaner on a table do I just wipe it down or do I need to somehow get more water to take it off?
No need to rinse off
Does the scent last through the dryer?
The Castile soap can be purchased scented... can I use that instead of essential oils??
Yes!
Is this safe to use in high-efficiency front load washers?
I have been using it in mine for about 2 years now with white vinegar in the bleach or softener compartment(depends what I'm washing) and will not go back to anything else, just love it!
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. I use it in an HE machine but it is top loading :)
Do the laundry and dish detergents thicken up? They look very liquid
Yes they both do gel up
The liquid laundry detergent became really clumpy for me. Has this happened to any of you? Suggestions?
I haven't had it turn out clumpy. Occasionally if the ingredients don't fully dissolve I see some separation but just shaking the jar fixes that for me
So excited to try these!! What do you use to mop your floor? Just the all purpose cleaner?
I wish you will list all the ingredients for what
Is there a substitution we can use for vegetable glycerin?
I would just leave it out
Hi Abbey thank you so much for this awesome video. Where do you get those large glass containers that hold your coarse salt and baking soda. thanks
Can I use epsom salt for the laundry detergent?
Yes!
For the dish soap you say 2 tablespoons but it looks like you put a lot more spoonfuls in, am i confused?
Looks like she was using teaspoons
Do you have any recepies for Dishwasher detergent ?
I make cubes for my dishwasher. Just look on UA-cam I want to try them all to see which one works the best.
I enjoy your channel, I just wanted to add the salt will harm your washing machine sadly:(
I will look into this, I have never had an issue.
