Taking down Michigan was the lowest moment in the game… G1 is and will always be the most heroic of the AC Pilots on Rubicon. A leader who knows the men and women he leads. I think any of us with a good head on our shoulders would follow mean old Michigan into battle. I only did it fearing I’d otherwise have to fight Rusty in the alternate mission… like most FromSoft games, they do not relent.
Started playing this two days ago and having a damn blast at it. Got to this fight yesterday. At first I didnt like Michigan, mostly hate Snail but as I got further into the story, Michigan is by far the one of the characters aside from Walter and Cinder who truly acknowledges your capacity.
In Armored Core 6, most of your opponents insult and belittle you for being an independent Mercenary or for being a 4th generation augmented human. They belittle or ignore all of your accomplishments. The same almost happens here, except Michigan argues against everyone who insults the player. Michigan is like the player's hype-man for this mission, citing off every one of your biggest achievements and reminding his soldiers than they are just grunts in MTs. Michigan is one of the few good people on Rubicon, and it's a tragedy to end his life.
Hello GreyCaliber! I was just wondering, is there any unique dialogue if you manage to beat every single enemy before Michigan and leave him for last (or is this even possible)? The "solo" part is what this is right, so no added dialogue I guess? You miss out on quite a bit of his post-death dialogue from the others then, huh? By the way, thank you so much for these videos, I and many others really appreciate getting to see all the dialogue permutations, it was sometimes hard to follow while playing but it's so interesting, well-written and important to the story to be able to listen to all these interactions!
At around 3:09 is the segment for Michigan being the last one alive. I'll re-adjust the timestamps to clarify that segment. After doing all these videos, its very surprising how much dialogue characters have in comparison to how quick the fights go.
This mission is single handedly the HARDEST mission in the game. For some reason my shoot buttons get harder and harder to press as the time goes on… is my controller broken?
This mission frustrated me. Not because of how difficult it was, but because I felt like I wasn't giving it my all. Not Living up to the reputation in the story. 😊
Does anybody feel that the corporations are giving you Borderlands vibes?Balam is Dahl and Arquebus is Hyperion/Maliwan.Heck,G1 Michigan sounds like a Borderlands antagonist due to how hilariously he treats his troops so badly as some kind of motivation for them and respecting the protagonist more than his soldiers.
What? Michigan literally remembers the names of all the soldiers he got, Even the MT pilots. After he defeats you the first thing he did was call for a relief team for the wounded soldiers. @@blastmole299 Agreed. Good shit.
@@blastmole299I am at a point where I want the unfair AC fights from old games back. Give them double, hell triple health, some stagger punish combos melt the AI too quickly.
Balam MT after killing you with Michigan dead
Balam Grunt: We got them! We avenged Michigan!
Balam Grunt: Let's see those Arquebus freaks do now...
Meanwhile elsewhere
Rusty: Buddy died to Michigan's fodder, no matter. I will dispose of them easily...
The only cutie around here is YOU, Kennebec!
Michigan knew every man under his command. Cared for every one of them too. Damn it fromsoft, why dis you not let us side with balam!
WE ARE 2000 ALBANYS
Or 20 Iguazus
I'm sad that there was no ending connected to Balam in the game. I would have enjoyed if we could join the Redguns officially and fight alongside Michigan. Also, having the opportunity to become a numbered Vesper and Join Snail to fight for Arquebus, would have been interesting too.
If they ever make an Arquebus route, I hope they give you the chance to still assassinate Snail and become V.I
*Coughs in V.I Freud*
G1 Michigan used to be an AC pilot until he took a charged pile bunker to the knee.
If there was one thing that G1 Michigan did, that V.II Snail didn't was that he treated you like one of his own.
Sure youre given the cursed number G13, but even as a merc, Michigan treated you at the least a part of the Redguns.
Was that bit where the downed transport chopper crashed on and staggered the first tetrapod planed or just luck?
1:20
That's pure luck right there. Cool ones tho
I just noticed that lol
happened to me as well! always worth shooting those things down
It's pure luck but still cool af that stuff like that can even happen. They could've just make it so that the enemy hitboxes don't collide with each other but they didn't and I love it.
I fucking love Michigan and this mission so much. Everyone talking so much shit and he's the only one that knows you are him and should not be taken lightly
Wish we could work for balam
I like Michigan asks Rusty to switch side
FS write a faceless voice better than anything come from COD/battlefield
Taking down Michigan was the lowest moment in the game… G1 is and will always be the most heroic of the AC Pilots on Rubicon. A leader who knows the men and women he leads. I think any of us with a good head on our shoulders would follow mean old Michigan into battle.
I only did it fearing I’d otherwise have to fight Rusty in the alternate mission… like most FromSoft games, they do not relent.
Oh, I recognized that voice
AWACS Ghost Eye from AC6
This mission alone was worth the $60 i spent on the game
Thx for showing the dialogues!
"Sir...! Im a useless maggot,sir!"
We aren’t gonna talk about the quad copter landing on top if the tetrapod 1:35
Michigan be like - this is a god damn festival and I will not be having sex by myself. I introduce to you Raid Boss Raven!
In fairness, sending a problematic merc on a suicide mission is exactly the kind of crap Snail would do.
This mission made me feel so sad after I finished it😭
I wanted to help the redguns beat arquebus so badly
I wish i could say something to the ac6 characters apologize for what i’m going to do or tell rusty that he’s my friend 🤠
you are too pure 😭but i feel ya
Michigan is just like Gunnery Sgt. Hartman
This is probably the only From game with silly comedic touches and I’m all for it
Hello GreyCaliber!
this game makes it fun to be sadistic kinda
this made me feel just sad. You sound kinda sociopathic
I really hope this comment is just edgy 😰
that was fucking sad
I despise this mission i cant do it
Does anybody feel that the corporations are giving you Borderlands vibes?Balam is Dahl and Arquebus is Hyperion/Maliwan.Heck,G1 Michigan sounds like a Borderlands antagonist due to how hilariously he treats his troops so badly as some kind of motivation for them and respecting the protagonist more than his soldiers.
What? Michigan literally remembers the names of all the soldiers he got, Even the MT pilots. After he defeats you the first thing he did was call for a relief team for the wounded soldiers. He even offers the soldiers a chance to retreat before they fight Raven. He even knows some of his soldiers have diaries.
@@Eradicator-jv9xr Yeah.He does care for his soldiers more than Snail does. But seriously,he kepts insulting his soldiers and praises Raven/621 more than his soldiers. Please pay attention to the dialogue with Michigan throughout the game. Also,I learned this because of Tv Tropes.
@@ahmadhadi177he's humbling them. Notice he only spits out insults if they initiate the trash talk. He's the old school break their ego type military leader
@@ahmadhadi177 OH yeah, but it it's actually kinda their fault, if you go back and check all the times he badmouthed his workers was when they initiated the badmouthing or when they were saying shit they shouldn't be (for example: Iguazu spilling the beans about the Operation Wallclimber to 621 and gloating about it, Michigan noticed that and immediately shuts him down)
it is kinda rough, a little bit to agressive, but with an intent. if you served in the military, you know that michigan is a good commander, chill even, also caring hell of a lot.
Like, dude, his fault is mostly being not harsh enough. he shuts down soldiers in a battle in the most playfull way possible. he needed to cut it off tight on both his and his soldiers part, to focus on the battle, but his way can also be interpreted as with intent to hold the morale
Sorry, not a native speaker, grammar is pretty messed up, probably
@@ahmadhadi177
To be honest, I never really liked Michigan. Just the way he talks to his soldiers.
Still, killing all of these MTs didn't feel all too good. Giving them voices made them relatable and human.
Very good Mission design though, because it is line with the Universe of AC.
Not always the bad guy. But most certainly not always the good guy either.
He's the strict and harsh big bro type at outside, but really care about all of his siblings inside. The last text log of G4 Volta when you find his AC carcass at operation wallclimber at the left side of town confirm about this.
@@HiroyaFujimiyathe fact that he remembers all of his personel down to their personality shows just how close he is with the whole squad.
@@HiroyaFujimiya Wait a moment, didn't he say that moments before dying in what can only be described as a total defeat ... ?
@@cykrya5156 And once again he still uses them as meat shields in a battle against an opponent he knows will eradicate them like nothing. Him remembering their names is not exactly making up for that.
@@LukazChrom he's setting up his AC... you really think going there with an uncalibrated or even without an AC is smart? especially considering he knows just how skilled raven are. either way, sacrifices must be made (albeit futile). besides they're soldiers first and foremost, i think their fights are fitting, considering that i view the boss fight as raven fighting G1 means him fighting the Redguns as a whole.
