I see a lot of jackasses trying to downplay your achievement. What you displayed here is absolutely skill. Soft/manual lock on PC platform against sweat dual Zimmer builds on a stock hal build undefeated is just crazy. The people who says lucky or because the community is dying don’t know jack shit. Only the veterans are left in this game, meaning the only pool of players left to beat are the experienced ones, that makes this a lot harder to achieve. Well done lad.
@@Three1415-ej1rs the waltuh emblem and the white paint job for HAL-0 is indeed unforgettable, not to mention I've been fighting against such pure HAL preset for few S rank matches back in 3rd or 4th season. It literally makes me have to lock-in everytime I meet you lmao
This is my favorite preset in the entire game, but as a mid tier casu-core (I’m a lifelong gamer since 1997) I just haven’t gotten the timing down on this AC. All the weapons are all so Delayed/Slow feeling, so it’s got a high skill ceiling imo, you have to place and time everything perfectly. If you land (esp double) charged shots from either the rifle and charged shoulder missiles it’s DEVASTATING but if you miss you’ve literally got nothing and get pwned. So I realize this is a get gudd scenario, I want to only use HAL 826 but I just suck too much, lol.
Does the hall preset not have great boosters for the melee lunge cancel? Im curious why your not making much use of that since you have one of the longest lunging melee’s
A booster's ability to melee cancel well depends mostly on its melee thrust stat rather than its QB thrust, and in that regard NGI is only mediocre compared to boosters like Kikaku or Fluegel. Also, HAL is quite heavy (~85k total weight), which is a lot more detrimental than it might seem because speed drops off a cliff after the 75k weight breakpoint. Altogether this means that I only have a melee cancel speed of about 490, which is quite slow compared to dedicated melee cancel builds which can push 700, so it's not as effective as you might think. The other problem is that HAL lacks an easy stun--most dedicated melee builds use something like charged pulse blade or dagger to set up their combos, but the uncharged coral blade doesn't inflict a mini-stagger like those weapons do, so essentially I'd be getting in my opponent's face without a great followup if I just melee cancelled into them. Altogether, this means I it's generally better for me to use the coral blade defensively, rather than offensively, by just whacking rushdown builds that get too close with the 180 tech you see me use a lot here. This also allows me to better leverage the range advantage the WLT rifle has over most other arm weapons.
@ thanks! I was mostly curious since its been a while since i played any armored core and i never really got into competitive, are there times you use it to close the gap when the enemy already has there meter broken? Or do you prefer to stay back with the WLT and the charge demon blade?
These are the coral weapons unlocked late in NG++ (third playthrough/route) of the campaign--the coral blade, WLT rifle, coral shield, and coral missile, respectively.
I was thinking of first doing a "Mastering the Coral Blade" and "Mastering the WLT Rifle" videos at some point first, as discussing how to pilot HAL is 1) very niche, and 2) very complicated. All the matchups against meta builds have completely different gameplans, for instance, and there are multiple essential techs for each weapon that I'd need to go through, etc., etc. I may do it at some point, but not for a while, probably. I will say that Oro's 9k build I saw you mention earlier is not going to be particularly effective. The coral shield is not a good part by any means since it got massively nerfed awhile back, but it's completely essential for HAL to work well at all. You need that damage & impact mitigation against rushdown builds like melee or zimms, and especially to cover all the stancing you need to do to make the most of the WLT charge and beam attacks, which are far, far more effective than the uncharged shot. Likewise, the coral missile is actually quite bad on HAL for a number of reasons--namely that you want to be kiting with AB as much as possible, which you can't do while locking the missile--so packing two is not going to be particularly helpful. If you were going to make changes to HAL to make it more playable, swapping to PA over AA is easily the biggest improvement--AA is basically useless a lot of the time. Likewise, going to 46S arms (for better melee spec), 44D head (improved stability without compromising defenses too much + weight reduction), and maybe laser drones instead of coral missile (much faster lock time + better range, still excellent stagger punish) would be the way to go, I think.
I’m buying a PC tomorrow JUST so I can play the mods lol…inferno mode, armory etc. sad thing is I’ll have to start over with a new save since to my knowledge there’s no way to merge my PSN saves with my Steam Account. If only there was some way to verify it. Oh well experiencing the game new for the first time will be “fun” I’ve only beat the game 6 times now lol…
That's the appeal of it for me, to be sure. It gives me the sense that my brain has to be firing on all cylinders to pilot it well, which makes it very satisfying to pull out a win.
Very cool gameplay, lore accurate Walter
"Got another ass-whooping for you, 621"
Waltuh on his way to Breaking the Bad.
Waltuh
we must cook the enemy Waltuh
Only THREE double shotgun builds? Very lucky indeed. Impressive gameplay none the less, and a nice paint job too.
The absolute dominance of that first minute. Wow hahahaha
its really cool to see how good you are with the HAL 826 AC. Also, finally found your channel after got a recommendation from UA-cam.
Looks like you found a friend.

I kinda remember you. GJ! Another WLT rifle enjoyer!
This version of Walter is super scary😂 like 9 ball scary.
That power baka takedown was v nice!
WALTER IS THAT YOU?
Pleasant to see a video from you again. Great to see you've become even better than last time you posted.
you are the true Handler
HAL826 is such a disgusting AC out of the box. it's so well balanced and punches hard.
lore accurate Walter
nice job bro, you have my sub! xD
Damn bro this reminds me of my rival the HAL-0 (white HAL826 preset)
Edit: after checking the description, the HAL-0 was u all along?
It probably was! I don't know of anyone else on PC who used it, at least.

Holy shit that was nice
I have no idea what's going on but it looks great
He remembers his password :D
8:40 why he die like that 😂
The WLT rifle is technically a plasma weapon, combine its DoT effects with From's spaghetti netcode and you end up with janky shots like the above.
Facts lol

Love the hal preset but i gotta say, it gets utterly shit on by parry shields lol especially the 61PB
Everyday it gets harder and harder to stay away from this game,i have other games to play ive neglected longer but it doesn’t want to let me go
Welp I'm avoiding a rank because npc walter not very difficult but human controlled walter just no thank you XD
what weapons are you using may i ask?

When are you going to make a guide for Hal, pal ?

You can download completed saves from Nexus Mods. You won't have your custom ACs but at least you won't be starting from scratch.
IMO a very strong preset, but not easy to use.

Undefeated because the community is dying and not playing.
lol.. give credit where it’s due. You couldn’t have pulled this off on PC platform.
