It is interesting to see hand forging on an industrial scale as apposed to massive automated factories and this is grass roots recycling and employment

I actually believe that the best, most gifted ironsmiths are not in the US or in Europe, but in 3rd world countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Mexico and India... although I believe India is technically not a third world country any more.

You understand that we have better tools in US and Europe to do those tasks, right? We had the best ironsmiths when this was the only way to do it, from medieval times to past the industrial revolutions

And this is why US manufacturing is dying, you can't compete with a non safety regulated manufacturer who's overhead is 1/10 of a US manufacturer.

It isn't this kind of shop that western manufacturing will struggle with. You automate and suddenly the same number of people can produce 20 times as many hammers. The problem is the big far eastern factories that are bigger, as automated and have a slightly cheaper workforce.

That's and the Marxists shipped production over seas and have policies which are not good for American business.

Technically about 7.5lb after scale comes off of power hammering the 8lb block of metal. To be that consistent on power hammer takes a very good eye and quite a lot of skill. Well done! My favorite part is taking the shoe off to get a proper cut for the handle. To haft the handle properly I might of hit the bottom of the handle a couple times to really grip that head on.

You mean 3,4kg after power hammering a 3,63kg metal block.
