I actually believe that the best, most gifted ironsmiths are not in the US or in Europe, but in 3rd world countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Mexico and India... although I believe India is technically not a third world country any more.

It isn't this kind of shop that western manufacturing will struggle with. You automate and suddenly the same number of people can produce 20 times as many hammers. The problem is the big far eastern factories that are bigger, as automated and have a slightly cheaper workforce.
Technically about 7.5lb after scale comes off of power hammering the 8lb block of metal. To be that consistent on power hammer takes a very good eye and quite a lot of skill. Well done! My favorite part is taking the shoe off to get a proper cut for the handle. To haft the handle properly I might of hit the bottom of the handle a couple times to really grip that head on.
im sure all you safety babies out there are crying foul but this is typical around hard working men trying to make money that has good work skills and a head full of COMMON SENSE

That's and the Marxists shipped production over seas and have policies which are not good for American business.
Here in Australia to,the heat treatment is a worry,heat overall,hold temperature specified time,overall temper,die paint check for cracks.
