- If you’ve been diagnosed with uterine fibroids, you may be considering fibroid surgery. Perhaps you’ve even been told that hysterectomy, the surgical removal of the uterus, is your only treatment option. We have good news: The reality of the situation is that you have other options, including Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE).

About USA Fibroid Centers
As a leading provider of Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) for the treatment of uterine fibroids, USA Fibroid Centers is on a mission to break the stigma around talking about women's reproductive health so women can get the information about fibroids they need to make the best decisions for their well-being.
Uterine fibroids are the leading cause of hysterectomies, and minimally invasive options like UFE often go unmentioned when women are presented with their treatment options for their fibroids.
We want to educate women, and physicians, about the importance of understanding all the treatment options for fibroids so that no woman has to make the difficult decision between life with pain and fibroid treatment.

I am from Pakistan. My UFE was done on 19 July 2023. I had heard that there is a lot of pain but during the procedure I didn't feel anything at all when the particles were put in I felt a burning sensation the whole procedure took about half an hour then I was shifted to the ward I started having cramps which lasted for about an hour but were bearable then I was put on painkiller drops and I fell asleep the cramps stopped but it was all bearable as I heard the pain was unbearable. Thank God it was nothing. The next day I was sent home. The pain is getting less and less with each passing day, but no weight lifting for two weeks. The heating pad helped me a lot in this whole process. Whenever I got cramps, I would put the heating pad on and it would give me a lot of relief.
Thank you for your comment! Everyone's experience with UFE and fibroids is different, and we appreciate you sharing yours:)

How did it go or going
How did the the procedure go and how you recovering? I’ve got mine booked for 26 March 2024. Nervous as worried about the contrast particles and the affect on the rest of my uterus. It’s been a long road to get to this stage.
@@kimberlywright9188 I had mine Friday and it was easy, if you need it do it!

Am feeling great after my ufe I did mine in June 27 2024 no bloating so far
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! We are so glad to hear you found relief after UFE 💜
I had the UFE procedure a week and two days ago. The first day of my procedure was torture but by the 5th day you feel much better. I’m back at work on light duty but the more you move around the stronger you become. There are definitely some downsides to this procedure but by the 5 day and beyond you will get better.
Same here just had it done the first, I'm finally feeling better from those awful cramps
Yes all the prep while awake was crazy
@@RC-ud4qo I told the lady I was never awake for this part, she was like I'm so sorry this is uncomfortable, but we're getting to know each other in a short amount of time😁

Wow, I'm avoiding hysterectomy. Gonna get this done

I’m really glad I found this. I have big fibroids that cause heavy periods and also painful cramps. I’ve already had two surgeries to remove them and I don’t want another one. Plus my OB told me that the next step would be hysterectomy. But hysterectomy is simply not an option for me. I don’t want to trade in one set of problems for another one.

STAY STRONG MY HEAVENLY SISTERS...IM WAITNG FOR MINES TO BE SCHEDULED ..BLESS YOU ALL
A doctor recently told me that, because I'm 57, UFE won't work for me. She said it may shrink my fibroids 20%, but the only way for me to get rid of them is to have a hysterectomy. Sooooo many doctors have been pushing me toward hysterectomy and none seem to want to discuss other removal options. I don't believe them, but I'm going to wait for menopause (I'm almost there) before I do anything. Luckily, mine don't give me much trouble besides throwing my otherwise shapely figure off.
We hope you find a solution that works for you!
I just had mine done August 1st, the pain afterwards was the worst pain ever the worst cramps, non stop, I'm finally feeling better today the 6th, I hope I start feeling relief from these fibroids
Thanks for sharing your story! Best of luck.
How’s it going now thinking of having the procedure?

How’s it going?
That was so beautiful. Thanks for sharing goddess!!!
This definitely NOT painless. Everyone is different. It wasn’t that easy
We agree that everyone is different. The average recovery time for our patients is 11 days, although it can take anywhere from one to two weeks.
Immediately after a UFE procedure, you can expect to have cramping in your lower abdomen for the first 24 hours but this is different per patient and our doctors are here to help.
I go on Tuesday to get an ultrasound
I went and they gave me a hard time because of my insurance
I had mine done three days ago!
Let us know how it went.
How’s it going thinking of having it done?
I get my ufe and 2 weeks from today I am actually nervous i'm trying not to be. The radiologist told me after the procedure is done He said he keeps his patience just 1 day And the hospital because you will be in a lot of pain. You said in your video that they put you to sleep .. My radiologist told me that hes not going to put me to sleep. I will be heavy sedated though. I am nervous
How did your procedure go? mine is next week and I am very nervous too
How did you ladies go?
Thank you both for sharing your stories. When the fibroids dissolve do they come out? What is that process like?
Yes they come out looks like a hard oyster and stinks I had a terrible discharge after the procedure
Oh my! Thank you for sharing. How long did that last? And do you feel 100% better now that it’s over?
Does this procedure also remove endometrial polyps?
Thank you for asking. Our centers focus solely on uterine fibroids and adenomyosis but do recommend reaching out to a medical professional to get more insight.

I don’t know about suggesting UFE to younger women since it apparently can cause miscarriages in future pregnancies.
Hi there! Thank you for your question. UFE preserves the uterus however fertility and the ability to successfully conceive
depends on many different factors. Please visit our website to learn more about pregnancy after UFE: www.usafibroidcenters.com/blog/pregnancy-after-uterine-fibroid-embolization/
The part when she said “you could die” nah since when? That’s when that testimony was a no for me. Not the thing to say without evidence.
You could Die from the Fibroids getting to large
Symptoms can worsen if left untreated.
A friend's wife died as a result of anemia from heavy bleeding due to fibroids.
Yes you can die, unfortunately you can die. I was about to die cuz of lack of blood, bleeding to death. Period lasts even 15 days a month. And not 3 drops. Heavy bleeding like you turn on a water jet! My hemoglobin is 7.4. that is before the period. ..and now, think the minimum hemoglobin that is bad is 11... Literarly you feel life getting out of you, can t walk normally, can t breath normally, even that is an effort, hit yourself in walls and doors, you walk in a direction and finish in other one, head dizziness as probably you ve smoked all the crack invented by humankind! And yes, think about women in Asia, Africa, how many die cuz they have no access to medicine... Yes, you can die. I feel it on my skin, and pray to survive from one period to the other. " Is such a wonderful thing to be a woman!! " My ass!
