I forgot how my exhaust sounds and its driving me nuts!! 🤒🤕😭

    You should look into the2012 Hyundai accent 6 speed manual transmission cuz it has that crappy mechanical fuel pressure regulator setup with the cam follower setup like vw used for a short time....ionly say this cuz that particular part runs 1200 dollars and the motor work is a lil more difficult for even ase certified techs like myself even compared to other Hyundai motors plus U do a very professional job on ur videos thank u

    Can you provide elaboration on TDC compression stroke vs TDC exhaust stroke? As someone who isn't familiar with cars, I just changed the chain myself and found out after putting it together that there's two TDC's for the crankshaft.

    Hi guys nice video but I'm having a problem with my daughters Hyundai Tucson the intake vvt sprocket is jumping slightly like I see in this video and am very skeptical about that little jump , am thinking the chain maybe stretch but you're doing it with a brand new chain and it's doing the same thing I wish I can send you the video but I don't know how but thank you so much your videos always is a good help to me and I have 49yrs experience in auto mechanics 👍 keep up your good work

    Hi, everything seems right to me and explained very well, but my question is since was all marks was on timing and the crank shaft was also flash up & down and ready to install the front cover with the oil pump and also align with the TDC so why you need to turn the engine 2 revolution to install the cover with pump since before and after they have the same position except the timing marks moved .. could you explain please what is the right position for the TDC point what cycle we should be at...

    • @TheInfectiousGames
      @TheInfectiousGames 8 місяців тому

      hey i know this is late but i found an answer for you. The crankshaft is turned through at least two full revolutions. This insures that the belt, and pulleys are in alignment, and that the timing marks can again be aligned to prove that the timing is correct.

    Hello, I noticed that the timing chain appears to be lifting off of the intake CVVT and then snaps down. I am doing the same project on a Kia 3.8 V6 and when I rotate the crank, the same happens. Is this a concern? Did your engine start up? Thanks

    • @edisonnieto5563
      @edisonnieto5563 4 роки тому +2

      Good night the jump is not ok. You can see the height and position of the lobes of the camshaft different between each other, that is due to the jump. To get sure the jump doesnt affect the engine you must hold the scape camshaft with a rachet, then fix the chain, then rotate 720 degrees and check again for secure timing job. Have a nice day

    Please I have a problem with the timing,I was doing Hyundai Elantra 1.8 engine I did what you taught in the video but after the Mark flash on the cylinder head surface, i try to turn the engine again after the TDC Mark the valves lock with the piston please why that happened

  • @williamstein110

    Hi When I crank the timing chain seems to want to jump a tooth. I tried cranking without plugs to try and get some oil pressure into the tensioner to counter this but it didnt build up pressure. I am scared to try start in case it jumps a tooth. My tensioner is brand new chainhas done 150 000 km. Should I just try and start?

  • @nickantuar1682
    @nickantuar1682 4 роки тому +1

    May I ask, why are you changing the timing chain and tensioner anyway? I've been told by my Hyundai dealer that the timing chain should last the life of the vehicle. Great video by the way, thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    • @rickylafleur5823
      @rickylafleur5823 4 роки тому +2

      there is no such thing as a non wearing chain, they will stretch and throw timing slightly off or that with old guides and tensioner can lead to a skip. this is an interference motor so that would catastrophic.

    • @fuzzytaint5021
      @fuzzytaint5021 2 роки тому +6

      I know you probably will never see this comment, but for anyone else reading this the tensioners go bad in these cars leading to a ton of slack in the chain after the oil pressure loss when the car is shut off. When the car is restarted, the chain slaps around for a second or two while oil pressuse is being built back up. This slap wears out the chain, cam gears and guides faster than normal.

  • @sean6049
    @sean6049 Рік тому

    Need help. Went to change the chain. Put new one on. I thought i had it all lined up with the new tensioner and chain on.
    Went to turn it over slowly by hand 2 revolutions to see timing marks lining up, it skipped over some teeth somehow even with the new chain, Then the crank stopped turning.
    (Valve hitting pistol)
    Now what do i do?
    Im stumped.
    Can i take chain off and move the crank and cams independently to proper spots, and put it all back?
