The makeovers on this channel are obviously awesome, but I’d like to shout out James for his amazing editing. The pacing, the perfect mix of bloopers and serious design moments, the funny text overlays and sound drops (like the crickets). Editing is an art, and he is definitely an artist!
Shout out to James🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳and the whole team AG👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Love James!

As I was watching her pull that really low chair up to the built in desk I immediately thought "that chair is way too low and doesn't look like it has any lower back support and I can guarantee there will be multiple comments below about it." lol but overall I loved this makeover. Such a great use of the space.
I'm convinced Alexandra and Alana are some sort of soul mates, they work so well together, always in sync and seem to have so much fun 🥰♥️ also James is fabulous 💁🏻♀️
I was hoping you'd clean up the desk/hutch with a wood cleaner and something like Old English. It would look fantastic.
I love the built-in desk although (fancy but) I feel it's not ergonomic at all with that chair. There might be a hight-adjustable chair with a little foot stool to solve that problem to avoid shoulder pains.
Yes! Great suggestion, Fluffcat65. :)
The chair height works perfectly for my proportions, I’m very tall
@@margareep3969 I'm so glad that you responded, because I thought the same thing about the height of the chair.
@@margareep3969 I was about to say the same thing, but I'm quite short. It's great that it works for you. Great makeover. Enjoy living in your new space.
Exactly! The style should not get over the function.
It’s adorable but I feel like her old work from home space was so much more comfortable/practical
Yes a real cute office chair would be better, that raises and lowers. The ergonomics of that situation are bad. Her arms are going to rise up to reach a keyboard on that desk. Also it would be nice to see how much work it is to plug things in that situation. It wouldn't work for me. I think it would be better as a place to store books, or jewelry, or makeup. A cute bar stool and it might have made workable vanity.
yeah ive seen a ton of these makeovers and while very pretty in pics, i bet a lot of them aren the most comfortable over time. i wouldnt be surprised if many of her changes/layouts have been altered by these people after a few months.
I LOVE this makeover (and I'm sorry to add a 'but' here), but after years and years you still haven't figured out desk-seating and it's so frustrating hahah. 😅 Try putting your arms up on the fold-down desk, like you're typing or using a computer mouse, from that chair height. Your elbows were at least 6+ inches below the desk. No one could work there for longer than a couple minutes at a time. 😫
That’s what I was thinking haha
That was my first thought! The chair is way too low.
I had the same thought. Glad I'm not the only one!
Me, too. I thought the exact same thing. ;)
The chair and desk height work wonderfully for me :) I’m tall 🥰
Favorite studio fix that you've ever done. Everything everything in this room has a purpose, is pleasing to the eye, and the room arrangement is in such a fashion that the room is actually usable. You always do cute makeovers but the 100% functionality of this makeover is unmatched. She is a lucky girl to have this new home crafted by your hand.
Seeing Alexandra’s process of working with Margary to figure out her style and what’s working in her space and what’s not is just confirmation of all the thought and collaboration goes into her designs. She is never unilaterally making rescissions on behalf of the recipient, she’s working with them to create space that speaks to their style AND their needs! Love it
Lovely makeover. I agree about the low looking desk chair. The radiator could have been covered with a Venetian rattan over a wooden frame.
With "bare bulb" type lighting, a dimmer switch is the best. It takes a few minutes to install. Just a suggestion.
Even better, use a smart globe with a dimmer function controlled by your phone. Zero installation. :)
Good idea. My impression was also that it was far too bright
I was hoping this would have been a 35 minute video so Alexandra could have done the bathroom and kitchen too. I love Studio Apt revamps!(probably because I have a 435 sqft apt😁)
Totally agree. What was done, looked great! But what about the bathroom and kitchen?
Yes, would have been awesome too see, but bathrooms and kitchens can be so expensive to do. Although if I lived there and had the cash, the bathroom would have gone through a whole overhaul (moved the fixtures around to make it more functional and one could stand up and have a shower).
Alexandra!! You never cease to amaze me with your skills designing a small space, making them functional BUT GORGEOUS! Love the headboard and the way you utilized the built in! So. Well. Done. 🙌
I love all of Alexandra's makeovers. This space is awesome, the only thing I wouldn't have done is that wall sconce ..
Everytime I watch her videos I want to sell all of my stuff !
I'm only 5 minutes in the video and have 2 comments: 1. I love how although James is working behind the scenes, he's always ready for a killer cameo! 2. I'm crying from the moment Marg sees Alexandra in her studio and going... 😅
totally awesome. including the laughing . What you do with so little space is such a work of art. I love these vids.
I've been a F A N of you, your team, your talent for sometime now. The styles or certain colors don't always appeal to my personal taste BUT the COMPLETED BEAUTY, over style and coordinated colors ALWAYS WIN ME OVER. I wish you many years of success. Fan from Texas, USA Hidee y'all.
And I agree Becky!! I'm a fan also from (Ft Worth 🤠) Texas🇨🇱‼️💕💕
Hey, I’m also a Rebecca from Texas! 😆🤠
You know, it didn’t feel like you were making that many changes when you were going over it space by space but looking at the full view before and afters, it really is a big change. Amazing.
Wow! I usually don't comment, but this needs to be said - this makeover is something you would see on AD. Absolutely stunning!
I love how you take blah places & turn them into beautiful & such workable places. Great job.
Trying to get that couch up the stairs threw me right back to that scene from Friends…. “PIVOT! PIVOT!”
So disappointed to not see that inserted into this video!!!
I did scream "Pivot!" out loud.
Hahahaahha 😂😂😂😂
Great canvas to work on!
Favorites: ceiling lamp and bed spread!
Was hoping a solution for shower would happen.
Desk chair needs height, yes?
👍👍👍
A redo of the shower/bathroom is more than a quick fix of decor. It would involve plumbing renovations and such, plus it's a rental so it would require the Landlord/Owner's permission (way more than it does for a little paint job). Notice they were using Command hooks and strips so they couldn't even put holes in the wall to hang things.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY, HANDS DOWN , THE CUTEST MAKEOVER EVER!!!!! I love everything! the carpet matches the curtain, that little living room area, the headboard, the pendant!!! love love love!!! Keep it up! I enjoy watching your videos! Love from the Philippines!
Alexandra , you are a magician with spaces !! Your work is incredible , out of this world , fantstic !! I have become addicted to your videos - there is a truckload of creativity in your videos !! Love and God bless !!
Love the aesthetics here and using what you already have for the built in desk… but am I the only one wonder how she plugged in her computer to an outlet or even the bedside lamp behind the cane headboard???
They also removed the big basket of cords that was by the window that looked like it had her internet modem and ethernet cables in it
@@alysonlofgren3328 the big basket of cards had a few or many many that I don’t use often. To plug my computer in, I use a power bar behind my large monitor that everything gets plugged into to work, then I only have one cord to unplug to close up the desk
@@alysonlofgren3328 modems still there, just perfectly hidden behind the curtain :)
Georgeous. It inspires me to live in a studio and to see that I have more space in the room Im redecorating. Thankyou.
Studio makeovers are my favourite I think because they're the most substantial. A minimalist room is done rather quickly even though it looks really nice but a whole studio has so many different areas and I think that's why they're the most exciting videos for me.
I am completely in love with what you did in this space, the colours and how airy and still warm it looks.
The floor and the kitchen counter and the foundation of the room are really nice, I'm a sucker for warm hardwood tones and you did the absolute most with a really good base I feel like.
Also how sweet is it to surprise your sister with this, Jubilee! That's such an awesome gift!
Also, I used to live in an apartment where I couldn't stand in the shower because of slanted roof haha
I used to have a bathroom that we described as “too small to change your mind in”. 😂 the shower was under the roof slope, so it was definitely tiny. I could stand up in it, but I’m under 5’2”. My 6’5” partner at the time definitely could NOT stand up in it!
Dying at “Margeree sold all of her furniture. We actually weren’t… expecting that. 😅” … “Margeree is ready for a makeover and I’m here for that energy.”
Replayed like 5 times 😂😂
Stunning! Love the way all the areas are there, and she can put the work space away. The bed now looks much better in that position and the little living area sitting room is adorable!
Stuuuu-nning!!! That light fixture couldn’t be more perfect in that space. Head board - I’m going to do that. Love the idea of closing the work space at the end of the day, as long as the ergonomics and monitor visibility work. The living room is beautiful. You’ve used and filled the space beautifully Alexander.
So gorgeous! The headboard! That mirror! The palette! Just everything!
So gorgeous. I want to move into that space. So cozy, comfy, stylish, peaceful.
You are the magician of small places if u know what I mean. So simple yet so warm and cozy. Well done!!!
I am officially addicted to your Channel! I am not addicted to any UA-cam Channel. I can't think of a more uplifting,, positive treat for my mental health. a time to unwind and get those goody feelings! gonna help me with winter months (with my Depression)here in Newfoundland! You are all so talented and kind!!
Love the different spaces and how you made each one work, but I do question the desk situation. How does everything plug in? Won’t the cord make I harder to close up at the end of the day? I feel like this wasn’t addressed, just that it can close at the end of the day with no cord in sight.
It would make no sense, not to use the the desk. Just unplug things and stick the cords in the cabinet when your pau hana.
As for the chair a pillow is all you need.
@@tonalyn yes that’s exactly what I’ve done :) one long power cord that goes behind my large monitor, everything plugged into it, the I unplug one cord to close up the desk :)
Alexandra’s little ‘posing’ breaks make my WHOLE day complete…😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰
wow I got teary eyed during the face time call and at the reveal! The space looks AMAZING, everything works so well together. I love her apartment!
LOL, I kept thinking "PIVOT!" as they took the sofa upstairs. I watch too much Friends!
I immediately made two of those mirrors when they first came out. I made them black and distressed them with that matte goldish color (can't remember the name on the tube - I was one of those buffing tubes of stuff - wow, my brain is working great today...). I though It was so easy to replicate, I don't know why anyone would spend that much money on it...for the name associated with it I guess. All of this came out amazing! 😍
I’ve never wanted to live in a studio apartment before, but this one … wow!
Love this makeover! It just looks so much cozier and homier. Margaree will certainly want to relax in her living room now. :D Another great one, Alexandra! ♥♥♥
Oh, and I'm soooo glad you turned the bed around. Looks so much better. ♥
I love the built in cupboard that you modified.. a prior mentioned concern about the high of the drop-down desk leaf might be resolved with a taller chair or an office chair that will go higher. I love how you redesign these tiny spaces without breaking the bank. Kudos!
Just amazing, starting my day with alexandra's and Danie's videos!
Saturdays am s are the best! I start looking forward Friday! And to think I used to waste them going to an AA meeting! Don't get excited; I found one later in the day.
I always do that on Sundays, love it!
I wish you were in Miami, Fl. I'm moving from a 3
Bdrm house to a studio; bitter sweet move, my Moms death to Covid sparked all this and though I'm really excited, I write while balling my eyes out bcuz her essence still lingers in the house. I really love your videos and humor. And ALL those folks behind the scenes, that help bring your vision to life. WOW, I'm incredibly emotional at the moment. Gonna stop writing.
I love your channel. I learn so much watching them. The coffee table is so cool
I’m shocked - this was an incredible transformation!!!
Alexandra Gater is amazing. I've seen several of her videos by now, and am awed by her talent.
Simply gorgeous, the piece de resistance is that mirror!!! 💙
Loved the second watch of this one, reminds me that your makeovers are timeless!
that is such an incredible built in, the desk idea is genius
All of these videos make me SO SO SO glad I left Toronto over 10 years ago! What tiny places!
I wish my first studio apartment had that much room. It is a super unique space! I was paying $525/a month in 2013 not necessarily the nicest neighborhood in Chicago. That payed for what felt like the size of a closet! Also I love what you did it looks great ❤️❤️
Love the new make over every single week! AG team is on the roll! Love it! Makes my weekend perfect! Don’t stop!!! 💕
I would have done a small bistro style table with two smaller chairs where the bench is under the window so that she has a space to share a meal with someone and an alternate work area. Havin natural light and a view in front of you for certain kind of work (maybe not computer) is really nice. Aslo agree with other comments about switching the bed direction. It fit perfectly in the nook before whereas now it protrudes into the room. And because of the angle of the wall, it doesn't look like you can sit up in bed now with the new direction.
Great idea for the bistro table, I actually have that in my kitchen with two stools already
Who else loved the DYI Danie cameo in the intro
I love it …and if she ever needs an eat in area she can put a small table by her bench and her desk chair can double or a fold down table by the window with a piano hinge (diy Danie could make it) now that the desk is gone the possibilities and the floor space are awesome. Y’all did a great job. I do wonder if maybe she should add locking casters to the bottom of her desk chair to give it just a little more height to reach her desk and make it easier to move around when not in use
Before it was OK liveable but now it's a beautiful home, seems so much bigger and cosier, excellent job as to be expected, team Alexandra win again x
This has to be one of my favorite makeovers. I love the headboard, the over head light, the couch and mirror.....i just love everything.
I loved this makeover, everything was tied together brilliantly. I learn each time from these episodes that going and living tiny is the most economical way to live. Looking to go back to my minimal living. James is adorable, I truly love when you include the AG team cameos it is great to see so much joy in your work. Thank you for the videos bright moments in not such a calm world.
Such a beatiful transformation! But I've notice seeing your vídeos that you use a lot this kind of dried plants and I think you may elevate your spaces and decor by using fresh flowers.
So good! I love these types of makeovers. And your team executes them flawlessly
The space is so open and beautiful - I love the pendent shade.
The space looks so much larger with everything you and your team have done. Warm and inviting 💞
The seating area and bench are my favorite!
This transformation is amazing, the pieces are so harmoniously put together, the room looks great! 😀👍
StunninggggggggggggggggggggAnd that Mirror left me speechless.
So why didn’t you get a chair tall enough to work at the desk?
Another WIN! for Team AG!!! WONDERFUL!
The “every time I lift something heavy, I go into hysterics” is exactly what happens to me. And it irritates my husband to no end, which makes me laugh harder 😂😂😂 Love this apartment makeover! 💕
I mean this in the nicest way possible… it’s like you’re reversing the process of when people have unique styles of their own and have a house that feels “them” from living there lives there. You are summing up the person so well with these designs, that just shows how much you understand your clients ❤️☺️
This is a stunning makeover!!
Stunning. Stunning. Stunning. You have indeed, opened up the space. Stunning! X
I think this is my favourite transformation. That ceiling light shade is gorgeous.
This is the best makeover I've seen in studio fix
I LOVE this apartment! So quirky, has loads of character, and the natural light is beautiful. The living area looks amazing. Guarantee she'll be using it, to cozy up in by herself, and to have guests over. I'd have moved the bed the same way, put a 2nd bedside table in there, white-washed the cane and frame of the headboard, and hung the plants by the window so they wouldn't be in the way getting in and out of the bed area. It was a great space to begin with, but you have made it look very inviting and upscale.
So, I love that you turned the little built-in into a home office, but I think if you actually added a keyboard to the drop-down shelf, you would find the chair is way too low. There’s no way someone could comfortably type at that height. Also, I’m concerned about the owner getting out of bed in the middle of the night, in the dark and either whacking her head on those hanging plants or stubbing her toe on that arched bench... Otherwise, it looks great.
It’s so pretty. THAT MIRROR IS INCREDIBLE! It really would cost a fortune, I’ve priced them!
Where do you plug in the monitor?
Well done. I was worried about your use of the pinks but it's super tasteful and gives the room an antique feel without feeling old.
The mirror hack is GENIUS
Beautiful, but that work station ....does not work! The height of the chair is too low for the "table"!
Loved this! Just realized how much time yourself and team must spend looking for light fixtures, thank you all.
It seems The chair is not high enough to The desk...
My jaw dropped-amazing😱
Manifesting my customized studio !
I love how much you guys laugh, it's hilarious and your work is just pristine!!!!
It's a cute studio, love the built in desk and bed nook. I agree with all the other comments, the chair is too low to work at the desk. I would not want the hanging plants in the walk way of the bed, shouldn't have to duck around them, not practical. There's room on each side of the window to hang them. It's really cute, the seating area makes it so much more inviting & like the position of the bed, can access both sides.
This is hands down one of my favorites EVER! I would live in this space in a heartbeat.
Oooh! This is pure joy! A + team have done an Alpha makeover for an amazing person. They say that the best gift a couple can give their daughter is a sister... ❤️
Your best makeover yet!! 💜
Gorgeous colors and amazing pieces. A lovely, cozy place to live.
I love the whole space! I need the overhead light
I personally liked the Before Bettler
i just discovered this channel and i cant tell how videos ave watched already how you're able to transform a house to a home its all epic
Great color palette pulled together (muted earth tones of rust), texture on key (curtains AND rug) and a super flow to movement around the room...there is enough. Very impressed..and your sense of humor with your team is infectious. I was ready for someone to fall down the stairs with laughter!
Gorgeous!! Can't deal with how cute & tiny that lamp is ☺️
Best makeover ever!!!!
Definitely need a height adjustable desk chair. Everything is perfect 👍🏼!! ❤️❤️❤️
What a heartwarming gift from a kind sister. Is the desk chair a bit low for the work surface? Was that a real candle, or did it scorch the sloped ceiling when you moved it to close the desk? I would have picked an more airy coffee table and a less chunky bedside table, but the upholstered furniture and textiles work so well with the great art and soft colour pallet. Nice ceiling light, but (at least on camera) the wall sconce seems harsh. Great finishing touches, as always :)
One of my faves. The past few weeks have been better than ever. You have inspired me to get cracking on some projects in my home
Ive watched this video four times, it’s so comfy yet organic and uncluttered. I just love it 🥰
