Oh! It looks so pretty! Although, as a maximalist, I would love it if you could remake a maximalist - eclectic studio, mixing bold colours, patterns and all the craziness in an elegant way, you clearly have the talent and vision for it!
Hi from France :) Everything goes together, it's very charming! I think I would prefer a regular table than a standing table as its more confortable to sit. Is it only me?
She also can't have more than one guest over for dinner. I would have preferred a regular dining table for 4, similar to the one Alexandra has in her place.
There's lots of things to love about this makeover: the curtains, the plants, the ottoman, creating a dining nook, the wacky window set up. Things I found that didn't sit right only imo of course: the custard colour and the warmth of the rug against the 'coolness' of the grey couch, the over use of black metal and I know you love that sort of lighting in the nook...to me it looks untidy and unfinished. I really enjoy your videos even though your design style isn't mine. I always find lots of your combinations work better than I would have expected and you're a fount of great ideas and resources. I hope you take my thoughts just as a discussion around design choices and is not at all meanspirited in intent.
I agree with you 100% on the likes abs the dislikes! And our love for these videos. We might have a similar style sense but I don’t know what mine is called yet!
Agree 100% the couch and rug- separately they are both great pieces, but they just weren’t vibing together! And for a Scandinavian look, I think there was too many black accents. Scandinavian is more whites and natural woods tones and textures.

I’m going they some really tuff stuff and I thought, “Maybe a new episode is ready. That would lift me up.” And bing, this episode was posted 55 seconds ago! I’m so excited. Thanks, Alexandra. 😊
It took me awhile to complete my viewing. My father’s in the overcrowded hospital with heart failure and I can’t be with him due to COVID restrictions. I’m hiking in the woods, keep stopping to take photos to remind me of God’s beautiful creations, and then restarting video. But…great makeover. I may be a little over emotional right now, but this room became a such a peaceful sanctuary and made me feel much better!
@@RA-go5qk Sending you some love from a fellow fan of Team AG! 💚And I'm pleased you wished this episode into being exactly when you most needed it. I lost my own dad suddenly 19 years ago of a heart attack when he was still young (47... only 8 years older than I am now 😰), so I have no frame of reference for what it's like to be worrying about a parent in the hospital like that, and can only imagine how difficult it is... though I don't think there's ever a "right" way or time to lose a parent, even though it's something most of us will go through at some point (the knowledge of which doesn't really make it easier!). Maybe I'm making too many assumptions - I know having heart failure isn't necessarily the end of the road depending on various factors (forgive me, I'm not a doctor and got my medical education from ER/Grey's Anatomy/etc! 🙈)... but the point I'm probably clumsily trying to make is, a random person on the internet is thinking of you and sending you strength and courage, and hoping you continue to find distraction and soul-soothing in both UA-cam and nature 🌳🍁🍂🧡
@@RA-go5qk Sending you lots of love from the Netherlands! I also had heart failure last year, so I know exactly what your father is going through and how hard it is for friends and family. @@RA-go5qk sending you love also from the Netherlands, I can really feel how you feel, my dad passed away less than two months ago from heart failure and I couldn't be with him either...I wish yours will have a fast recovery and you will be together soon!! 🙏
Scandi style is my absolute favorite. This room looks SO beautiful, but I think it is a bit overstyled for scandi style (too many pompoms, ratan and macrame...) so it looks more like "neutral boho" than actual scandi. I also don't understand the choice to have a teeny tiny bar table as a "dining nook", and then fill the rest of the space with plants, when that nook could fit a larger dining table which she could use to have friends over for dinner.
The dining nook was my favorite part, I am even planning to do something similar in my place. I would have never even imagined anything similar before watching this video. I am grateful we all have different ways to see the world, that way we can learn from each other. It would be so annoying if everybody thought the exact same way I do. No chance of growing.
I agree that it is a bit too much decorated to be Scandi, and too dark in some places. Nevertheless it is beautiful. However, the ottoman does not fit that well size och colourwise. Greetings from Sweden, we live Scandi😀
@@liza1809 Uhm... Of course it's great that we all have different ways to see the world. The nook is beautiful indeed. I'm just pointing out a little practical issue. If that's the only space she has to eat meals, then it would be more useful to have a table that fits more than 2 people, because now she can't have more than 1 guest over. It would have been perfectly possible to fit a table for 4 people there and still get the same kind of look/vibe. Cheers
@@marjorievanelven1703 it’s ok that she can only fit one guest at the table because she has a tiny couch and no other seating. She can’t have more than one person over anyway.
I love it. If it was my place I would want a low table and chairs that I could pull over when I had company. I would put a picture over the table for height.

Everything looks so well put together. No one asked me, but the one thing I would tweak is elevating the olive tree and using an up light on the floor to create cast shadows from the leaves.
I love a large picture but that is attractive and I really believe you could find something alot nicer than that. Do love the dining nook picture and lighting. That ottoman is gorgeous
Alexandra's lighthearted personality makes me want to spend time with her as much as her genius designs do. I love the nook color, and my fave detail is the curtain tie-backs.
I don't know anything about styles...well, maybe I do, but I know I don't have this ability to visualize how Alexandra does. I myself am more for functionality and minimalism. Love her final results ❤
The more I watch Alexandra's videos, the more I realize why she's actually primarily an interior decorator and not a designer. The final result is always wonderful and nice to look at, but often lacks functionality and even mismatches styles. For example, several things in this video hit the scandi mark, but overall it's actually more contemporary Boho. Then again, I'm sure it fits the customer's requirements and wishes, so kudos to Alexandra for always delivering.
In Greece we have a lot of olive trees! Oil from Kalamata or crete is very famous. You should go for vacation to greece to see them closely. Many kisses from Greece ❤
I love the butter color for the nook wall that add warm tones- I might have added a bench there for one of the plants that could be pulled more into the room for extra seating or one under the window. Wish the sofa wasn't grey but more cream or beige but its the perfect size ! Love you embracing another design style and shining !!!
