Be interested in seeing a V3 vs Prima both at 27 inches and 60lbs. Thought I saw somewhere a Mathews rep saying the Prima was the most efficient bow they ever made.
I’ll have to make that one happen! 👊🏽
@@HaxenHunt Seconding this video request!
I'm super curious about speeds in the higher end of the weight and draw ranges for all the short-draw bows (prima, eclipse, and solution) compared to the flagships at the same settings.
Did you ever shoot them at 27.5 draw length. If so i would like to know the velocities you got and which arrow grain you used. If you have previously done this please advise the results.
Thanks
How about a review of the Hoyt eclipse at 60 lbs and 26.5 draw
Great video!! I like to see that hoyt at 60lbs and a 27in draw
So needed this. I have the Eva Shockey Gen 2 and looking for a quieter bow, you sealed the deal for me.
that was great bro im concidering one of the two im a guy but short draw lenght thanks again !!! if u get a chance do it again with more depth
any chance of a bowtech solution sd review
Howdy from Texas! Thank you for creating this video. I am a lady looking to get into bow hunting and I appreciate the info.
good stuf!!
my wife spent some quality time at the local pro shop yesterday shooting the Mathews Prima, Hoty Eclipse and the Bowtech Solution SD. She placed an order on a Prima.
Heck ya! Congrats! That’s awesome!
I am strongly considering the prima. How does she like it now?
Sure would like to see 26.5 or 27 @ 60
Interesting. I am a female with a 26” draw length. I shot both bows set at 43# and preferred the Prima. I felt it had a smoother draw, slightly better back wall, and much better valley. It also felt more stable, which wasn’t surprising because the riser is longer. I felt minimal vibration in both after the shot. The Hoyt did roll over smoother into the valley, however the Prima had a longer valley which I personally prefer. I ordered the Prima.
I wonder if they were both set to your draw length if that would have made a difference in how it felt.
That’s good to know! Yeah I wonder if I was able to set them to 29” draws of the way they feel would change! Maybe I’ll get my wife to shoot them and see what she says
@@HaxenHunt that’s a good idea! Both are great bows. I just prefer the draw cycles of the Mathews.
my wife noticed the exact same thing as you when comparing them. especially how stable it was compared to the Hoyt. that's what she ordered.
@@MidwestBowAndArrow it overall shot much nicer. I did not care for the draw cycle at all on the Hoyt. Plus the dip on the Hoyt’s don’t look as nice.
You can definitely tell that the valley on the Hoyt is really short because it pulled off the wall a couple times on him when he slacked a bit. Probably has to do with being used to much higher poundage and feeling like you need to keep it engaged in the wall, but it’s not a huge jump to think women shooting this bow might run into the same issue.
Great video man my wife fell in love with the eclipse it’s a great shooting bow 👍🏽
Awesome! Love the new intro man.
Thank you!! 👊🏽👊🏽
I’m having a hard time choosing between these two and the bowtech carbon rose? I’m using bear now, I only started last year, but ready to upgrade! Which one do you think?
Good review but I have to say I like the old intro music lol it was up beat and a feel good vibe.
Haha thanks man! I’ll keep switching it up!
You and that arrow grain lol But also another awesome video brotha keep it up!!
Same day😂 I was dislexic that day hahaha
It happens! Ask me how I know lmao Hopefully you can compare the new Eva shockey Bowtech to these two bows also!
question you said the hoyts 50 lb draw will them smaller cams help a woman be able to pull that back easily ?? my gf think she gets to about 30 to 40lb w this one Mathew youth bow she tried but curious to know if them smaller cams will allow her to pull 40 to 50 lb draw easier
5 fps is negligible. The biggest advantage I see for the Hoyt is the 6.75" brace vs the 5.5" brace of the Mathews.
With shorter draw lengths it’s not an issue.
@@archercat2515 you're correct but forgiveness is forgiveness. At the end of day it's all about making an ethical.shot and a longer brace allows for that
@@ianmcgaughey1 someone with a 26” draw length, such as myself, will still have more forgiveness with a 5.5” brace height than someone with a 29” draw and a 7”brace height because the power stroke is shorter, 20.5 vs 22.
Ian McGaughey only giving up 5 FPS while gaining 1.25” in brace is pretty impressive. I too am always looking for a more forgiving bow.
I have shot the prima but have not been able to get my hands on the eclipse yet. I really want to shoot it!
Thank you. Great review
👊🏽👊🏽
How is the accuracy on the prima.
Money! It’s such a sweet bow! Had the chance to shoot with someone who had a prima at the “Total Archery Challenge” and she killed it with the prima at all the long distance shots!
First love ur videos
He seems to be biased right off the bat and correct me if i am wrong does he not shoot a hoyt already?? Just did bot seem to be the best apples to apples test. Plus his “wobble” may have been his hand placement had a lot of hand contact on the handle so that could have been the “wobble”. All the hoyts i have shot have been way harsh and in fact i hurt my RTC pulling one of their bows. I am an avid shooter and have a SD and to me the Bowtech SD and the prima have been better even my elite valor was smoother and faster.
My Hoyt RX-7 Ultra is amazing, smooth as butter and shoots awesome, tried the RX-7 same day, same pounds, same 70 pound draw and it downright hurt my shoulder. Shopping for wifes bow now and hard to find a shop with bows in stock to try, makes it hard to know what will work for her, as no substitute for testing them back to back
Dude I'm 48 with a bad left shoulder from a car wreak and I'm seriously looking towards a bow like that. The way I look at is women like Tiffany Lakosky has killed more deer than I will ever see lol. Speed sucks if u can't hit what your aiming at
Your just bius with the hoyt lol cause that's your brand I'd go with the prima
Haha my reviews are totally unbiased! Hoyts tend to feel better in my hand than Mathews but I don’t care what company I shoot as long as it’s comfortable in my hand! However everyone’s preference is going to be different since we all shoot differently
@@HaxenHunt I figured so just felt like giving ya crap lol love the videos .
Hahaha I know😂 I just wanna make sure people know I’ve got nothing to do with Hoyt haha thanks for your support!!
