Your review is based on opinion and perceived feel and vs. facts with one exception, speed. The Darton was the second fastest bow with a 400 grain arrow. The Consequence has machined aluminum limb pockets vs plastic on most other bows. Darton has larger axles and bearings than its competitors. The Consequence limb bolt are threaded into a steel pivoting barrel vs drilling and tapping directly into an aluminum rise like Elite does. The Darton limbs are wider then all of its competitors which makes it a more stable shooting platform especially when compared to the Bowtech and Elites extremely narrow limbs. Darton has a machined aluminum roller guard instead 50 year old cable slide and cable bar technology that is found on the Elite and Bowtech. The Consequence has a smoother draw force curve when measured and plotted on a graph. The Consequence also has the longest brace height 7.75" without sacrificing speed which also makes it a more forgiving bow to shoot. The sequence offers higher quality components compared to the Bowtech, Hoyt, and Elite and is the least expensive bow out of the bunch. Your biggest complaint on the Darton is it's a top heavy bow, no different then 99% of any Mathews bow that has been manufactured in the last 10 years. When a stabilizer with 3 ounces of weight (which is what most stabilizers come with) is installed it is no longer top heavy and balances very well. Mass weight is a positive and negative when it comes to bows. fact is heavier bows are more stable and aim better but lighter bows are more comfortable to carry all day. Percieved feel is a very personal thing and every shooter perceives noise, vibration, back walls, jumpiness, and draw cycle differently. In the end go out and shoot all of them and find out what draws the best for you, holds the steadiest, with a recoil, vibration, and noise that is executable to you. Sorry if this comes across critical but you left out a lot of important information. the more information a person has the better chance they will make the right decision when it comes time to pick out a new bow.
@1119COLORADO why don't you come up with you own content, you sound lost when it comes to all of this, just spouting out jargon trying to elevate yourself go put out your own videos instead of criticizing people that actually do this with subs and views ... you literally sound like a bot ...
I was looking at the torrex and the consequence. Within 6 shots with each I knew the consequence was the right one for me. It’s stupid smooth and the let off is amazing
@@michaelschnitzer4054 mine goes from 60-70 pounds so you should be able to find one unless shops near you don’t have them yet. The website still says pre order so I’m wondering if not all shops have access to them yet. I just got mine last Thursday cuz they didn’t have the black in that shop but did up at another one
@@michaelschnitzer4054I’m highly considering the sequel 33. I’m still shooting a Hoyt faktor time for an upgrade. Alpha x is almost 2 grand after tax up here in Canada.
To answer your question to see if the darton still falls back with a stabilizer. I noticed a big difference when one was added. It made it more dead in the hand as well. I've shot both the elite and the darton, and I feel both were great. You can't go wrong with either.
I got in to the archery with the Torrex and it was a great bow for the 2 years I owned it, I don't remember it feeling jumpy. Recently traded up to the Mathews Lift.
Darton has a neutral riser due to the 7.5” brace height. It’s going to roll back just like a target bow would. Darton is the only one with a roller cable guard. Has a wider limb stance.
My Bear Alaskan XT is the best bang for the buck. After I got it set up and tuned, it shot quieter than the Mathews Lift, and putting arrows into the 9/10 ring on a 80cm target at 60 yards. And it's only around $530 bow only.
Elite makes great bows, I’m loving my new Ethos…got lucky on the initial setup and she was shooting bareshaft bullet holes through paper without adjustment…I agree with your assessment on the Terrian, it would have been my pick at this price point as well…elites are so smooth
Amazing video. Really appreciate your candor. Shooting is personal, we all need something different to make the shot feel “solid”. But seeing how the bows reacted while you were shooting (and your reactions in real time) was priceless. You tested all the bows I was really wanted to try. I was also looking at the lower priced Diamond Edge XT and Max for the price and 20-70 lbs adjustability given my two rotator cuff surgeries. After setting up both and shooting in the store, the Consequence was soooo smooth, had a much nicer sight and was quieter. I also love that the drop-away arrow rest came standard. My first bow was a recurve and I’m still building strength. And the Consequence also has a 10 lb adjustability range so hoping that gives me the space to grow from a 50 into a 60 before needing to replace it. I pick it up next week! Can’t wait. Also to all the people who took the time to comment and dropped gems about their set ups, thank you too! It was great to read about what setups people were running that were working for them. Keep up the great work.
As a first bow ever, I bought the Torrex last year, not knowing better it felt good in my hand after I shot 4000 shots and the cable slide ate my string, had to replace the strings and added a TAP roller guide which smoothed it out some. I like the bow but as a novice we wouldn't know the difference as you do, I appreciate your insight.
I shot both the consequence and the torrex in the same ten minutes and that alone sold me on the consequence because of the draw cycle. It was smooth and very consistent
I don’t have the Zion per se but do have the Diamond Deploy SB which is pretty well the same thing and it’s still one of my favorites. I also have an Elite Ritual 30 in 70# and a Xpedition Smoke in 60# and still shoot the Deploy just as much as the others.
Everyone keeps telling me to buy once cry once but there is so much to learn with archery and brands. I have a used hoyt defiant. It aggressively wants to pull forward. I'm 52 with 2 major shoulder injuries ajd my draw strength isn't good. I'm drawing at 50# now but working on it. Trying to figure out if I should get a low pound age drawing bow like the mathews image etc or maybe a 60lb bow tuned down until I improve. I'm enjoying shooting .
Definitely sounds like that Hybrid Cam is out of time in that Torrex, the wanting to jump forward is a classic symptom of that in any hybrid cam setup, the Bear DHC are notorious for it as well if the top cam is running behind the bottom, it almost want to jerk you forward into it if you let up even just a little.
I have an Elite GT500 from 2008, and I am still trying to justify upgrading. Are the newer bows that much more advanced from what I am currently shooting? Was Kevin Strothers that far ahead of the game when he designed the GT500? I honestly haven't any idea.
I just got the torrex in same color and mine is not jumpy at all solid backwall and hardly no vibration at all so I think you have timing or some issue
I appreciate the review. I'm lookin to upgrade this year. But not sure if I wanna go with a top of the line or a mid-grade. the mid grade bows are better than what I started on 25 years ago lol.
Kind of regretting not starting with one of these bows versus the Bear package bow I bought. Maybe could have gotten another year shooting it before upgrading.
Ahh at those price points those are top shelf flagship bows !!! Crazy we're letting the industry make us think that $800 price tag is now mid range and its recommended to "start out" with. We keep buying into it and the prices will continue to skyrocket
One thing for everyone to remember is that the more comfortable the draw, the slower it will be. The harder the draw cycle, the faster it will be. It's just the way things are.
So if you literally can’t spend more, I get it but is it worth just spending 3,400 more and getting a ‘better’ bow? I only shoot a recurve and am thinking about getting a compound
The Bowtech Zion is the oldest bow in this lineup and would be fastest on performance? Owned a Carbon Overdrive back in day never liked the grip which I think has been changed.
I would agree. Haven't held or shot the Darton but of the bunch my least favorite is the Bowtech Zion. I don't like much anything about it. The riser design is a big turnoff in itself for me.
Its not even close on quality of components the Darton smokes them all. No cast or plastic riser. No plastic limb pockets. Least amount of vibration. Again, his limited experience shows again for a reviewer.
See I would have 110% agreed with you on that! However shooting these other bows with it, it’s surprising how much smoother the other ones feel side by side. Go shoot the elite with the Torrex side by side and let me know your thoughts! I love to hear how other people feel about them side by side!
Alright guys. I’m gonna tell you what I’m gonna do and then tell you again and then tell you again and then waste your ENTIRE FRIKIN DAY! I’m not your guy. Stop calling me that. Stop repeating yourself over and over.

Darton is the winner here. Take a close look at everything on the bow. 7”+ brace height and all the same quality components on their flagship bows.
I was looking at the torrex and the consequence. Within 6 shots with each I knew the consequence was the right one for me. It’s stupid smooth and the let off is amazing

Torrex xt !! Over these
Put a weighted stabilizer on the Darton and it’s the winner, I just set mine up,same bow, but I am also an Elite fan and owner.

Great review. Elite is hard to beat. Shooting a comfortable shooting bow is huge. Especially for new hunters that want to practice a lot.
I got in to the archery with the Torrex and it was a great bow for the 2 years I owned it, I don't remember it feeling jumpy. Recently traded up to the Mathews Lift.
How do you like your Mathews Lift? Asking because I'm thinking of picking one up in the next two weeks.
@@whodidwhat32one does not simply pick up a Matthews lift. It’s a fuckin Morgage payment.
I'd rather have a torrex than a lift lol

Not to mention aluminum limb pockets instead of the composite ones other budget bows use to keep costs down.

Who won the bow?
No winner yet! I apologize! Video coming soon!
Torrex and torrex xt are noticeable differences between them I really wish they would use the xt for things like this
Zion for the win.. Most adjustable and dependable. Packing that bow for miles in the woods is no problem.
Agreed. Just picked up a fox and really like it. That sucker shoots fast and very light to pack

I haven’t heard anyone say the Torrex is jumpy. I bet it was out of time.
Definitely a possibility! I’m gunna have to go check it again! However the draw cycle didn’t feel nearly as smooth as the elite..
