This week we are back in Germany with a beautiful 1958 356A 1600 Super. Its owner, Sebastian Wolff, has experienced plenty of Porsches in his time-just watch him riding the diesel tractor to the barn where he makes the switch to the significantly sportier for proof-but he makes no airs of being an expert on the marque. Rather than memorize decimals and stats, the enjoyment is found in the action of driving the car on country roads, or simply admiring the 356 at rest, taking in the distinct curves wearing the elegant shade of Meissen Blue. There’s no wrong way to express your passion for Porsche, but we tend to favor Sebastian’s approach: find a road far removed from the stress of urban density, literally unplug from the nagging call of constant connectivity, and submerge yourself in the joys of driving a simple but engaging sports car.

Im german and he sounds like an actor...nobody talkes like that.
HardcoreX Giant Das Stimmt 😂
It really sounds unuasal but I admire him for speaking so clearly and for being so well spoken.
Maybe he actually is a professional voice actor or something
You're right, most Germans are incomprehensible, this guy actually makes this language sound half decent, which is a great feat.
My guess is he's an enthusiast that learned the language after falling in love with the cars, culture etc.
I agree. This whole episode sounds completely scripted. How he speaks sounds like acting, what he says is like written by an algorithm. "I like the colour and the smell of the car." Of course. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't even his car.
My absolute favorite year. the '58/59 have that beautiful A styling with a bit more mechanical sophistication. Herr Wolff's example is simply beautiful and you can feel his passion. Listening to it in German let me disconnect from the actual words and experience the orchestral beauty of the film. Wonderful. Thanks! F
Cool, Heidi and Franny's Garage is also watching Petrolicious 👍
A beautiful example of a 356A! Thanks for posting!
This channel is so good.
I love how the last shot is of the blue water with the red traffic barrier, exactly matching the colours of the car.
I was thinking, red guardrails. I like that.
356 is almost as good as it gets when it comes to vintage! Well done
Gorgeous. I just watched a bunch of 356's race last weekend at my local vintage races. Sweet cars. Love the vintage Porsches.
That color makes classic cars look superb!!
I want a garage like that. You drive in a tractor and it comes out a Meissen. Amazing
No way! This is my all time favorite car! I've also had the pleasure of seeing a Porsche-Diesel Super in person which was a dream come true.
Not just a Porsche 356 and also a Porsche tractor; love it :)
Piece of art ... Nothing else
I own my grandfathers '63 356C in Meissen Blue with a red interior. I've never been a huge fan of blue cars esp darker blue. But never has a color fit a car better than does Meissen Blue on a 356. In fact I've been toying with the idea of buying my first "modern" Porsche (finances won't allow me a brand new one so I've been looking at a couple pre-owned Cayman variants) but as a tribute to both my grandfather's car and vintage Porsche's in general, it'll certainly be Meissen Blue/Red. Another bang up job from Petrolicious!
Eric Hakanson but Meissen blue is a light blue?
Abul Mamodo I know, I was just saying I didn't really like blue cars esp dark blue cars. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was saying Meissen is a dark blue. The only blue colors I like are obviously Meissen along with Porsche's Miami Blue and BMW's Yas Marina Blue, which are all lighter hues. I just don't think sports cars look good in darker blue hues.
agree with some of the comments below. This color appears to be Aquamarine or Oslo Blue, rather than Meissen. Meissen is very light, like a sky blue.
The soundtrack just seems off in this one.
I felt that way until he revealed the car came from California. Then the music made sense...
I'd rather hear those "carburetors screaming" than ANY kind of music.
Yeah, I noticed it too. It's a bit different than usual with that music and slow-motion footage. I think that there is usually more continuous footage with more natural sounds and less editing. Interesting experiment non the less.
Ditto for me - jumped around too much and never seemed to really match the car or visuals??
Not enough noise from that 1.6 liter four - it sounds just like a VW Beetle, so I can understand why they just turned up the soundtrack on this one.
I'm not sure why, but this video and the music really put off a happy feeling
What an enthusiast ! Fabulous like his car !
Seine Stimme , das Auto , der Traktor ... alles deutsche Perfektion ! 👌 Chris aus Bremen / Deutschland
AT the beginning, I was kind of hoping it was going to be about the tractor! lol
Thank you Petrolicious. Thanks to you I am trying to share other people's stories with my UA-cam channel.
Thank you, Petrolicious, again. And again.
This might be the first Petrolicious video where the visuals AND audio are on point. Usually the audio is lacking in the recording, editing, mixing, you name it, but not this one. Well done.
beautiful work guys!
as a german...perfekt! you made the video as german as possible. facts. passion for motors and a bit of showing off. really like it!
Schöner Umgebung, schönes auto und toller bilder. Thanks.
Wunderschoenes Auto, sympathischer Fahrer, ausgezeichnetes Video. Danke.
I like it, how the end the drone went to different directions
Superb example... and a great video!
Hey i am from Germany. First of all really nice Video but there is something i don't like. When the person says something it seems
like he learned his text very well. It would be nicer if he speeks free only using the words that are in his head in this moment. Only my opinion
Excelent content! Love the slow motion shots on this video.
Pure art about pure art
Beautiful car, beautifully filmed. Why doesn't this excellent channel have 1M+ subscribers?
The 356 will always be timeless....
Beautiful car. Beautiful film.
was für ein Liebhaber ! Tolles Video und super Typ ! :-)
toller Film, Wahnsinnsauto !!!
I got one word “vonerbahr”...and I understood!!
Isnt this aquamarine blue and not Meissen blue?
Indeed the Meissen blue is lighter.
Gorgeous vid. Thanks
Immer wieder schön zu sehen, welche Autos man nie besitzen wird 😆.
Gorgeous!
Maybe it is the color grading of the video but the color doesnt look like Meissen. Meissen blue is much brighter, similar to Gulf blue...
It’s Aquamarine Blue 5707
I'm about to paint my 85 Toyota Xtracab this color. Beautiful
That is aquamarine blue.
fantastic
Why no lotus europa???
Awesome video as always!!!
find a Europa that runs and looks nice
jurgens 911 vogl they are out there
Dont be hoggish there is plenty Porsche in this series.
Hey Jurgens with the price of porsche vintage getting way out of hand its time to do 356 replicar shoots.
Nice one! Btw, very clear spoken as well. My German language skills are far from perfect, but it was easy to follow.
That's a very fancy squashed VW Beetle... as Clarkson would say!
Even so, I like it a lot.
Good looking and "feeling" car
Awesome guys
Ein Traum!!
Spectacular cinematography and beautiful car /setting but the music is super random and not fitting of the images we're looking at. This one could have benefited from an all classic soundtrack. Thanks for the awesome videos every week guys.
EPIC!
Fantastic!!!!
Aquamarine Blue 5707 not Meissen. Mine is a 1957 356A 1600 Super in same color.
nice
Wait am I seeing this wrong? At 2:56 the Porsche goes from Left hand drive to right hand drive back to left hand again?!
Я с мечтаю с детства о ней
how much HP did the 1600S configuration deliver compared to the stock - model ? any ideas ?
The good life ~
Sorry but that’s aquamarine not Meissen blue
That's a beautiful piece of automotive art but it doesn't appear to be Meissen Blau, which is a much lighter shade of blue. Aquamarinblau, perhaps?
Petrolicious just posted another video, coffee time.
What happened to the license plates?
Beautiful car but one of the worst "documentary" videos Petrolicious has ever put out. Way too much fabricated video scenes and unnatural coverage. Disappointing
Anyone know the music at 0.59? Grant Green or the likes?
Can't understand a word he is saying but he's still cool as fcuk! 😎
kommt sonst noch wer von Detektiv Conan?
I think there were 7 different songs in this video....
It's Oslo blue... not meissenblue
Do you have to own driving gloves to be on petrolicious?
I'm still waiting for Harley Davidson Episode! 🤣😂
On a serious topic. To help save Route 66 how about a episode of classic sports car tour?
Some people love the 365, some people love the 911, there is no right or wrong, everyone has their choice.
OK with you if I love 'em both? Caymans too. And all the race cars. Hate SUVs
At least he's got a Porsche tractor too.
Did anyone see the watch .. it appears to be a vintage Rolex Daytona!
The Rolex Daytona has its chronograph counters at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. Not a Rolex.
My uncle has a country place no one knows about...
This is not a Meissen Blue car!
Oh das Zeichen fehlt hinten xD
People with money.. bleh.

The bodywork looks suspiciously too perfect for a 356a... they supposed to have been handmade and show tiny imperfections.
Some people have to find fault with anything. Sure, now tell me it's just your honest opinion blah blah like you didn't post those words so as to be able to fall back on the "hey, just pointing it out" routine. Christ I hate it when people are disingenuous so save it. You could have posted "Body looks really good, I thought that they were handmade and never got that perfect" or similar. But you didn't. And your reply will ask me to accept that you're ignorant AND knowledgeable at the same time. Fucking hell.
The whole point of those cars is that they were hand made AND PERFECT!
What did you expect hammertone bodywork?
It is very true that coachbuilders in decades past had among their number many master craftsmen who used an english wheel like Pavarotti could use his voice.
Not a stone chip or wear mark on anything. No rust on anything and the leather and bakerlite plastic hasn't dried out. Even the gauges are dust free.
Fraser, a repaint and rechrome does *not* prove or disprove the original condition of the car or the original quality of the coachwork. The original point was *the body is too good to be original* . That is different from *this car looks restored*. You and others might think it's the same, but it is not if you understand the first thing about the collector car hobby, a pastime I was active in for over 25 years. It seems an easy to grasp idea: present condition- good OR bad- does not define original condition.
Why is it that great video is ruined by crap music bellowing at excessive volume. Whether it's on TV or the net, it's bloody everywhere. 's funny but I don't hear it in real life. I hear engine sounds, tire squeal, whining passengers, raspy exhausts. But not bloody music!
And while I'm having a whine, will someone tell the NASCAR or IndyCar producers that noise compensating microphones exist and that they can balance the background noise so that live commentators are not screaming at the top over their voices to be heard. And where to they find these idiots that scream into the microphone at the motor cycle GPs? They sound like they should be covering WWF.
seiert der rum!
looks like an iron and drives like a beetle...sportscar ??? Come on....
Sorry to say, but this is by far the worst episode I've ever seen on this channel. This guy is either an actor and he can't stop talking as if he was acting, or he is just an actor, acting as if this was his own car. As a german speaker, I feel like watching some scripted reality show on television.
Not Miessen blue
"I feel so incredibly independent: Unplugged, no wi-fi, no network" - Perfectly said, Herr Wolff.
The best feeling in the world just the car and the road
Then he said "Nothing else matters..." Cue the Metallica music!
@@juanpablodelgadoguirola3758 If only that were true in the case of Porsche.....
To bad his text seems to be written.
So nice. A gem.
Looks like Aquamarine blue, Meissen blue is lighter than this
everyone wants a Porsche...356...911... boooooring ! It`s the Dentist Advertiser. Come on....
A Bug Eye Healy now and then would be nice.
loving the car but the music selection and cinematography is like it's made by someone else. there is no long cuts on design features only "cool top gear" camera flyovers. I doubt the director understand cars in this one. looks like a 90s car commercial trying to sell me something. very much the worst petrolicious vid sadly.
Everytime I watch a Petrolicious video, I fall in love with my car again. It's a 1989 Toyota Sprinter Trueno. Thank you Petrolicious.
Sorry to say that but this car is not Meissen Blue. I own myself a 356 Meissen Blue and the blue is much lighter than what I see in this video…
But this car is incredibly beautiful anyway 😊
Beautiful! But Aquamarine Blue solid 1957 color not Meissen
This car is definitely not Meissen Blue. It looks Aquamarine to me.
Meissen blue is a sky blue color, this car is probably Oslo blue.
How hard is to learn german, folks? I wanna learn german so badly now.
Ada yang kesini gara-gara Rifaat sungkar?
What's with all the foreigners???
Can we please get properly subtitled videos, the white text over light gray on CC's with a light background is a pain in the eyes to read.
You can tweak the subtitle settings to your liking, click on the gear icon -> Subtitles/CC -> Options.
I love the car!!! But the guy is the typical German heir who spends his money on toys and profits from the achievements of his ancestors. This time, it's a beautiful re-import toy from California, USA.
The film wouldn't be complete without some good old German jealousy. Awseome! Thanks!
