I thought it is my German point of view, that made me a little uncomfortable about Magnus not letting this interesting man answering his questions. I think Marc is really a great guy and it’s a dream come true what he does with his old 356. He drives it like it was supposed to be driven. A 356 was always a dream car for me. Wish I could’ve picked one up when they were $8500. I scratched that itch with a 911sc, and love putting miles on it….but I still dream of adding the 356. Glad Magnus had Mark on to share his.
I bought a used 356B Cabriolet for $ 2,650.00 in 1967. Still have it in 2024 and I have just as much fun driving it now, at 81 years old as I had at age 24.
A classic Porsche story, unlike a classic Ferrari story. God forbid a Ferrari driver should EVER drive from Florida to Nova Scotia! And over thirty states!? Hahahaaa! Never! Great story! Great episode!

A great story about having and driving and making life experiences in a car. Thanks Magnus and Mark for sharing. This video is why I love going to car shows and asking people about their stories and their cars. I have my Mom's 81 911 Targa, she bought as a lease in 85 with 71,000 miles on it. She took grand care of the car and It now has 240,000 plus. She drove it fast and it was her daily for many many years. She took driving lessons, took it to the track several times and would take it up to 110 and 120 regularly. I am happy to have it and make new memories in it remembering her.
Great car and owner and what a cool surroundings there in Florida. Mark is the man...I so admire his willingness to drive that tub so far! We all live vicariously though him.

Thanks to everyone involved with this channel. Magnus Walker I have admired you for several years. I have yet to own a Porsche but soon. I want an old 911. My son wants a 356. We are currently reconditioning my son’s 1973 Super Beetle. We have, like Mark done lots of dirty work while the pros showed us the way. By the end of Summer it should be good to go then on to some yet unidentified Porsche.
Really great. Need to watch this one a few times and just pick up all the little details. Would love to hear this guys stories about his road trips. He really could write a book about all those miles he put on it and the people he meet on the way. Loved the story about the repair in CA. I have seen various YT videos on the guy that fixed the car for him and what an honor it was to have him work on your car. Thank you for sharing this!

You have a glimpse, sharing his story/history should inspire us to get out and drive our Pcars more often. Mark consistently drives about 20K miles a year in his car. So few of our 356 community experience this, at this level - true smiles per miles ! These cars were designed to use at a daily level; drive that next trip, don't fly :)

I sold my old VW camper van to a guy who restored old cars and her took me for a spin in a MGA and it was gr8 fun. Btw he was also restoring a Porsche 356 and it was painted in Tremclad rust paint but it sounded glorious when he started it up for me ❤🥇

This is my favorite 356. I see it all over northeast fl. I’ve met Magnus briefly at Amelia but have yet to run into Mark. Hopefully I will someday just to hear more great stories about the car. So cool to see it on this series.

I totally agree. I love hearing stories of people that actually drive and enjoy there rides.Not afraid of road rash and high miles.I am not a fan of trailer queens that have had thousands of dollars spent on restoration and then afraid to use them.

Such a cool little Porsche, gets the shit driven out of it! Probably makes some people crazy, I'd do the same thing... I had a bus, and traveled with a long block under the back seat, just in case. They were cheap, and swapping the tin, and engine was quick. Funny how much they go for now. Love the podcast. PS the cars stance is great!
I always dreamed of a 356 of some variety. My entire life. I should have bought one when I had the chance. Hopefully one day. Until then Ill have to do with all the models I have on my desk. Love the patina on this car, suggests so much life, history and character. Makes me sigh...

Getting ready to buy a pile of rusty panels and parts that will be combined to be my first 356... This video confirms that I'm making the right decision. What a stunning example of a driver / survivor. I can only hope to drive through 3-4 engine rebuilds.
