  • The issues and concepts presented in this video with respect to imagery are not affiliated with The Chemical Brothers or with Anwar SuperStar. Rather, they are my own interpretation of the lyrics. Although some may disagree, I believe the central message of this song is calling for the global unification of people (regardless of race, ethnicity or nationality) to stand up against the corruptions of various governments and political systems on both national and international levels. I am sure, that some will definitely be of the opinion that this video is a gross misinterpretation the artist's intent. Others may think that I have characterized this video as a dedication to 'conspiracy theories' related to the new world order. However, regardless of whether people agree or disagree, the idea of the new world order has definitely become a globally recognised concept- to an extent where it can no longer be regarded as simply a 'theory'. It may be of interest to know that the UN has previously hinted on what may appear to be ' the united states of the world'; "The turn of the century is a unique and symbolically compelling moment for the 189 Member States of the United Nations to articulate and affirm an animating vision for the Organization in the new era."
There is a need for Americans and British citizens in particular, to realise that they have been forced into paying for wars- one of which has been argued to be illegal. The leaders of these countries went as far as saying that it was our 'duty' to support the war. The corporate media definitely supported this idea and they were very successful in painting a picture of how 'dangerous' countries like Iraq and Afghanistan are to our freedoms. Yet if this were true, how come it only took a matter of weeks to almost cleanse the country of any Iraqi political influence by over-throwing the government? The answer is because the war in Iraq was never about Saddam Husein. It was to do with oil, amongst other things which benefited the governments who supported the war. The idea that the Iraqi people are being 'liberated' or that Iraq has been given 'freedom' is a gross deception. The process of war has taken the lives of thousands of innocent people. The human cost has been much higher than expected. A survey revealed that the conflict death rate is equivalent to one every three minutes. This death rate includes American and British soldiers. There is no doubt that Saddam was responsible for hundreds of non-Islamic murderous acts. But is this war not a murderous act in itself?!? It's OUR money that they invested in this war. Moreover, the Iraqi people have no sound infrastructure, nor do they have any control of their country or over their own natural resource oil. The Iraqi people will never have control, simply because 'someone else' has a vision for Iraq. This is why I believe that freedom is merely an illusion and is being used as a propaganda tool as opposed to being a concept of democracy. The war has resulted in a complete disregard for where priorities lie in terms of funding in America and in the UK. The preventable devastation caused by Katrina in New Orleans or the lack of funding in education and healthcare are just some examples. The war has only further consolidated power. As illustrated by the video, the war is just one of the things we need to stand up against. There are other problems on national levels such as police brutality, the despicable framing of Mumia Abu Jamal. It sickens me that we are almost two generations away from the world's most horrific slavery trade, yet racism is still alive in so-called developed and educated nations.
Surely it is logical, for us to wake up and observe what is really happening? In the words of Anwar, there IS a war going on outside, not just in the Middle East, but in our own countries. Should we not refuse to be part of things which do not benefit humanity? This matter is vital to the survival and advancement of the world- which is why we need to stand up and unify. The answer is definitely not through violence or physical force. I think the illogicality of such measures is obvious. The strongest and most effective way to unify globally is through gaining knowledge. The more we learn and become a better educated people about what is going on 'out there', the more difficult it will be to delude us and steer us into wrong.
