I'm a bus driver. One evening I was sitting at a red light, and a guy in a 3 wheeler got up to the light with the song blasting and dancing away. I'm from the 60's, I grew up a huge to rock fan, rap is definitely not my thing, but this song is infectious.
It has the elements that make rap "special" so even though it was a black and brown created music, Everlast was able to capture the bragadoccia, the attitude, the things that made up NYC kids create and champion this music that they said was crap and only a trend.

I remember going to Grandma's in Minneapolis when this was new. It was legendary.
I was unalive for several years, but heard this song playing from the open window of a wedding limousine, which was passing by my urn, being moved outside to a waiting UHaul moving by truck. I reconstituted and danced like it was 1999! Everyone helping with the move, had a good time, and danced with me… (probably out of a mix of fear at dead person reassembled from dust, and the fact that this is just the best party song ever.)
