I started playing with Asuka. She seemed pretty defense oriented and simple enough to pick up. After messing around with some other characters, I felt like my initial choice was the best one for me, as a beginner to the series.
I am an ex-Tekken 3-5 player looking to get back into this genre in 2022😂 I know 90% of the moves from the entire Tekken 3-5 roster. Specialised in King and the Mishimas. We’ll see how that translates…
Started a few months ago, went gigas cos I'm bad at execution and I can't do movement...but mainly cos he's simple to use and the rest is best learnt being beat down
My first main was jin bcuz i wanted to learn the fundamentals from the beginning and with jin u can't win if u don't know how to properly backdash, wavedash, block-punish.....ect, so that really heped me out
I love dragunov but really want to learn akuma, but i play with dpad and his inputs are so miserable there. Should I invest for one of those proper fighting boards or try learning him on dpad?
Hehe all the characters you mentioned are hard AF! You got guts that's for sure. They are also very cool. Keep playing and you'll get good no matter which character you chose.
I always try to go with an optimal beginner character...Katarina, Asuka, Shaheen. Tried all of 'em, who do I actually like to play? Xiaoyu and Kaz. It's not an easy journey for me.
Great help for a new player. If I could critique anything it’s while you’re talking and switching characters like a maniac on the character select screen, the audio is loud and distracting against your voice.
Just bought this a few minutes ago and thought id do some research while it downloads. Im intimidated by the skill ceiling but i play sekiro so that shouldn't be too tough right? RIGHT? im nervous.
@@momochiyoda2960 as I got better at the game I was able to play Kazuya how he's meant to be played using electrics, wavedashes etc. Steve is a really great character to start with because his jabs are really fast, and he has good punishes
Do you mean differences between regional versions of the game? Not that I'm aware of. Characters in Tekken typically speak their native language regardless of the regional localization. But there are variations in the skill level and playstyles of competetive scenes in different regions. For example, some friends who went to Evo Japan last year told me that Fujin rank in Japan is more like the higher Emperor rank here in the US.
As much as there seems to be a point in videos like these, in reality, there isn't one. I don't think anyone ever started a fighting game with X character because they are a good pick for begginers. I believe, every player ever, starts playing with a character because the character "looks cool" to them And in my opinion that's how it should be. A character you like will inspire you to keep playing and that will make you a better player. If you like Lee, don't go picking Shaheen instead cause you're a noob and Lee is hard and Shaheen is the easy version. Pick Lee and start with the easy stuff and make your way to the harder ones as you get better.
I don’t think that’s true, some people definitely do start off with “beginner characters” by choice. For example it’s not like Ryu is my favorite Street Fighter character, but I still chose to start with him to understand the basics.
@@koalawithchaingun53 maybe it's true for people who already play another fighting game and want to learn a new FG. Like, pick the beginner char to learn the game and then see. But IDK, personally, I'd still go with the characters that inspire me
Even with the stance he is pretty easy to pick up and play. He doesn't have a lot of execution issues and has a lot of good moves. Plus the stance can parry lows so that helps.
Lol no, not doomed you can learn the game w/ anyone. Most Lei players specialize in him, so expect to put a lot of time into learning Lei specific things.
Plays like a 2D character and you may not learn Tekken the right way. If you have a background with 2D fighters, she would be a good choice, but she plays very differently versus the rest of the cast.

Sounds like a good starting point. Good luck on your endeavors!
I started playing seriously in Revolution with Feng, but if I started with 7 I probably would’ve gone with Shaheen
Shaheen is super dull tho

Akuma's inputs aren't really any easier on arcade stick than they are on pad, that character just requires high execution and lots of practice.
Music is too loud, I need to stop mixing in the music live 🤦♂
I disagree, the music volume is fine 💝
I love the music, puts so many memories!!
As much as I hate Katarina I think she’s the best beginner character for newcomers.
I think her visual design is really bland. But yeah she’s super easy to learn.
Nah I’m going with Yoshimitsu
I like Bryan, Steve, hworang, and Lee. But something about Yoshimitsu’s wacky options call to me
Hehe all the characters you mentioned are hard AF! You got guts that's for sure. They are also very cool.

Kuma I would say is beginner character to. Except his combos are very hard to master.

How'd it go?
@@grilledcheesesandwich5572 kinda gave up. Pathetic I know but I'm not good at fighting games.
@@enterusername4650 u should've started with katarina or leo
Can you stop adhd flicking around characters. Very distracting!!
In my opinion easy characters include Lili, Asuka, Katarina, Negan, Noctis, Miguel, Dragunov and Paul.
+ akuma and geese bro don’t forget them
15:00 I feel so called out
Some of my best friends are Lucky Chloe enthusiasts 😆
I main Kazuya but when I started in 2017 I used Steve for a year

I play Kuma. He gets down 90% of the time and im Suzaki rank with him.

Is there a difference on tekken 7 on US or Asia region

Out of Bryan, Kazuya, Jin, Feng Wei, devil Jin and Paul who is the best beginner character these are the only characters I’m really interested in
Feng wei objectively but none of those characters are beginner friendly
@@calebdolin3676 why isnt paul? i am a beginner and play him but he seems very easy to me, what makes him harder?
@@Benutzer-mx4bi hes not exactly hard he just puts an emphasis on fundamentals
I would say Mishimas and Bryan are more difficult than the others
Paul is pretty beginner friendly, the only trap is you might over-rely on deathfist initially

is leroy good for learning tekken as a beginner?
He's pretty straightforward but he does rely a bit on utilizing his Hermit Stance and some new players are intimidated by using stances

Start with steve, lee or akuma
There is no such thing is "Best Character". Just pick any character and have fun.

Deathfist is ridiculously strong against players who don't know how to punish it properly

Well, Akuma was my first character too, so not completely lol
Good luck learning his FADC combos unless you played street fighter 4 for some time it will take a lot of time mastering it
