My buddy has these in his silverado, they are in a very shallow sealed box and compared to the pioneer shallow 12s, not much louder but thats why Im making a bigger box that will be ported for them, but so far in the sealed box, they barely beat the shallow pioneers

That really depends on the airspace that you have.

I want some subs for my truck too. I have a full-size single cab Dodge Ram, so not much space.. my buddy back in the day had a single cab Dodge Dakota and had two 10in square solo’s and a fosgate amp and that shit was impressive. Pretty sure they was the original square solo’s when they first came out.

@@EstevanBonilla the comp r’s are good subs. I had two 12’s before one of them decided to go out. So then I got some American bass xr 12’s and love them. But would definitely buy some kickers again

Thanks, How do I test for a good ground location, I've seen taking 1 lead from dmm to negative battery post, and other lead to area where I want to ground my amp in vehicle
We highly recommend grounding your amplifier to the vehicle's chassis. To get to the chassis you'll have to take the back of the vehicle apart, take out the panels, seats, everything.

Looking to get the L7T 8” 2 ohm sub (46TL7T82) and not sure whether or not to go with the Kicker 46CXA8001 (800w @1 ohm) or the 46CXA 4001 (400w @1 ohm). I know the rms for the 8001 is around 500w at 2 ohms and the sub is 350w rms so I’m not sure if the sub will be able to handle the power. Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!
Thanks for providing all the relevant information Michael! So that is a DVC 2 ohm subwoofer with an RMS of 350W, which means it can be wired to 1 ohm in parallel or 4 ohm in series. The 46CXA4001 amplifier won't work out since it is not stable at 1 ohm, nor does it have enough power @ 4 ohms to drive the woofer (only does 150W RMS).
The 46CXA8001 is a better option because at 4 ohms it does 300W RMS. Still a little under-powered though and also can't make a 1 ohm load, but will get the job done
I just picked up two of the 46L7T124 and wanted to wire them at 1 ohm. They do not sound good with my current amp (taramps 1800.1). What amp would you recommend and what do you think of the kicker kxa amp line?
Those are 600W RMS each, 1200W RMS combined. You'll want a monoblock amplifier with a power range of about 1100-1400W RMS @ 1 ohm. Check these out:

Is it better use a ported or a sealed box with this shallows subwoofers?
Depends on what you want from your audio. Ported enclosures play a wider range of low frequencies, whereas sealed enclosures play a small range of low frequencies. Ported also provide more bass, whereas sealed provide more accurate and clear bass. Ported is best for hip hop/edm/bass heavy music

Two DVC 2 ohm woofers will wire to 2 ohms in parallel. Those have a combined RMS of 1200W. You'll want a monoblock with power range of about 1100-1400W RMS @ 2 ohms. Check these:

What amp would you run with a single 8” for a thin truck box.?
Completely dependent on the specifications of the subwoofer. RMS power? DVC or SVC? 2 ohm or 4 ohm?

Well I think it would depend on your amplifier, and also how much power you want! The CVX is 50% more powerful than the CWR, plus it's $50 more.

I have friends with those value subs everyone keeps crying about. They sound like 💩. If it ain't CEA certified don't buy it. If it's not new don't buy it. If it comes from EBay, don't buy it. Stick to Beats by Dre until u can buy quality items instead of value meal subs.
