Thank you for this! I broke the clasp on a new necklace while fighting to get a charm on it. I searched for "how to make a necklace clasp out of paperclip" thinking someone must have figured out a good way to do it. This worked great. I only had needle nose pliers so mine does not look anywhere near as nice as yours, but it is perfectly serviceable and discreet. Thanks again!
Oh my, this is going to take some practice to teach my hands to have four fingers and only one thumb each, but I WILL do it! Thanks for showing me how.
How can I see the work you did with the leather cords you are speaking of? It sounds so intriguing to me & I would be fascinated to see what you have done!
I love your technique on wire making. Your genius, very impressive. I watch your video when i can and i stll not good on making earring hook / clasps. I'm stll learning im new. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I appreciated vry much.
That was a trip at the end I recognized you! I don’t know how many years I’ve been subbed to your comics account, but it’s an account I don’t use any more. Also this tutorial is awesome!
Thank you. It will depend on the acidity of your skin. Apparently when exposed to water the paperclips can darken. You can always use 20 gauge stainless steel (Artistic Wire by Beadalon makes some) or half hard silver, copper or brass wire. Good luck!
Personally from my experience of wearing paper clip rings, it never turned my finger green but you do have to be careful of not exposing it to the water or else the paper clip clasp might turn black. It has happened to me some times with my paper clip rings.
Holy cow...paperclips. Of course I never thought of that. Thanks for sharing. Inexpensive materials are always welcome.
Thanks Sharon. I'm having such fun with the paperclips.

can you solder the hook so itll be more secure?
I don't think you can solder paperclips, but the wire is very stiff and strong.
