    How fun! Glitter tip: I paint a salt/pepper shaker & store glitters in them. A dab of clear fingernail polish and sprinkle of glitter on the outside makes it easy to identify. A drill or icepick can increase hole size or use different container. Clear jars are great for odd bobs & bits & a recycled spice rack holds it all neatly out of the way! Happy Crafting!!

      Think about it CDs are very hardened plastic and will shatter all over the place if you try cutting one so by boiling them first it's softing them making them pliable and easy to cut

    What everybody wants to know is the purpose of the boiling process. Is it to soften to make easier cutting or sterilise the discs before making your creations. I like the outcone from your efforts 😊

    • @chlorone
      @chlorone Рік тому +19

      on first look i would say boiling seems to get the printing off (the floating debris?) and also seems to soften the disc for cutting so they dont break

    • @greengrendel
      @greengrendel 10 місяців тому +7

      @@chlorone Tried this, didn't work, even boiling again for longer. if the printing comes off, so does the foil layer, and it barely comes off.

      Obviously to make it softer to be able to cut with scissors

    • @ekim1451
      @ekim1451 9 місяців тому +3

      @@christined4842 the water would have to be boiling to soften these discs and they would cool when removed from the water making it impossible to cut with scissors. They wont retain their heat once out of water. Have you tried breaking or snapping a CD they are tough. The fact they are thin and flat helps the heat disperse. All hot or boiling water would do is buckle their shape and make the foil layer come off the disc so I think its less complicated. The only way you could cut these discs is with a hacksaw or a pair of Garden secatuers

      You do realize they (ON PURPOSE) mislead the titles so people will watch. Unfortunately UA-cam pays these people money now. So they all seem to beg for people to subscribe and like. THEN they started begging people to 'watch until the end' for MORE exciting info' (because that got them more money). NOW UA-cam changed the algorithm for their $$ calculation to include comments. So now they are begging to like comment and subscribe. Some are trying to be slick about the commenting by asking the audience a question. "Tell me what you would do different in the comments below". (Then they never respond to any comments). It's getting kinda pitiful

PS people if you make something that could be reached by young hands or toddlers make sure you sand the edges of the Disk shapes to make sure they aren't sharp enough to cut little fingers. Also hey hey hey who says you can't cut out other simple shapes like dogs, dino's cats, monkey's how about a sloth or bunny etc. Glitter or color changing powders too.
