I've never taken so much notice of the "weeds" I can't bring myself to pull 'em out after watching your videos, BTW ,love that last shot of the view ,so beautiful.
Dear Terri.....what a beautiful walk, you are so right.we must always look what mother earth is bringing to us...Have a wonderful Easter...............Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
Thank You for sharing. I love Green it's my favorite color. It brings joy to my heart. Your green sweater and dress go's so well with spring. Have a fantastic day
Thank you so much for taking us along on your stroll through your local countryside. I so very much enjoy this time of the year, with new life energy bursting out everywhere.
Communing with the relations in the environment helps us to retrieve our ancestral wisdom. Not only is it necessary, it is joyful and wonderous. Thank you for your work!
You are so right, nature is our grounding force - the happy place to reset the jangled worries that we keep being bombarded with. It's a pity more people don't see that. Just come in for a cuppa! Lots to do in the veg plot, popped some water in a tub but all the little spiders that appeared from nowhere! I spotted the big brown orb easily, but tiny green ones (not orbs!) all needed to be rescued before dunking the shallots ready for planting! Such pretty lime green too! Cheers and happy Casca. Sorry - the accents don't seem to work on this keyboard!
A lovely walk with you and the dogs Terri. I never knew what Plantain was until you identified it for me 😃 it's a wonderful time of the year when nature is just bursting forth. Really enjoyed the music too x x Happy Easter 🐣
Hi Terri - It’s always such a joy when you do a video. Lol’s music is always so beautiful. I’m learning so much about “weeds” natures medicine from you. Wishing y’all a very Happy Easter. See ya next time. Hugs to the dogs! Love them. So adorable. 💕☀️🪴
I'm sitting doing my knitting, after an afternoon gardening with my dogs beside me. Terri, your lovely, joyful video is the perfect end to my day. Thank you. xx

Lovely footage of your beautiful part of Ireland. Reminds me a little of the Yorkshire dales, around Malham. As you were taking , years ago I studied, Home at Grasmere…Dorothy Wordsworth’s diaries and the poets of that time 1800… how they were lamenting the industrialisation and the focus away from nature..🌞💐
Good morning Terri. Thank you for sharing this beautiful walk. It was wonderful to include this as part of Easter morning here. After a couple days of rain and clouds this sun is shining this morning and the sky is a soft blue. 🕊
Went out to gather daisy flowers and plantain yesterday to dry. Will add heal all when it comes through to make a summer salve for my horses. Great for horse fly bites. They are also enjoying munching the spring nettles, cow parsley, dandelions and cleavers, a natural wormer.
So lovely, thank you for taking us with you on your walk. I was just out in the garden for a couple hours and came in to watch this video, a lovely compliment to my day.

You bring another smile to my face with your excitement over the dandelions, how many hours in the past have I spent digging them out of the lawn. Lovely stroll but the weather was rolling in toward the end, and Lol that scenic view at the end of the video stunning. Happy Easter to you both.
So enjoy your walks. I learn so many names of things I've always seen as a child playing in our yard. I just didn't know their names. But, thanks to you now I do!

I love the diversity, Terry and yes~ it’s a great question~what is the purpose of the varying shapes of leaves? I think it’s for the birds and insects to identify their favorite pollen. And some for protection against being eaten. What do you think? Lovely walk in the mist~thank you for sharing ✨🌱✨

Hi Terri, I love all of the seasons, but I think spring is possibly the most enchanting, with that wonderful, vibrant shade of lush fresh green which only stays for a fairly short time. When out walking (which I often am) I observe each plant and tree as an individual with its own energy, and life force. Thanks for another great video Terri, many blessings to you.
Thanks again for another great video. I've finally got a first planting of peas into the ground as well as general garden clean-up now that the soil is workable. Digging around, preparing a few rows for planting, I've dug up a nice little bunch of dandelion greens and roots which I have dried and will use to make tea quite soon. I use dandelion root and burdock root most of the year as a decoction, both plants being so important for good health. I'm seeing so much growing now that the snow has disappeared. Like your place my garden grows lots of nettles and cleavers as well as other medicinal herbs that I allow to flourish, gathering those plants for my own use. I'm wondering what the pineapple weed's (you pointed out the plant in your video) Latin name is? I think I recognize the plant, seeing it in your video, but I have never thought of it as medicine. Knowing that plants can have a number of 'common'' names it is always good to see the Latin name for positive identification. I've read German Chamomile (I use chamomile all the time, both German Chamomile as well as Roman Chamomile, both plants having very similar medicinal applications) being referred to as Pineapple weed but I'm sure Matricaria recutita is not the pineapple weed you were showing us. Common names can be confusing. It is always exciting to be educated about plant medicine. Even after fifty years of studying plants and using plant medicine I continue to discover there is more to learn. Cheers to you for helping us out with plant knowledge! I'm one of those fortunate people that has not only nature but real wilderness right outside my door, so my life revolves around nature in a big way. My deer friends show up regularly right now, sometimes several times a day. I'm expecting black bears to show up any day too. It looks like you are well on your way with the growing season now. I wish you a wonderful and happy season!
You are right Kestrel - it wasn't Pineapple Weed it is Groundsel. I did not look carefully as I hadn't expected to see it at all. Do the bears keep their distance from you or can it be dangerous when the mothers have their young cubs? We are not wild here, only denuded so I think you are very fortunate to have real wilderness. Blessings to you too.
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Thanks for your kind reply. Thank you also for clarifying the the plant you were indicating is Groundsel (Senecio spp. - I'm guessing you were showing us Senecio vulgaris, common name, Common Groundsel). There are several species of Groundsel growing here in this part of the world, from northern Canada down to the southern western States). A couple other common names for Groundsel (spp) are Ragwort and Life Root. Life Root (Senecio aureas) is listed in 'Bartram's Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine' as being a tonic for the womb, emmenagogue, astringent and mild expectorant. Uses for Life Root are for hot flashes accompanying menopause with nervous instability, Absent, painful or profuse menstruation, ovarian pain, stone and gravel (kidney), diarrhea, bleeding from mucous membranes and prostatitis. Life Root (the dried root) is often combined with Motherwort to treat suppressed menses. I have seen Groundsel growing here in western Canada but I've never used the plant. Now I will remember the name Groundsel when I see it again. - - - Yes, bears. Of course we have to be vigilant and careful when it comes to mother bears with cubs. I've walked by mother black bears, at night and in the dark (with my dog and us two only hearing a 'woof' then cubs scrambling up a tree with mother staying on the ground) but fortunately without incident. I've had Grizzly bears in my yard (and in this village) at times and we get black bears all the time. I've had black bears on my porch, bears trying to wrestle my old milk fridge (when I was a goat shepherd selling goat milk in the village) off the porch but I always caught them in the act and managed to gently but firmly convince them to stop what they were doing until they left (hesitantly at times) and within arms reach (although I was on one side of the rickety screen door with the bear being right on the other side. I've had black bears sniffing around my tent at night (out camping) so close that I could hear them breathing as well as their sharp claws scraping around on the ground (that is a bit unnerving). One of my old friends (when I was living in the Yukon years ago) was sleeping under a caribou hide and he woke up with a black bear licking his face. He was a bit startled as was the bear. When my friend let out a yell, the bear ran off. At times bears have broken into peoples places here and caused havoc and wreckage inside their places. Bears can be dangerous and destructive but we have quite a few living in this mountain valley, so in our village at least, we try to get along with the animals respecting their right to be here as wild animals. I've seen about twenty grizzly bears (fairly close) in my life (hundreds and hundreds of black bears) and those large Grizzly bears are always a thrill to see. We have cougars here too and I am a bit more wary of those large cats as they are carnivores (unlike bears that are omnivores) so cougars always hunt for their food. I've been tracked by mountain lions when I've been up in the forest (that is unnerving) over the years. Often cougars are hunting in family groups, so maybe three cats together, and that is even more dangerous. I'm glad we don't have tigers wandering around the forests here. Grizzlies with cubs are very dangerous if they feel threatened. When Grizzly cubs are around two years old (still with their mothers) that group can be deadly as the cubs may weigh several hundred pounds by the time they are youngsters and the cubs follow alongside their mothers when charging an intruder. When I was visiting Australia, back in 2007, I was more concerned about poisonous snakes (we don't have poisonous snakes in this valley thank goodness) as compared to my concern about bears or cougars. Everything in context though, so respect is vital when it comes to living with wildlife, be it dangerous wildlife or simply rascally critters that dig in the garden and eat those things we humans want for ourselves. Thanks again for your reply. By the way, my birth name is Richard. Cheers!
@@kestrelfeather Hi Richard - I was reading something about wolves and it was suggested in the article, that a recent killing of a tourist out cycling had occurred because he smelled like prey, having lived on processed food. That generally wolves do not willingly prey on humans, unless they were absolutely desperate, because they know that we are dangerous. Do you think that is likely? I imagine cats are more dangerous than wolves. Glad to hear that your neighbours are all happy to respect the fact that bears and other wild animals have a right to their space too. That is heartening.
Thanks Wanda. Well you know the old saying, they can take the kid out of Nature but they can't take Nature out of the kid! I'm paraphrasing but you know what I mean😀
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! I managed to name most of the leaves here. I love to wander up our driveway and see the new leaves pop up especially as we are going into the dark of the year , makes me appreciate each one . I found a Fairy circle across the Road at our Neighbours place on there verge...had to run back home and grab my camera to Capture the Bauty of the Argaric Mushrooms ...made sure not to step in the Middle of the Circle though hahahha . Today I am venturing out with My Darling ( to pick up a wee free Table and frame to upcycle) I thought I would go with Him , so I can see what is Flowering at the moment and have a look up at the Sky ...may have to stop off in the larger park to have a swing and pick a few Autumnal leaves for the Altar ...Blessings from New Zealand xx
Thanks Terri, so happy the green is popping out for you. Here today it is snowing like crazy, a good 3 to 4 inches so far. Any plants that were trying to peak out, like my chives and snow drops will be beaten down. Hugs
I embrace plantain and make salve with it thanks to you! All of the plants you have mentioned, we thankfully have here in the Scottish Highlands. Greetings to you!
Can’t wait till Lol puts out an instrumental CD, I’ll be first in queue to purchase, Teri I now look at my lawn and paddock in a complete different light,, the amount of what I thought were just annoying weed and what I can do with them ! Eye opener 💕
Thank you so much for a lovely and informative walk with you ,Great music today too ! Happy, healthy, blessed Easter to you Terri and your family. Another lovely video. Thank you for sharing your beautiful surroundings. It is a healthy video, because just by watching it, watching, enjoying those beautiful shades of green, just watching all that beautiful nature, you feel good, it just gives a tonic, energy, hope and joy. Yes, you are right, people live in a country side and when going for a walk, they are on the phone. That really annoys me. Disrespectful to this beautiful nature around us. All morning we’ve been picking dandelions and now are on trays to dry. Just having a nettle tea while writing this, after a salad with dandelion leaves. What a wonderful feeling. Have a lovely day Terri. Looking forward to your next video. ❤️
You're so right in that we need to observe more, appreciate and learn from those observations, and revel in this incredible natural world. Yet I will admit I am so very happy to have been funneled technologically towards your channel. I do believe we would be great friends, you and I xx
I am sure we would be.😀 We have a lot to be grateful for from the natural world and technology, when used as a helpful tool, can enhance our life. We just have to remember it is only a tool. Have a great week xxx
thank you so much for the inspiration you provide. i’m absolutely delighted to learn that you teach online workshops. i’m currently in a pretty intensive herbal course, but as soon as i have the coursework for this one down, i’ll definitely be signing up for one of your classes. your wisdom and your demeanor are so lovely.

This is lovely. Terry, could you please identify the pink flowers growing low along the ground? Also were those blackberries already forming on the canes? It's fascinating to see our similarities and out differences, from country to country.

Hiya Terri Thankyou for sharing the shades of green, not much spring here yet, would you believe it’s snowing! Oh may I ask for your advice on a remedy for ear infection I’m dealing with currently on antibiotics currently. Any thoughts would be appreciated . Blessings southern Ontario Canada 🐝
Mullein Oil is very good for ear aches but if you don't have it you could gently oil so finely crushed garlic in olive oil and put a drop or two into your ear, providing your ear drum hasn't burst. Get well soon xx
There are several books but not all will be edible. Zoe Devlin - Wild Flowers of Ireland and Niall Mac Coitir - Plants of Ireland - you could try those.
Yes there is a certain irony, but it is one thing using it as a tool and a communication device and quite something else when it becomes a surveillance tool.... xxx

Terrene - what an unusual and lovely version of my name. It wasn't actually Pineapple Weed, when I looked closer it was Groundsel, quite similar at a glance.
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Hi, Terri. First, thank you so much for all that you share. I have your books. My heritage is Scots-Irish some say going back to Columba in 520 in the Londonderry / Derry area. It is a dream to visit Ireland one day. Patricia Warnock is my name. I chose Terrene (Earth) Therapeutics (remedies) to represent myself as an herbalist. I think it is lovely also. Rita's book is called "Ardeche Immortelle - Flora of Edible Plants in July and August" by Rita van der Kant-Klomp and it is a beautiful book about the region in France but the plants grow all over the northern hemisphere.

I love your channel. You are so right, they want us separated in every way possible.
Enjoy your trip out and the swing in the park. How lucky to see a Fairy Circle! Wonderful🍄 xx
Spring is so pretty
Yes it is! x
Thanks Terri, so happy the green is popping out for you. Here today it is snowing like crazy, a good 3 to 4 inches so far. Any plants that were trying to peak out, like my chives and snow drops will be beaten down. Hugs
Oh no! Not more snow. Hope it warms up soon for you. xx
I will tell Lol and it will spur him on. Yes, our weeds are our medicine and our food. xx
Thanks Leebay, I can't wait to get stuck into it myself. Life is busy but I'll have to dive into recording soon.
Too true! My Hubby jokes by saying, "She doesn't want a lawn, she wants the WEEDS!" 😄
Thank you so much for a lovely and informative walk with you ,Great music today too !
Seeing the daisies made my day they are my favourite flower I always prefer wild flowers to those from the florist.I agree we all need to look around and immerse ourselves in nature away from the phones and tech
Love from still snowy ...Winnipeg Canada xo
I heard about the snow. Hope you get some warmer weather soon xx
You and Lol make such beautiful videos. Love the music in this one.
Thanks Tammy Sue. Lol will have a CD of music at the end of year we hope. xx
Thanks for a meditating and hopegiving video!
It looks great where you live..the warmth is coming now over here as well.. enjoy Eastertime🌞🐥
Happy Easter to you Gina - we are very happy to see all the buds on the trees and old friends reappearing. xx
Thank you so much Oana! Re the phones that annoys me too, I just think it is a shame for them. xx
Fantastic fun ad flowing with life thanks Terri 🍃🌿🍃
So glad you liked it Kelley!
Hello beautiful ♥️ Happy Easter 🐰
Many Happy Returns Dreama xx
So much life! I really enjoy seeing where you live and how much you treasure it!
Every day there is more green, it is a lovely time of year. x
Thank you for sharing the green! 🍃💚🍃
You are very welcome! xx
thank you so much for the inspiration you provide. i’m absolutely delighted to learn that you teach online workshops. i’m currently in a pretty intensive herbal course, but as soon as i have the coursework for this one down, i’ll definitely be signing up for one of your classes. your wisdom and your demeanor are so lovely.
Thank you so much Nichole! I look forward to "meeting" you in the future😀
A caterpillar!! I haven't seen one of those in years here in Wyoming. What a lovely green walk. Thank you.
I have seen butterflies already!
Green is my favorite color and Emerald is my favorite gem.☘
Me too!
Thank you for the walk Terri. So lovely. Many blessings!!!!
Thanks Brenda - glad you enjoyed it. Blessings to you too xx
✨I have to say I love the title of this video 😊😊😊this time of year is my most favorite in Ireland.
No wonder you love it 40! May is the best time for the greening I think, looking forward to seeing the trees green up and flower. xx
Kudos to your man for that shot at shot at 43-45 min shot of dogs in background. Beautiful
Thanks Tracy - I will let him know. xx
Thanks Tracy I must say I was pleased as punch with that one myself. Sometimes the dogs have an uncanny nack of appearing just in the right place at the right time.

Those walls are granite rocks - they could have been here for thousands of years or just the last couple of hundred. They were built by farmers. Happy and Healthy Blessings to you for Easter. xx
Ah thank you so much for your kind words Therese!
If you haven’t already read it, I think you might enjoy a book called “ Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer
I have it and I've read it. I love it. I think she has a new book out - must look into it. x
Thanks Terri Love to you xxx
You are welcome. Thanks for watching xxx
Spectacular content, photography, and music. I love coming here. Thank you!
Delighted to have you Elizabeth. Photography and music thanks to my husband, Lol xx
Thank you Terri for such relaxing, inspiring and lovely videos! Happy Mother Earth’s day from Spain💚
BLessings Pau, so glad you enjoyed it. xx
This is lovely. Terry, could you please identify the pink flowers growing low along the ground? Also were those blackberries already forming on the canes? It's fascinating to see our similarities and out differences, from country to country.
I think they were Daisies. Sometimes their white petals turn pink. My lovely aunt used to say it was their lipstick after going to the Flower Ball.😀
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden I love that! She must have seen the joy of the world through the eyes of a child.
Great to walk with you , thank you and I like your green jacket!!
You are welcome and glad you enjoyed the walk. JAcket is from a second hand shop but couldn't resist the colour.

@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Thankyou Terri, no the drum has not burst did in the past however and wow that pain was unbearable.
😍, is there a book of edible plants of Ireland
There are several books but not all will be edible. Zoe Devlin - Wild Flowers of Ireland and Niall Mac Coitir - Plants of Ireland - you could try those.
You taught me another plant. Cleaver.
Nettle I didn't know it was a protection herb. Good to know.
A very important plant for spring cleansing. x
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden fantastic.😏😉 You have a good afternoon.
Has Lol composed another piece? I haven’t heard that one before
Yes he has composed the music but I think he has used it before. A CD of his instrumental music coming soon.
The fun thing is that everyone that is speaking against technology is using it... and so are we to listen to it!
Yes there is a certain irony, but it is one thing using it as a tool and a communication device and quite something else when it becomes a surveillance tool.... xxx
They look just like their big brother, he's two they were of weight let's say a 🙏 for those who aren't so fortunate
'Green man'
Spring wont come, a need for strife
To struggle, to be freed from hard ground
The evening mists that creep and crawl
Shall drench me in dew and so I drown
I'm the green man
Sol in prime, sweet summertime
Cast shadows of doubt on my face
A midday sun, it's caustic hues
Refracting within the still lake
I'm the green man
Autumn in her flaming dress
Of orange, brown, gold fallen leaves
My mistress of the frigid night
I worship, pray to on my knees
I'm the green man
Winter's breath of filthy snow
Befrosted paths to the unknown
Have my lips become blue purple?
Life is coming to an end
So says me me Wiccan friend
Nature's turned full circle
I'm the green man
The green man

Beautiful! Did you write this or can you tell us where it is from?
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden it is a song by goth band Type o negative from their 'October rust' album
I see you have alot of geranium growing there as well. They're used here to treat burns and hemorrhoids.
We do - it is lovely when they are in flower.
This is the second time today I've been introduced to Pineapple Weed. Interesting!
Thank you. ~ Patricia
what is Rita's book called? 11:23
Rita's book is called "Ardeche Immortelle - Flora of Edible Plants in July and August" by Rita van der Kant-Klomp and it is a beautiful book about the region in France but the plants grow all over the northern hemisphere.
Sorry to say but what you identified as pineapple weed is ragwort…pineapple weed is not out yet…
It is definitely not Ragwor but I double checked and it is Groundsel.
Education of plants not offered in my path in life.
You could educate yourself!
