    That turned out great. I was skeptical at a couple points but you saw the vision.

      Thanks! I'm just glad the arm went on so well. I was extra worried that I would cut too much of it off and have no other options.

      Shoulda put in some lightning effects or similar to make him a BrainBoyz and gone for the trifecta.

      @@KaijuBiologistThat would have been great. I didn't have any pieces at the time, but I recently found some while making the grot tank that could fit that idea in the future.

    That came out great.. Love the idea of mixing 2 fandoms together to get a custom Kitbash..
    On that front.. anyone else now intrigued to see what The Incredible Hulk would look like as a custom Ork??

      @AnotherDayMiniatures  Місяць тому +3

      Thanks! The marvel miniatures have a surprisingly high level of quality to them, it was a blast making it. The hulk one has two models that both have me very tempted to give it a go sometime :D

    You can make really good stripes and belts with making tape , I think you should try it for backpacks next time !

      @user-xf2mg2ou9g Thanks for the tip, i'll have to test that out, just need to find where I left my roll of masking tape.

    Brilliant model to kitbash, I might have to grab some Marvel figures just to see what I can make with them.

      It's surprisingly fun and best part is that they work with plastic glue. They also have some nice sales from time to time. I found some models earlier at 30% off.

      Thanks! I was a bit worried that the final step of applying a bit of that desaturated orange might ruin it, but I'm glad it worked out 😄

    It's Ork McCoy!! Awesome job. Just started binging through some of your videos and had to stop to comment on this one. This conversion is pretty much perfect imo. GW needs more models like this instead of just piling on more details. THIS has character.

    Really liked your painting method with contrast paints.

  • @ChaseDaOrk3767
    @ChaseDaOrk3767 Місяць тому +5

    If you ever plan on painting rust, here's what I'd recommend doing:
    1. Basecoat something you want to be rusty with a dark brown, then stipple or drybrush on a more reddish brown/burnt sienna color, and finally stipple on a fiery orange (you could try experimenting with mixing the colors between steps to possibly make a gradient, if you want to)
    2. Basically the same as the first way, but you could try to water down some of the orange paint to create a wash consistency and apply the orange wash over the dark brown/reddish brown basecoat, once that's dry, you can drybrush some silver all over the piece while the dried orange rust wash is left in the recesses
    Hope that helps

    • @AnotherDayMiniatures
      @AnotherDayMiniatures  Місяць тому +3

      That's great advice, appreciated mate! I was really hoping that mixing the two would create almost a contrast rust effect, but I underestimated just how good the metal color range is. It entirely overpowered the matte orange. There were a few areas where the effect worked a tiny amount, and I think with a bit of experimentation, it could work.

      @AnotherDayMiniatures Here's an idea.Try to make korne Demon. From other Series. D&D DC
      Demons, Beast, and Monsters 👽 for example, using a Killer Croc model for a bloodthirster?

    • @AnotherDayMiniatures
      @AnotherDayMiniatures  Місяць тому +2

      I just use 90% isopropyl alcohol. It works instantly, and I've never had any issues with it. However, you do need to wear gloves and be in a well-ventilated area because the fumes are very powerful.

  • @gribblegreeble
    @gribblegreeble Місяць тому +1

    why do you use the thickest clippers? there are dozens that are smaller, more precise, and able to chop through big pieces of plastic...

  • @yup4477
    @yup4477 Місяць тому +2

    Looks awesome! When you use the flow improver do you dip it first or the paint?

    • @AnotherDayMiniatures
      @AnotherDayMiniatures  Місяць тому +2

      Cheers! Flow Improver first then Contrast. You only need to dip it once per color since a small amount is enough to keep the paint flowing better and dry a bit slower.

    The Ork anatomy is already "true scale." Since Orks don't follow human anatomy.

    • @AnotherDayMiniatures
      @AnotherDayMiniatures  Місяць тому +1

      True scale simply refers to the size of the model on the tabletop relative to what is said to be in the lore. Space marines for example are nearly twice the height of a guardsman but on the tabletop they can be only a head taller.
