Finding the right 'Nid parts to put together can be a real challenge because of their massively varying organic scale, but boy when you find the right parts to put together does it look good! This looks like a nightmare made flesh, and it fits right in with new Tyranid silhouettes and themes. Great job Pete!
I definitely love this look, Tyranids are definitely that good mix of Body Horror and Organic creatures. I'd love to see what a Tyranid Human looks like. Not a gene stealer but the Norn Queen's attempt at making more Human like units that adapt as they fight or something like that

Love the new Lictor! I've been wanting to "resurrect" the concept of an old Epic Tyranid: the Dactlyis, updating it in the spirit of the modern Haruspex and Exocrine. I'm going to aim to go away from the "slug biovore" look and go for a more displacer-beast type body profile (re-doing the fluff to be a light-vehicle chase-hunter that hurls EMP spore-mines and then smashes prey with its mantis-shrimp like throwing arms). I encourage more servants of the hive mind to brainstorm conversions and reimagining of classic bio-forms. EVOLVE!!!
12:51- I’m a little late but when you first put the mud stuff on the base I really didn’t think it was primed yet!?! I have something similar to make it look like dirt. But I put that on first then prime. And when the base is almost 100% done (besides the shadows and the model is done that’s when I put them together!!!
YES! Been waiting for a Custom Tyranid from my favorite custom kitbasher! Always love your work, and always love Tyranids! It always feels like Nids are a perfect target for kitbashing, but it also feels like you don't see as many Nid kitbashes as others. Which always seemed weird to me, as they probably have the strongest cohesive aesthetic, meaning that almost all the pieces can effectively be relatively modular, as any pieces from any Nids will probably look like it fits on any other Nid bits. I can understand the oddness of not being able to include non-Nid bits in it though, and can see why that would drive some people off. That said, the fact Nids evolve, change, and alter themselves to fit in with what they eat/consume/hunt, I do think there's a bit more potential for piece usage than it might seem at first glance.

This was a great video for coming up with ideas. I'm theming my 10th edition Tyranid army lists around the crusade my group did that finished 9th, and my Lictor evolving into something of a mix between a Neurolictor and one of the Assimilation bugs could be a very fun kitbash
i really like the color scheme, even if it isn't that grimdark. Combined with the snow i can imagine them surviving in waters underneath thick ice sheets, consuming fish and aquatic life until the ice melted enough for them to burst through and move on to the unfortunate inhabitants of whatever icy planet they've landed on.
Love how this looks! Only one tiny thing bothers me personally though, I feel like the weapon on the tail should face the other way? Similar to like a scorpion stinger.
You could probably use some of the parts from the possessed kits for kitbashes of smaller nids. I know that genestealer arms are a great option for possessed or a more mutated take on a champion/aspiring champion

love this model you have done a great job on it. the only thing i think i would change is the blue on the arms towards the sholders and across some patches of skin is a little too much and it makes the arms kind of blur into the carapace and makes it hard to pick out details on them maybe a wash or something like that to pull out the details im not sure.
Really nice. I like the colour but maybe the contrast of the armour could be pushed down into desaturated purple or there could be a 3rd colour as markings to darken things. But really nice though.
@PeteTheWargamer Have you ever used or done a review of Tamiya Epoxy Putty for sculpting? I very much appreciate your explanation of why you use a mixture of green stuff and milliput, but I have been wondering for a while if you've used the Tamiya putty for sculpting before, and I just missed it. I have heard from Squidmar and a few other hobbyists that it is far superior to other sculpting putties. Figured it might be an interesting topic for a comparison video if you haven't already given your opinion of the product. Anyway, cheers mate! Love the content. Great looking kitbash as always.

The lictor is looking awesome! Love this custom variant and I may do something similar when I'm ready to get back to my bugs. Taking some notes as I go and since I'm earlier than usual in getting to the video, I wanted to ask a couple questions if that's alright. When using contrast paint through your airbrush, did you feel the need to use any thinner or did the paint go through fine on its own? You used a mix of Apoth White and Flesh Tearers red for blood effects. I'm curious as to why the mix over something made for blood effects like 'Blood for the Blood God'? You explain the Tamiya/Black Legion mix at the end, but I was curious about the previous mix specifically. I do love the brighter look of the finished model, and actually feel they are one of few factions that are more intimidating with brighter colors, but would definitely adore seeing a more grimdark paint scheme. Thanks for doing your first Tyranid conversion, this rocks!
The armor panels could have used some sort of dark wash for the in between recess areas, because you did put in work but the final end result looks almost as if just blue contrast paint was slapped over top with not much care, especially since the blue fades into the white areas so that just makes it look like a beginner or a kid applied it haphazardly. A bit of darker in between (whether washes or paints) could have made it look more distinct and on purpose, a more modeled look. No offense.
Just wanted to pick your brain, where would you start to make Brother Titus without having him dissappear into an army? He has a lot of being hanging off of him and he ties down his sword with a chain but is there anything else to make him stand out?
Do you have a recommendation for putty sculpting tools? I've been using the blade of a modeling knife for green stuff work forever and that just feels limiting.

'Nids might take the crown as the most kitbashable faction in 40k, there's just so much possibility with them.
I'd probably say chaos marines are the most kitbashable, with nids and orks at a close second.

How does he use wraithbone in the airbrush. I have never seen it in airbrush form.
