Replacing both control arms took 4.5hrs. R upper: Remove electric box adjacent washer fluid fill (press tab and pull) and bend its bracket away. Use vise grips to hold bolt under fender. Manipulating hub allows lower strut bolt to thread. L upper: Remove wiper and the big square platform horn bracket X4 10mm (it’s worth it- then toss it). Bend tab attached to the horn and attach to a stud under hood strut. Cut away control arm nut shroud with oscillating saw. The rear control arm bolt barely removes between coil by pressing down (watch your brake line) Good luck. Thanks Demarcus!

I have a 2016 XJL and after its annual maintenance today, the mechanic explained that the upper shock mounts will need to be replaced and he recommended doing so at the next annual service. 58k miles, fyi. What is a reasonable cost for this work? Thanks much.

Because I could visibly see the strut mount bushing was crumbling.

I charged $600. I'm sure the dealership will be triple that amount.
