When they say heirloom quality they aren't joking. My dad's favorite hat was his Stetson that was passed to him from his father which got passed to me when my dad died. The hat's probably about 70 or 80 years old now and is in amazing shape. Considering I look like my dad's twin when I wear it I feel so proud when I wear it. It's bittersweet though, my dad's only been gone for a little over 2 years and I can tell it's hard for my mom to look at me when I have it on since I look so much like him. I wouldn't take $500K for that hat.
I also was given my dads Stetson. Only problem dad had a much larger head size than I do. I ended up giving it to my son. He wears it a lot. Glad to see it is still in great shape. Thanks for the memory.
i got my dads as well when he passed away, it dosent fit me, cause i am far fatter than my dad ever was. but me and my brother took it, his 1845 colt revolver, and his large coin buckles, and put them in a dispaly case on the wall. my dad was a cowboy..not sure why he still had his dads dads colt...thing still fired though..still in impressive shape.

Been wearing a Stetson for 25 years. Won't wear nothing else. Only had 2 felt hats in those 25 years, and I'm pretty hard on a hat. They LAST! Looking to buy my final hat now, the 100x style.
Kutlu Mızrak I got mine for a little over $1,000. I think because of the 10K gold El Presidente emblem buckle set it came with. I would have never thought I'd spend that much on one but this one is gonna be part of my wedding outfit. After that I'm only wearing it on special occasions. Eventually I'll pass it down to my son. That's the nice thing about quality fur. It'll last lifetimes. Provided I take good care of it, it should still look 100% when my kid is grown enough to wear it.

my great grandpa lived to be 100 years old and three days before he passed he gave me his Stetson and it looks like its brand new still to this day. He told me that Stetson was older than he was. I was so confused when I saw the boxes in the vid that they put the hats into because mine is soo old that the box is black and white. Well at least what's left of the box that is. The hat is now currently around 110 years old and it still looks new.

I have two, one for everyday/work and one for dressier occasions. I wouldn't know if the Bailey's and Resistols are any good, I've never worn anything but a Stetson. Though I've known others that wore those hats I don't know how they held up. Mine are pretty tough, the everyday hat has been through everything that the elements, nature and my carelessness can throw at it. People still look at it and say "nice hat" and I've had it for almost 20 years now ... Guess I'll stick with Stetson, don't see any point in experimenting after this long.
@@1neAdam12 Yeah, they're both now made by Hatco Inc. in Garland, Texas. The only real difference is style I suppose. For me wearing a Stetson hat is a matter of habit, I've never had one let me down so I don't see any reason to change. Considering how long they last I don't have any reason to buy a new one either. If you like your Resistol that's cool with me, I'm not a hat snob and really don't care one way or the other.
(picking names from a hat) Larry: I got Florabell. Florabell: Honey [crunching sound bear hug] Moe: I got Corabell. Corabell: Oh, darling! Curly: I got Stetson. Which one is she? - The Three Stooges (The Sitter Downers)
I have a number of Stetson hats accumulated over the years, but one of my absolute favorites is the Silverbelly shown several times in this video. My fascination with them began decades ago when I took my young family to the Grand Canyon, sporting a new Stetson. A storm came up, and the wind ripped my hat off my head, across the fence, and over the rim. I instinctively started after that hat, and then common sense took over when I glanced at my young daughter, and I had an epiphany - - I could get a NEW hat!!! I hope someone found that lost hat. Losing it sure hurt, lol! Great video!
My father still has my Grandfather's Stetson hat. My Grandfather was killed in a tractor accident in front of my 11 year old father in 1958. The only thing left that belonged to my Grandfather besides our farm is that Stetson and a Remington Model 6 falling block 22 rifle that has been used to teach the past 4 generations of our family to shoot with. My oldest son owns it now and I hope one day he will pass it to his grandchildren.
If I lived in America I would live in my cowboy boots and hats . love them . When I visit which I do about twice a year I never take them off . I wear my boots back home in England but I dont have the guts to wear my hats ! lol .
Always has been my Favorite brand of hat, The Stetson.. Nothing can come close, my opinion. Have a great day everyone... ♥️🤗🤠🤗♥️. Angie from eastern North Carolina, now living in Wilmington NC.
“Stetson hats are made to last a lifetime” that very quote is true, I own a hat that my grandfather wore all the time. He first got it when he was 15 and then he died with it when he was 51, it was in mint condition but aside from the bullet hole right above the rim, it’s a pretty hat
LOL. Yep. The Stetson holds up in the face of steam, vapor, H2O, water, ice, snow, sleet, hail, freezing rain, drizzle, deluges, storms, showers, mist, sprinkles, torrential downpours, dew, slush, airborne moisture, condensation, evaporation, sublimation and the tears of liberals.
Stetson " Gun Club" owner. I've had it 35 years still in great shape and no joke here in Oregon I see alot of rain. Not an issue for my Stetson. My son will get my hat some day. Not too soon I hope. Texan made like me!!! 😉
Just bought my very first Stetson and the quality is outstanding. I can see why it cost me half a mortgage payment. A lot of care and work go into these things!
Ezra Anantharaj Nathaniel They have several styles to go with the shape of the face. Call and ask for the R&D Research and Development. I know the girl who made the chart. But we don't work there anymore.. I think they have a chart at the outlet store next to the factory. They make felt and straw hats.. Good luck.
No my friend, there's got to be something that will suit you!! Go to a good Hatter, with a good selection, and try several crown styles and brim sizes! After it's properly steamed and fitted I'm sure you'll like what you see! Someone in the comments suggested a pinch front, that or somewhere in between a Gus and a Tom Mix crease might suit your fancy. I would stay away from a Gambler or Aussie crease, unless you're going there or New Zealand.
Got one in 1973. Got it reblocked and cleaned once but had to retire it after about 35 yrs due to cracking. It had been through a lot- wind, dirt, rain, snow. Knocked off by horses, and I even got knocked out from under it a couple a times. Still outlasted other hats.
i wear my grandfathers Stetson. It is one of my favorite hats. My dad is still alive and he has many more cowboy hats from his father in law that he will one day give me. My fathers dad died in WW2 when he was only 2 years old and his father in law (my granddad who he loved like his own dad) left him many hats and taught him how to cowboy and ranch. I grew up in the city but we had a ranch with Horses and cows thanks to my grandfather. I wanted to spend all my time cowboying and still do.

For me wearing a Stetson hat is a matter of habit, I've never had one let me down so I don't see any reason to change. Considering how long they last I don't have any reason to buy a new one either. If you like your Resistol that's cool with me, I'm not a hat snob and really don't care one way or the other.
What a fantastic process whoever worked that out was a genius
Brought to you by inventive European minds. Just like all modern technologies are driven by our collective spirit.

Wow interesting. I remember as a kid I’ve always seen these in stores.
I have one that is over 30 years old and still looks like new. Very well made!!
i love my STETSON
U ever have an issue with yours bleeding? Had an old coworker who swears his bleed, but mine hasnt
Amen
Got mine in Ft Worth. I was able to watch the man cut it and shape it right in front of me.
My favorite hat ever!
(picking names from a hat)
Larry: I got Florabell.
Florabell: Honey [crunching sound bear hug]
Moe: I got Corabell.
Corabell: Oh, darling!
Curly: I got Stetson. Which one is she?

I have a number of Stetson hats accumulated over the years, but one of my absolute favorites is the Silverbelly shown several times in this video. My fascination with them began decades ago when I took my young family to the Grand Canyon, sporting a new Stetson. A storm came up, and the wind ripped my hat off my head, across the fence, and over the rim. I instinctively started after that hat, and then common sense took over when I glanced at my young daughter, and I had an epiphany - - I could get a NEW hat!!! I hope someone found that lost hat. Losing it sure hurt, lol! Great video!
That was just beautiful! Thank you
Built to last!! We need a lot more of that everywhere in America 😂
King of hats.
I wear my boots back home in England but I dont have the guts to wear my hats ! lol .
People are just staring at me every time I put the hat on lol, so now I am wearing it if it is raining - still pretty often as we are in the UK :P
Always has been my Favorite brand of hat, The Stetson.. Nothing can come close, my opinion. Have a great day everyone... ♥️🤗🤠🤗♥️. Angie from eastern North Carolina, now living in Wilmington NC.
My fave brand too! Thanks for watching. AB in Toronto
5:57 Jesus Christ
Dang! How'd you catch that?
I prefer the 8 pound baby jesus.
SWEET BABY JESUS
He's everywhere.
That’s obviously Keanu Reeves
“Stetson hats are made to last a lifetime” that very quote is true, I own a hat that my grandfather wore all the time. He first got it when he was 15 and then he died with it when he was 51, it was in mint condition but aside from the bullet hole right above the rim, it’s a pretty hat
Water, rain, snow... kinda the same thing eh
Elias Salmi
Hahaha, yep. lol
LOL. Yep. The Stetson holds up in the face of steam, vapor, H2O, water, ice, snow, sleet, hail, freezing rain, drizzle, deluges, storms, showers, mist, sprinkles, torrential downpours, dew, slush, airborne moisture, condensation, evaporation, sublimation and the tears of liberals.
@@bvcxzgt5451 I like this comment until you added liberal in NZ everyone is liberal.
I have to say I love all 3 of my skyline. Thank you Stetson

I bought my Stetson when my daughter was 2. She’s 37 now. It was $45 then. The one I got would be around $800 - $1,000 now.
Browsing UA-cam for concept art tutorials and now I'm searching online for best deals on cowboy hats....
Bought a silver belly skyline last year and i love it.
I have a Stetsons 100x silver belly and it is Amazing! Every time I wear it I get nothing but compliments 😉👍
Was it expensive
@@thefreshprincer5587 yes arthur it was probably expensive
@@alexalaniz5176 2700$
Right on!
I want a Stetson
DrPsychedelic it is also a hat brand.
Thank you! Just received my Skyline 6X in Granite. Love this color and what an incredible looking hat.
Stetson " Gun Club" owner. I've had it 35 years still in great shape and no joke here in Oregon I see alot of rain. Not an issue for my Stetson. My son will get my hat some day. Not too soon I hope. Texan made like me!!! 😉
I have lived in Longview for years and never knew Stetsons were made there. Damn
i am from gearmany and buy my first Stetson two years a go. only a 4x but im proud about him. today i got my second Stetson for work
haha "pop stars"
Jaret Gandee have you heard these country stations..? It's pop.
Lol I mean they r pop stars
Well, they ain't country stars!
All post-1990 country is complete garbage.
All? Very broad (and wrong) opinion there. Theres still very good Texas country music even in 2018
I have three of them and they just break in really well and then take on a character all their own.
Who owns stetson now??
David Findley the owner I think
Good answer 😄
I so respect these artisans as they are making these hats!
Nice hats
300$ for the hats they made in the video😁
Jdogg Vasil with all that process I'm thankful they don't price them starting at 500$ like some BS Designer brand that ain't even worth the style
First name Last name will you only need one for life
Just bought my very first Stetson and the quality is outstanding. I can see why it cost me half a mortgage payment. A lot of care and work go into these things!
Cowboy on braces....classic....😁
I purchased a hat every Christmas for my Dad. He loved them. Handsome I must say.
Only issue I have with this hat is that my round Asian face does not suit the look. If only...
Ezra Anantharaj Nathaniel Nah bro who cares man , if you want a Stetson wear one man or get a style that you feel fits you
Ezra Anantharaj Nathaniel They have several styles to go with the shape of the face. Call and ask for the R&D Research and Development. I know the girl who made the chart. But we don't work there anymore.. I think they have a chart at the outlet store next to the factory. They make felt and straw hats.. Good luck.
Ezra Anantharaj Nathaniel you might try a pinch front crown, they tend to elongate the face
Ezra, I think a rice hat would look great on you.
My first cowboy hat was a Stetson, but as soon as I saw the George Strait Resistol Silver Belly I had to get one....
3:24 best Stetson employee
Got one in 1973. Got it reblocked and cleaned once but had to retire it after about 35 yrs due to cracking. It had been through a lot- wind, dirt, rain, snow. Knocked off by horses, and I even got knocked out from under it a couple a times. Still outlasted other hats.
3:58 My guy with his money on his chest
I have been wanting one of these and I think it is time to give in and buy one of these iconic hats for myself.
I was in a store in bandera Texas , saw a hat I liked it was $12,000
Diggy Ace maybe in pesos?
Diggy Ace so you brought it wow
What the he'll was it made of? Gold? Lol I bought a 100x with a 10k gold buckle and even then it was only a little over a thousand dollars.
Of course you liked it it was 12,000 dollars
Must be Antique.
i wear my grandfathers Stetson.
