I own an RS3 Pre Facelift and the 5 cyl sound is just such a beautiful symphony, I honestly will never get sick of it. it just sounds so unique and has such a wide and varied sound profile
also pre facelift owner here. 135.000km on it lol. recently put it on KW coilovers, tune that gives me 425 on 100octane vpower and @NewEnglandPete , the DQ500 tune definetly does help
@@fikratahmad so far very good. drivetrain itself is solid, the engine and gearbox can handle more than stock´without issue. above 550-600hp you should get the engine build (pistons/rods stc) and a clutch upgrade. other than that only bolt ons only big problem the previous owner had was a dmaged bearing in the awd transfer case. cost him arround 2000€. so the usual mqb stuff but as everything is mqb parts are easy and relatively cheap to come by. you will have to accept that carbon is gonna build op on these older engine intake valves as its direct injection only. can be midigated with a fuel injector kit of a WMI. i heard about timing chain lengthening when you get to 150.000km but rarely. if you give it good oil regulary, doesnt seem so be a problem.

Bro im telling you rn, unitronic stage 2 tcu and ecu tune. Your car will change completely. All the quirks you mentioned about the transmission will make it so as if you're driving with the r8 transmission. The tune will fix those issues.
@@cmm9360 uni cap the torque for engines with stock intervals so it’s all G. E85 is next level with these engines but if you are worried and have the flex tune run it at E50 and you will get most of the benefit.

@ the ticking noise from the roof, I’ve had an 8V generation S3 (and an A3 before that) with the same issue. If I recall correctly, it might have been the sunroof frame. I believe the dealership added some lubricant to it when I brought it in which I think fixed the issue. There may be a TSB for it. Not sure if your noise is the same, but hope that helps. I have an 8Y RS3 now and love it. The engine is so addicting. Love to see another New England RS3
I’m not a fan of the sport cockpit view either but found in classic cockpit view I press the view button on steering wheel and can see the oil temp then when rev counter and Speedo goes small. Would be good if classic could show it always though like sport cockpit.

I got my B9 S4 on a stage 1 034 93 tune plus the x pipe + front res deletes done. Sounds better than stock but still doesn't match a rs3 5 banger. I have a RS style start-up enabled but nothing like the real thing.
I used to do this on the dc5 integra type s just gear 1 alone disturbs the neighbors peace 🤣🤣🤣 this one fits the bill... I must get myself one of this 😛
I literally have the same ticking of the sunroof, sounds like a stuck leaf as well. Sunroofs on the 8V are funky anyways, usually its like a creak sound, but that ticking is strange, havent found the issue yet. If you do, let ne know what the issue was lol. Sounds brutal, I just love this car.

I have worked with iE on these last two car builds, however, I am still very open about my opinions with sponsored and unsponsored content. This is by far the highest quality exhaust system I have ever installed & ran on a car. This is coming from Borla and even my Remus system on the Golf R. I’ve had my 2020 for 2 years now. Bone stock 9k miles. Came from a mk7 GTI and I feel just about the same way you do switching to the DAZA. Around town gear shifts at lower RPM I preferred the gti DSG. Feels more aggressive around town lower rpms but the audi just completely changes the shift characteristic when under boost/moderate acceleration. It took me the longest to get used to less torque down low but the top end is incredible. Would like to compare to the golf R 7 speed.
Same car, the ticking sound in the sunroof is the rivets, there was a post i had seen a little while ago that goes over every single possible sound that the sunroof makes, ill try and find it for you, maybe youcan make a video about how to adjust the sunroof based on that forum post to clear the sound.
Audi just announced the RS3 is coming back to Canada for next year, so hopefully the 8v prices will come down and i'll be able to get my greedy hands on one 🤣 How many miles were on yours when you got it? and what did you pay if you don't mind saying? Loved the video man!

When you had the stock exhaust, did you ever have a very deep low drone but not much rasp? I put on mid pipes recently and am still getting this weird low drone sound with minimal iconic 5 cylinder rasp/tone. Thought it may be a clogged cat but the cat EGTs never go above 600c. Curious if stock just sounds like that.
Would you still choose IE over Milltek and Armytrix? Can't wait to get my RS3 and im not quite sure what exhaust to buy. WIll definitely buy the Non-OPF RS3 though

I wonder if the 21 A4 S line is a good contender for mods. I got one used recently it has extended warranty until 85k I’m unsure what to do with it I hear Massachusetts has strict exhaust laws but idk. I also wonder if the “DPAA” EA888 evo4 will be reliable over time, apparently it’s the most reliable version of the engine and it’s pulled from the golf R just detuned Apparently the B9.5 generation of A4 has the evo 4 engine which doesn’t have the problems the older gen3 in the b8.5 had
17-18 rs3 screen goes down. 19+ or 20+ not sure when it started screen stays up. “Safety” feature Audi was forced to add. Screen going up and down was distracting apparently and forced to change.
@@Rs3Louie Yes, I found out that apparently at some point in 2018 there was a new rule saying the backup camera should be visible within 2 seconds of going in reverse and I guess the screen doesn’t pop up that fast so they make it stay up. Bummer.

I have a golf r with a pan roof and some krytox fluid is the best investment I made, no clicking/creaking now, a small amount lasts a year plus too

In case u still dont know. That ticking u hear from the sunroof is probably the roller for the sunroof cover. Common weakness on a3 8v.

Golf GTI has 350nm of torque at 1500rpm and rs3 465 at 1650rpm so not sure how you figure the rs3 is missing low down torque over gti?
