      + Tammy Buck - You should try Mario Badescu products. I don't work for them & I sure am not making money to promote them. I am a retired nurse who was, like you, always looking for the perfect beauty products.
      I came across them about 10 years ago when I was reading a magazine at my doctors office & read about their free samples & the "movie stars" that were customers. I didn't know of any company that gives free samples before you buy their products, but MB did & still does. I didn't intend on their products working so well, but they were & to my surprise they were not expensive. Most of their products only require a small amount, so they last longer. Well, all except for body lotion & that's why I buy the largest size. I also won't buy a large size mask product or buy more than 1, because they can dry out before you can use it all. If I want to try several, then I'll choose a mask for a sample.
      If you want to try their free samples all you have to do is go to their website (I'll put below) & click on skin analysis. I am a customer, so I sign in with my MB account. For people just wanting to try samples based on what products would work for you based on the skin analysis questionnaire, you can sign in with either Google or Facebook.
      I also like to tel people that if you decide to purchase their products, you are automatically give 3 samples of your choice to try before you buy. They also have sales several times a year where you receive even more samples & discounts. Recently, I ran out of my body lotion, so I went to order some of that & a few of my other favorite products & I was given 6 samples & a small bag to keep samples in. They used to give samples in little plastic bottles or round containers, but now they downsized & they really do give smaller samples. But, still enough to try to see if they work for you or not.

    Love it ... All this info so good. One note about the term “non-comedogenic”, it’s an unregulated term. Modern biology allows for ingredients, which might have been rated comedogenic in the past, to be structured and formulated better now. So where some things are clearly comedogenic, like clays and thick makeup foundations.... in order to know what skincare is comedogenic will be trial and error or using a trusted formulator depending on your skin type :)

    • @asiginaakmiigwaan9200
      @asiginaakmiigwaan9200 5 років тому +1

      I hate how unregulated the terms that beauty companies use are. I think for an "organic" label to be used, it only needs to be 30% organic ingredients? Not sure. But that sure opened my eyes and led me to research a lot more than I used to

    salicylic acid gel,
    glycolic acid
    retinol - differin gel
    -
    😕 Any tips for sensitive + dry skin?
    I don't even feel sure of how to take care of such skin type.
    Especially because I have perimenstrual acne upon it (they get so bad throughout my cycles).
    And overall these tiny clogged pores & other large pores of an open acne. Apparently tiny clogged pores is due to comedogenic products & not enough omega 3's - am more on top of that.
    For large pores, it seems to be my increased oil production throughout my menstrual cycles.

      Tumeric alone or rubbing a half a lemon on your armpits will get rid of discoloration and smell. Try some DIYs but be careful of too much lemon, it can make your skin darker by drying it out.

    • @sandramorcos9090
      @sandramorcos9090 7 років тому +4

      cheinei I am extremely sensitive to lemon. It always irritates my underarm. I heard baking soda is good. I also tried honey with charcoal but it didn't do much.

    • @cheinei
      @cheinei 7 років тому +1

      You could try a differnt citris fruit. A lime? Baking soda is also an irritant. I feel like its a waste. Its only good for an extreme exfoliate. The tumeric alone will work then. Try the frest root and grate it or mash it into a paste or use powder form with water. Potato slices help lighten skin too but takes longer. If you get desperate, try an over the counter skin bleaching agent. anything with Hydroquinone . Maybe a hydroquione soap? Or a cream that helps old scars. Hope this helps.

    I'm glad I found your channel. I think for me the only way to get rid of my acne scars and large pores is a chemical peel or laser resurfacing. I also have awful bags under my eyes which is hereditary and I swear I've had them since I was 20yrs old. and they've only gotten worse and they definitely age a person. Would a chemical peel or laser resurfacing help get rid of that, or is it the old fashion way when woman say I'm getting my eyes done, meaning there literally having a plastic cosmetic procedure to make an incision under the eye and pulling the skin tight? Any feedback from you or recommendation on one of your videos to watch would be greatly appreciated. I have to say your skin looks gorgeous, I don't think you were wearing any makeup either. If I could go about my day with not having to wear makeup where ever I go that would be a dream come true.

    Thank you for doing this video. This is the one I have been waiting for. I have enlarged pores (primarily on the nose) but otherwise dry(ish) skin, so dealing with this has been a challenge for me. I have found that using the BP 10% as a mask a couple of times a week for about 15 minutes, plus using a 2% salicylic acid gel daily, has worked wonders over the past few weeks - since watching your videos, so thanks!
    Two questions -
    1) I have a 10% glycol acid cream which I use as an exfoliant on my face a couple of times a week. What % is generally used for a peel? And how long does one leave it on?
    2) You recommended that folks with enlarged pores stay away from oil-based cleansers (and makeup, etc.). How do you feel about the "Oil Cleansing Method" which uses oils to dissolve and coax the gunk out of pores. The theory being that oils dissolve oils. I have used it and found it helpful, but don't like the oily mess. I have even added some Polysorbate 80 (as an emulsifier) to the mix to help the washability of the cleaner. This helps a lot with removing the product from the skin. But I would be interested in your views on it.

      Slightly late reply, but this could help others. For section 2, she's said and shown in other videos how to use oil to clean off makeup, and it's totally fine for oily skin, because you're cleaning it off right after anyway (with warm water) rather than keeping it on. I recommend people look up the double cleanse method on her channel to do this properly. More recently she uses the fragrance-free Nivea cold cream though (and double cleanse).
      Yea straight up oils having no emulsifier is not super fun.
      I dunno if she's talked about this, since it's makeup, but if you have oily skin, you want to avoid oil and wax makeup products, mainly because you're already oily enough, and oil production is what kills makeup. You generally want silicone stuff instead if there needs to be an oil-replacement.

      @@Siberius-that helps a lot
      I also have a question
      1- Why hot and humid weather doesn't suck skin's natural oils whereas taking Hot showers does!?
      2- are emulsfying wax or silicone bad for the skin in long run?
      2-

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- Рік тому

      @@John_232 - I ain't no scientist, but it's like how we use hot water to get oil off of cookware.
      Gotta get that moisturiser on after a shower.
      Makeup in generally isn't like, the best for skin... but as long as one is properly double-cleansing, it's generally fine.
      Silicone isn't inherently bad for the skin or anything, it's completely fine. People use it on wounds and scars to make the skin heal back a lot better than it otherwise would have. Dermascar and stuff is just 100% silicone (don't buy anything that has anything else in it, since it's the silicone that does the work here).

    • @John_232
      @John_232 Рік тому

      @@Siberius- what about silicon in moisturizer

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- Рік тому

      @@John_232 - Can have silicone in anything. I personally only buy moisturiser than has silicone in it. "Dimethicone" and stuff.
      It replaces oil, I don't want oil for my skin type. It's great for light moisturisers that don't stay on your face in a way that you can feel. Far more pleasant for me.

    I have really dry skin and large pores.Mine are hereditary. I do wash my face,moisturize and I'm a little lazy with my vitamin C serum but I'll do better. I am looking for a good OTC toner could you help? Can I use the Differn or should I stick to nicinamide serum. I do tca peels 8 to twelve weeks apart and my pores look great for about a month and then they start looking larger.I want to keep them clean. What do you recommend I try?

      I don't recommend toners. Adapalene is a FDA approved for acne. It is regulated and must show efficacy and safety, whereas cosmetic vitamin c serums/toners/etc are not

    I've noticed when I use "anti-aging" creams, my skin stings when I sweat. I'd love to try differin for my enlarged pores but with summer coming (and living in the desert) there's potential for lots of sweating and I'm afraid to try it. I wouldn't say I have sensitive skin but is it possible it's too sensitive for these types of products?

    Dr Dray I know this maybe weired, but I'm a male to female transgender and I'm always looking for ways to make my outside match my inside. My face is a big source of dysphoria for me. I was woundering if you had any advice on making my skin look more feminine. Any help would be much appreciated.

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +7

      Not weird at all. Male to female (MTF) skin tips/thing to know: most skin changes (like decrease in coarsness of facial hair and facial oil production) have been noted to begin approximately 4 months into treatment with estrogen-based therapies. Also it is important to know that there is a body of research that suggests that patients undergoing treatment with hormone replacement therapy for MTF may be at a slightly higher risk of developing skin cancers, including melanoma. So it is recommended that you have a complete skin check screening once a year. A dermatologist can also help manage some of your skin changes and concerns. Hope this helps and that you are having a great day!

      I'm not going on HRT. I know that's not normal for transgendered. But my wife is scared of the side effects and cancer. So she won't let me. So out side of HRT any advice. I know it's going to be hard to get the look I want with out HRT. But I love and trust my wife.

      Sorry to butt in, just wanted to mention that other MTF I follow on UA-cam say that having a ritual skin care routine is very important. Eating healthy, staying away from foods that affect your testosterone levels is helpful as well. I will find a UA-camr and link them here for you to follow them and see their journey.
      A lot of MTF people I know also use make up to advantage of that’s something you are interested in.

Not to mention horrendous hereditary dark circles I've had since a small child :/

    why i have large pores is because of age and damaged: clogged pores increasing oil production. so..
    1. no bar soaps
    2. wash make up before bed
    3. don’t scrub too hard
    how to solve: use
    1. salicylic acid leave on face over night
    2. chemical peal (glycolic acid)
    3. retinoids cream

    I have salicylic acid that I use for parts of my face that are flaky since it is effective in preventing flakes in my experience. I never tried using it in parts that have visible pores since it feels "acidic" on my face. It feels uncomfortable to apply with its stingy sensation but there is no visible redness or allergy which is good. I'll give this a go. Thanks for the tip!.
