Thanks for being nice to me :) - Фільми й анімація
if anyone thinks dw should be pure hard sci-fi, they should listen to Hartnell: "Dr Who is not a scientist, he is a wizard"
Doctor Who can be both hard sci fi and silliness. That's the good thing about it.
@Liz-79 Jokes have to be funny you’re not funny get a job
He didn’t list John hurt as someone he could beat in a fight, showing that even in death man can still kick ass.
He’s the WAR doctor!! I wouldn’t put it past him
@@JoshSnares He could also suddenly turn into Christopher Eccleston who'd kick most peoples asses!
Agree 100% that Doctor Who is at it's very best when it is silly. Graham Crowden's performance in Horns of Nimon is so large it can be seen from space but God he's having such a great time. Plus the "Weakly Scum" shouting co-pilot splits his pants when he dies! My favourite solution to a problem in the history of the show is when the Second Doctor's plan for dealing with the Yeti is to "bung a rock at it!" God I love Patrick Troughton! This was such a fun video Josh, congrats on the 20k!
Congrats on this Milestone Josh, you deserve it mate. You and your channel are a big reason why 60s Who is my favorite as there are just as many incredible stories behind the camera of the time as there was in front of.
And as a fellow fan of The First Doctor, I totally agree with your points. Hartnell was such an amazing actor and is sadly often overlooked in the fandom, with many just citing him as the first and not much else character wise. Like you said, 1 is much funnier than many give him credit for, whether it be Hartnell’s hilarious facial reactions, his sassy remarks, his giggles, or even moments such as him hiding in a Dalek; he makes me smile when I need it the most.
I always like to think about the 1 like this: “The first Doctor went from an cold, egotistical man who would bash a caveman over the head with a rock, to a Warm Hearted friend and hero who marched forward into battle against the War Machines, while everyone else ran away
The Nyssa Adventures will obviously be a space hospital drama! Grey’s Anatomy in Spaaace.
shoutout to the person who, yesterday, asked me if doctor who was ever filmed in black and white. he did not expect a lecture on chromadots but guess what he got.
😂😂
That was fun: you bring such a mix of charm, humour and insightful comment to your work, especially when you're coming from a place of enjoyment.
Came for the Q/A. Stayed for the memes.
Congrats on the amazing milestone, Josh! Always love watching both these more casual videos and your Documentaries, both have very unique but great energy to them that I can just chill and vibe with.
The “which missing ep would swap?” question was a great one! And you’re 100% right Josh. Look at what a ‘classic’ “Tomb of the Cybermen” was considered to be before it was found in 1992 (actually you’re probably not nearly old enough to remember that). For me, it was more exciting than my 18th birthday that was around the same time. Then I watched it. And it was great to see. But everyone had said it was a classic up till then. 😶😐
I ADORE Tomb of the Cybermen! I was surprised to see it wasn't heralded as a classic when it returned.
To be fair, I think the myth of Web of Fear was better than the discovered story!
But then again, I thought Enemy of the World was a classic, and didn't care for the recon!
Funny how it all works out.
@@JoshSnares let me be clear: Tomb did a waaaaaay better job of living up to the ‘classic status’ hype when it was recovered than Web of Fear ever could! 😬
As a Cyberman fan, Tomb is still a great story. Better answer: swap The Web Planet for Dalek's Master Plan!
congrats for 20k subscribers Josh. You deserve , I love it so much your personality, your humor. Many hugs.
Knowing our luck, those 6 episodes that are rumoured to be in collections is just The Space Pirates
Congratulations on reaching 20K subscribers. You deserve this success because of all your work. And, as an aside, the BBC should be THANKING you. You are giving them great publicity on their top show.
Hilarious as always..! I clapped out loud when you mentioned the UCLAN recreation of 'Mission To The Unknown' - for Edward De Souza to be on-set and confirm that it looked just as he remembered... and Peter Purves to confirm the correctness of the 'Who vibe' is was the highest praise. Having seen it, and the IL animation, I adamantly believe 'it' [UCLAN]- and your appraisal of it, should round out any BBC MTTU animation DVD as extra features.
PS - Watching this Q&A, it made me think you would be an interesting choice for an eccentric/flamboyant younger 1st Doctor, in some one-off time-stream shenanigans based story [as New Who likes to do].... and YES, Susan should definitely come back - a/ Carole Anne Ford was / is amazing [still a sparkly wee thing], and b/ maybe one day [in an alternate timeline] Susan IS a Timelord, and has the courage to do to the Daleks what Tom Baker's 4th Doctor could not... because she 'knows'...
"Genre fluid"! Love that! 😂
Really enjoyed that - thank you for all you do (and will do, hopefully!)
Congrats on hitting 20k that’s great you really deserve it
Omg I made it whoo hoo, love the answer too. Would love to see Hartnells speech.
Thanks for answering my question - I knew one episode of web of fear was held but I had missed the fact that there were more than one held in private collections
Congrats on 20k subs, Josh. Very well deserved. Excellent content.
Congratulations on 20k subscribers!! Thanks for creating more fun content!!
Will watch this later today but sending thanks and congratulations right now. You’re amazing. 😎👍
Thanks for answering my question! I really hope you get around to finishing that multiple Doctor story someday.
A fellow member of the Donna Noble appreciation society! Yay! 😃👍👏. I love Tegan, but Turlough was always my fave Fifth Doctor companion. Morally ambiguous has always kind of been my thing.
Great work, Mr Snares, enjoy your stuff. You sir, please keep them coming.
Congratulations on 20k Josh 🎉 Thanks for answering my question!
Mans delivering that Content fresh and warm
Congrats man, if your past content is any indication, you're gonna kill it...
Maybe litterally *looks around nervously*
first doctor who experiences are so fun to hear about because everyone is different. My first experience was my mom explaining weeping angels. for years I imagined doctor who as this surreal dark horror show and then I watched it
congratulations on 20k! you're lovely!
Thank you! congratulations on 20k
omg love this haha!! thanks for answering my question! when i wrote it i was literally thinking of gradey too omg
Yay thanks for answering my question! Congrats on 20k!
The greatest few weeks ever when i see a Josh Snares vid.
Congrats on 20k subs! You've earned it!
Thanks for answering my question, congrats on reaching 20,000
Another great video Josh, on a cold horrible morning I just smiled for 36 minutes & 12 seconds.
Love you Josh!! You are a true inspiration even if you think that you're just a hot mess ;D
that was lovely. thanks for all the videos
I can confirm that Josh despite what he has said hit me 😭. I disrespected Nyssa and sooooo
Congrats on 20K subscribers!
32:24 THANK YOU!!!
I honestly think that Hartnell is the funniest Doctor closely followed by Pertwee due to their wit and I guess sarcasm
Either way, great video Josh. Nice to hear some more opinions from you
Have you ever done/thought about doing a panel at a doctor who convention? Because that'd be amazing!
I’d be very flattered, but I’d rather be a regular attendee than be on stage! 😂
Hey Josh, congrats on 20k! I'm p sure we were mutuals on Tumblr way back in the day. I'm not on that platform anymore but as I found out I'm still subbed. Thank you for bringing so much life and passion back into old Who
omg the old tumblr days! Feels like an eternity ago!!
Honey, I’ll watch anything you do on UA-cam … well, almost :)
Congratulations on the milestone!
I hope you keep working on that 1st/4th/10th Doctor animated story! It'd be so cool to see that someday ^-^
Plot twist: someone made 20k different accounts and subbed on all of them
It’s me. I’m someone.
Congratulations!
Correct answer with the doctor's speech at the end of the massacre. One of my fave moments in the show's history at least based on the audio
Congrats on 20K!
Oh! Sixie is just plain fabulous
Congratulations Josh!
just love your k9 and company titles.
History of big finish wow I want to make that
Congrats, all of your videos are great
I watch everything, but never comment, so I wanted to send you sum love'n. Big hug... keep creating. I believe in your talent.
Josh is like the Pink Panther at the start LOL 20K? Well done and congrats.
Congrats on 20k subbers mate.
Josh, your hair is awesome!
That was a hot mess Josh... loved every second of it! And yes, you can hit some of your subscribers, that would be entertaining too, lol. 😆
Oh my gosh I'd love the making of galaxy 4
Additional Q related to video games, have you ever played the Doctor Who level pack in LEGO Dimensions? If you did, what did you think of it?
LOVED LEGO dimensions, played the packs multiple times over!
Hey Josh, love your videos. Would you ever do a video on your favourite cliffhangers from the classic series?
Never been a big Cliffhanger person, and would probably just choose the same ones everyone else does!
I'm waiting for the 100k. Then I'll have questions. The best questions. Love you Josh xx.
Wow congrats your doctor who content is great and it is good hearing from someone else in Australia
I thoroughly recommend you check out Red Dwarf (if you haven't already). Start with the episode 'Backwards' and see what you reckon.
I’d rather choke!
@@JoshSnares seriously? It's a comedy!
Personally, I think The Champions or Sapphire and Steel would be better to recommend than RD. Since it is a comedy, specifically British comedy, I've found RD doesn't really translate very well. It's one of the reasons that the US, for example, does those *very* hit and miss adaptations, all the time.
Great video
I honestly forgot I sent that. Great Q and A
The Adventure Games SUPREMACY. Josh, you always have impeccable taste. You're just always correct.
Also South Australian Doctor Who fan, Rock on
Well done
OMG, someone else who actually likes Tegan!!
I told someone about karate nun YESTERDAY. so ur right about that one xx
love u, Charles Darwin
I love it when Dr Who is hard sci fi, but I also love the silly Tom Baker episodes because the production team and the Doctor himself, Tom Baker, made it work. Though I use to love when watching Dr Who as a kid taught me about science. I learned what the Van Allen Belt was from the Silurians episodes.
I'd also like to see Doctor Who return to Mesoamerica, such as the old Mayan civilization. Perhaps Pancho Villa could also make an appearance.
Sweet, I made the vid! Dang, now I wish I'd asked a better question....
8:35 That's technically the premise to Big Finish's Cyberman series. Even if most Cyberman stories on the show amount to 'Base under siege'.
As for re-examining animated episodes. Web of Fear, comes to mind...
23:46 I like the implication that “back in the day” could have meant 1967 Tumblr 😅
Congrats on 20k, looking forward to your future work.
16:16
My first experience was seeing a 70s dalek in a toy shop.
3:35 I agree but three would put up a fair fight
Cool 😎
Would be awesome if you made your way to the UK. I'd have to do a photoshoot with you!
Snares' Snobs Unite!!
Damn, I should have submitted a question.
Give Blake’s 7 a try. Seriously. It’s not really science fiction, but a Doctor Who styled production set in space. (Many of the same writers, directors, producers, and composers.) Great mix of adventure, drama, and humor. Plus it has two of the greatest BBC characters of the 70s: Avon and Servalan. You will love them. Just give it at least 4-6 episodes. You can thank me later.
You deserve it!!!
Dear girls, gays 😂
Love it!
I LOVE DANNA NOBLE
I LOVE BILL TOO OMG
Would you ever think about doing a breakdown of the RPGs about Doctor Who, for example: “The Doctor Who Role-Playing Game” by FASA, or “Time Lord” by Virgin Publishing, or “Doctor Who Role-Playing Game” by Cubicle 7? I assume you’ve played some of these, although some do go back a bit. The materials for the first game are amazing.
Nah, not really my thing!
@@JoshSnares I might still suggest the source books for "The Dalaks" and "The Master" for the FASA game. A lot of alternative background material, for example, The Meddling Monk is actually an early incarnation of The Master.
Will you ever reupload "My dream of Tom Baker" it is my favourite video
Poor Nyssa, she must be heartbroken.
Nyssa found crying
Dye your hair black and you could be in Stranger Things!
20k subs that's like... a lot more fingers than I have on my hand
At least 5 more fingers
General Bad Beyotch is a top ranking UNIT Officer.
Am still crossing my fingers and hoping when the next Doctor is relieved that you are revealed .... Sigh .... Unlikely I know .... But I do think the Beeb should look at your for narrating documentaries, always truly awesome and engaging when you are doing them :-)
I cannot act, I would be a terrible doctor! Doesn’t interest me in the slightest haha
War Nyssa!!?? LOL
Damn It, I Missed It!
Oh Wow,
A Heart In Only 2 Minutes
0:59 Wait - this is real? de Grasse Tyson did/said that??? Now the Epic Rap Battle makes more sense to me!
Important Question: Shada or Sheda?
Sheda!
Oh hey, a fellow person who lives in Adelaide. We do exist.
I love the missing episodes videos, I put them on DVD to sit next to Lost In Time
Grown-ups appreciate Silly Who
8:28 Doctor Who"s Dreamland is exactly what you're talking about, obiviously not live action but still voiced by Tennant and a quality cast
