I started my moms locs 10 years ago when i was 17 with your first method.. i used virgin kinky human hair to achieve the long loc look she wanted (25inches). It locked up so naturally and beautifully.. 10 years later most have been already cut out "about 3 inches a year" and now is left with with long natural locs thats all hers😊
Hi Jay! If it's not too much trouble I would love more details about how you were able to loc your mom's hair using the virgin kinky human hair. For example, did you braid or twist yours mom's hair? Did you take out the added hair and add hair again over the years? How did you go about cutting the added hair out? I'm very intrigued as I want to loc my hair, i have about 6 inches of new growth and another 6 inches of chemically treated hair and I do not want to cut my hair again so it sounds like if I start my locs with your method I can gradually cut out the ends of my hair. Thank you!! ❤🙏🏽
I love the tips I’ve learned for taking care of mine, and my littles hair from glamfam. I share the videos with my friend so much she’s about ready to ban me.
Love your videos, Linwood You know,, I enjoy how you explain and demonstrate how you apply different ways in braiding and all of various hairstyles. I love your patience and your kindness on your videos. God Bless you.
Thank you so much for the very detailed explanation! My daughter just threw this new style at me to learn. I always panic first and then head to youtube to learn what to do. I think I can totally manage this. I subscribed and appreciate your style of teaching.
Thanks for imparting your experience and knowledge to us. I love braids, twists, lots but was never satisfied with how I did them in my own hair. Your video showed me that it IS about technique and once I get it correct I can choose the product.
Hey, Linwood! Hope you are doing well. I recently shaved my head and I'm thinking about consciously growing it back. What are specific daily absolute must do's in your opinion?
The only thing I would say “daily” is to make sure you are sleeping on satin or silk. In terms of general care, have you downloaded my free haircare guide?
Hi from the UK. Any thoughts of demonstrating authentic locs please? Mine are thinning due to over-styling with tight styles. It would be great to see you showing a loc wearer having their roots retwisted, as you are so patient and thorough. I'm so over tutorials showing people giggling, playing music and chatting incessantly about themselves before getting to the point! Stay blessed 🤎
🤔 I never thought about doing the longer hair like that....I was wrapping for 40 days and 40 nights 😫🤭 #YouLearnEveryday Thank you Sir. #IllBeAtDaAltarIfYouNeedMe as usual 🤭
Thanks for sharing these tips! I’ve been loving ur videos and how simple they are❤ I love faux locs but my edges can’t anymore. 😩😂 should the low tension method work for thinner textures? Should I add extensions to my hair for more bulk than start the faux loc?
I had this blessed heffa tell me I couldn't get faux locs because my hair was too short at an inch long. Well, of course, I couldn't get them with my hair being an inch long, and her nails were a staggering 10 inches long 😮😅! Lol ok I digress and forgive my language, but I do wish I could get this style. It's so beautiful.
Hello Mr. Linwood, I have watched your videos off and on for awhile. I appreciate the information that you share. And that is why I need to ask you this question. Have you heard of and used the hair product brand name "Nairobi"? I heard a lady say that she use their wrap lotion and I want to know your opinion on the product. Thanks and take care
I have braidlocs (they come to the middle of my back) and would like to do something like this as a protective style. Could this be done and what would your recommendations be?
Linwood! PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE! Question!!! I have 4C hair, when in its natural state it is VERY thick, so thick it can not all be pulled into 1 ponytail. HOWEVER, when I go to the Dominicans for a blow out. My very thick hair turns thin when straighten. This caught me off guard my first time getting a blow out because I thought with my thick full hair I would have a nice full looking blow out. When you see my hair in it’s natural state you would never believe how it looks when blown out. Now obviously different blow dryers yield different results. When I use my at home dryer my hair thins out but not as much. But can you PLEASE explain why that happens?? I’ve seen girls with my type hair have nice full thick blow outs so I’m not understanding why my head want to act funny😂
@@GetGlamFam In that case, I would love to learn from you in person in the future! You're entirely welcome as well. Eventually I hope to be half as skilled as you are. 🙏🏼
It could be the size of it that’s giving you The most issues. I used to have problems when I started using it as well, but they do make smaller ones if you wanted to try with something that was possibly a little easier to work with. Thanks for watching!

I truly love your teaching style. I think you are AMAZING! Thank you for the work you put into ypur videos.
Thank u sm for the twist method, I don’t have the dexterity yet for braids on my own hair so this is clutch. Going to try this tomorrrow!
I learned the brick layering method on the parting. Thank Linwood 💗! I don't know if I can do this, but I like the neatness of the parting.

I’m upset that I was today years old coming across this channel 😢😢😢😢😢
Great detailed tutorial. Tks🌞
Help us do super short hair crochet loc for growing out hair thank so much
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll try to put something together for you!
My daughter has fine, tight curls that are prone to knotting and matting would this be a good protective style for her?
What do you think about the braid and pull through method? Braid the hair and take the hook, and pull the braid through the loc.
question: is there a reason that i wouldn’t want to pull my natural hair thru the center of the faux loc instead of wrapping it?
I have braidlocs (they come to the middle of my back) and would like to do something like this as a protective style. Could this be done and what would your recommendations be?
This helped me a lot thanks hun💕😇🙏

Good morning, I hope your day is going well so far. Thank you so much for watching!
At this point of my life I wear locs, twist and braids because I'm lazy about styling my hair and it's much easier for me to maintain.
Awesomeness Thank you
I want YOU to style my hair!!!!!😢😢😢😢😢
Same! Linwood is gifted.😊
Thank you both! I’m no longer behind the chair though. I teach full time now. ❤

Wax or gel is not used in this technique?
All I can think while watching is that I want to be the mannequin LOL. But that is true for all hair videos.
I kinda want the mannequin for my kid to learn
Very helpful! All that wrapping the braid inside the loc, then opening up the loc was too much for me!
I can't get the hang of the latch hook. 😢😢😢

@GlamFam Hair & Beauty Thank you Linwood. I'm going to look for a smaller one. I still have hope!🤣
3rd method would probably be better for my tenderheaded daughter.
Oh absolutely!
