Very satisfying to watch. It’s almost as if I have completed these tasks. Except without the cost, hard work, and research that goes along with each of these jobs. Thanks for posting, no need to feel apologetic for the project related content, a lot of us enjoy this content as much or more than the sailing and adventurising ( thanks Capt. Brian) content.
Ah thank you so much for watching! I'm glad to hear from the viewers who enjoy the project episodes. And really, we are just a vlog and boat projects come with this lifestyle 💪😜🐼
I like watching project video's. It shows me how you go about improving your sailing lifestyle to extend your range of knowledge and abilities. Must have had a lot of input from others as well as independent research. A comfortable lifestyle is a happy lifestyle................... enjoy
Awe thanks so much for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It is satisfying when a project is successful, and we do as much as we can ourselves for sure! 🥰
Great job guys! Yes, good get the excess weight out of the bow. One idea to maybe further improve you anchor rode might be to switch to the G7 5/16" chain. It is a lot lighter and actually stronger than the G40 3/8". We were able to fit 100 meters of the G7 5/16" into our Maramu along with 60 meters of lines spliced to the end and the weight seems ok. You will need to change the wildcat/gypsy on the windlass to match the smaller chain but these are available. Best J&J
Oh wow that is a great tip! Probably once our chain is used up we would go with this for sure. The sailing performance is noticeable keeping it light up there!
Great video. Interesting to see you removed the solar arch for dinghy davits......we are thinking of doing the opposite. I guess we always think the grass is greener on the other side! Our solar right now is above our cockpit enclosure which works great but we think we want more solar. This makes us reconsider. Thanks guys!
Glad you enjoyed the work! It's hard to know for sure, but I think we would have kept the arch if we had stuck to the original equatorial plan 🤷♀️ however after sailing with it and our times docking more than we thought, I would be more inclined to find solar alternative spots on the boat, like the easily removable and adjustable side stern wing panels or the ones under development that go up the mast. (And a big Balmar alternator has been a game changer!)
Pete and I LOVED this video - so well done and we are sure some of the stuff was more complicated than you made it look, so thanks for dumming it down! 😉. Would be great to get a sense of the cost of equipment and the amount of time you spent on each project (for future reference)…. perhaps a Patreon post at some point? ☺️. Keep rocking it with the content 🙌🏻
Ah I'm so glad you guys enjoyed! I probably should have shown the cost of each, but your right, I'll do a more extensive write up for Patreon, that is perfect! 👏🥰🐼
Not at the moment. 800L of water for two people can take us about 2 months or more if we are good. One of the benefits of an old cruiser with lots of tankage 🥰👏🤙
Love project videos! It looks like you covered the other side of the insulation (cabin side) with some sort of material... it looked blue in your forward cabin shot while the foam itself looked green in the application section of the video. If you did apply material what did you go with?
Thanks for watching! The foam is just gray both sides, and we didn't cover it...yet. probably just bad white balance in those shots. It's just 12mm closed cell camping mat foam 🥰

Oh yeah shrimp tacos! Makes me hungry 😋
I’m amazed by your guys work and how much fun you guys have doing it.
Ha thanks so much for the kind words! We are just happy someone is enjoying our shenanigans 😂💪🐼
yeah love watching other people doing boat jobs!! (so I can forget for a few minutes about boat jobs haha :) ) Great episode guys!!!
Haha, watching other people's boat work is always way better! 😉 Glad the episode made you forget about your own projects for a bit 😅

Darren's voice over narration reminds me of Rick Steve's Europe and I love it!!
Haha yes! Channeling his inner travel nerd... Thanks so much for following 🥰
Nice compilation of some fairly substantial projects. Thanks for sharing! SV Nepenthe, Grenada.
Thanks! And there were so many more...least this was a good view of some 🥰
Great video I love boat refitting it shows what goes into the life on the water.
Thanks! It's a lot of work, but well worth the reward ⛵❤️

Please put coolant not water in your engine
Thanks for watching! We use water wetter (redline) and demineralized water instead. An old race car habit I guess 🤪
👍Well done mate, very impressed.

@sailingpopeye
Only because I didn't show you all the things I screwed up 😂. Thanks for watching guys 🤪🤙🐼
