Nice content as usual, appreciate you can't do assessments, though I wonder if you could confirm my opinion on a video when you're feeling ok?
sounds like you got vaccinated :/
@@BookofYAH777 ok bro chill
Is that why I do horribly on every one of the MBTI and CF tests? Because for every single one, I think it depends on the situation. I don't understand how I could possibly be expected to answer something that vague with complete accuracy, which is why I especially think that the tests are always BS.
ME EXACTLY
SO TRUE WTF
I like to describe the higher Ti types as "stopping to inspect the car" when it comes to new information. They struggle to take information and just "drive" and need to understand why something is the way it is before they feel comfortable doing anything. I like the word classifying though, hadn't heard it said like that. It is very much like a system of taxonomy with information and accuracy. The struggle with Ti being subjective though is the system can be built on a bad structure if they become too attached to an idea/thought, same with Fi of course. Good video, liked the differentiation.
Not sure how Ti users struggle with information when they have high speed Ne acquiring and they're basically consuming things majorly.
@@planetary-rendez-vous They don't struggle with learning or consuming information, they just don't want to speed past the full understanding aspect. Te types can read a sentence or two and say "got it" to a point enough where they can use the information without fully understanding it. Essentially, Te respects the information less.
@@AsuraPsych True, makes sense, thanks for clarifying.
But the ultimate question is, why does the Ti need to ask why all the time??
Yeah I can relate to that. I remember it happening in school often where a teacher is like: „This is the information, now deal with it.“ or „This is the formula, now use it.“ As a Ti dominant I often find it hard to be confronted with information that I can’t classify/put in context in order to fully understand it which I always try
Don't want to add a layer of complexity to a simple observation, but it's worth keeping in mind each each of these Doms' counterpart.
Ti-doms want to internalise/express an accurate 'truth', but their Fe also factors in the need to harmonise with the conversation-partner's mental framework.
Fi-doms expect authenticity (i.e your/their *actual* opinion) in everything they say/hear, and that's further prioritised by their Te which wants rapidly-utilisable information.
Well put!
The "by favorite color you mean..." triggered a strong sense of reocurrence of some Ti doms' whom I know interactions. I also had an hour talk with an INFP friend and I pointed out how she talked mostly about her feelings, even though the question or the idea was not targeting that in any way.
Legit. This is why I prob come across as pedantic a bunch of times and why my answer to nearly every question is "it depends". But usually people want more than that, so I'll list out a bunch of factors without prompting and give different answers accordingly. To expand on your point about wanting to get to the "truth" of the matter, it's basically all about how I want to find out the main reasons why X is X - core concepts that really influence and distinguish what X is vs. Y, Z, etc. Without those reasons I can't really fully understand something.
Tying back to the favourite colour question, I'd ask myself what makes a colour my favourite in the first place? What does favourite mean? What does colour mean? And branch off from there.
Yup, about coming across as pedantic that happens a lot... Not only this, but a lot of times, when talking with new ppl and pointing out my tastes, a lot of times the person gets angry at me bc I can put precisely why I like the things I like and by analogy the person implies "well If that thing she likes is good for x, y, z reason, so the one thing I like is bad once it didnt have any of this". Took me some time, but now when I say why I like something I make sure to clarify "It doesnt mean other things cant be good either"
@Zeldasim INTP
I'm not a Ti dom like you, but I also answer a lot of questions with "it depends" beacause, well, everything is indeed relative. I do understand right after, though, that the person needs a concrete answer so I try to elaborate some sort of conclusion, but that may be Ni taking the lead?
Hmm, this could also explain why I’m always conflicted about test questions, which does it mean? One question can have 2 meanings and my complaint is that they are never specific enough for test results to be accurate. I think the key words for me are define, accurate, scrutinise, classify.
“Whether their answer is accurate or not depends on the definition” -> this
i mean, me too (im still not sure whether i use ti or fi tho) but i always thought that was bc of my NE, like seeing many possibilities and stuff?
Ti user here. I just figured out this yr how to answer the question, "what is your favorite ____?"
A great answer to this question is what would you like your friends to pick up for you if you're not there.
Mint chocolate chip is not my "favorite" flavor of ice cream, but if my friends were to order for me, mint chocolate chip would be "good enough". I would be totally happy with that.
I agree with your observations about Fi users. My dad is one, and sometimes, I think to myself, "I should really do a shot each time he says 'I like' or 'I don't like.' 😂 Also, to add, there seems to be slight differences between the answers of Ti users with Se-Ni and Ne-Si (based on experience). For example, my mom is Ti-Se, and she is not exactly fond of saying 'it depends' (maybe low Ne). Instead, when asked about a topic, she will define it on her own terms and flesh it out based on her own definitions.
Exactly!
Dang i say the phrase "it depends" almost all the time when it comes to making a decision
@@EvilMeganium Me too! There can be multiple answers to a question depending on different situations. Definitely a high Ne thing. -INFP
Ti-dom here. I agree. If asked to pick 1 colour without a context, I feel like I am being inauthentic/untruthful to pick only one. My favourite colour totally depends on the context for me. For example, I love yellow-orange in the context of a turquoise background (like a mango/apricot with a tropical blue ocean behind it). 😂 But but by itself, the aquamarine colour would be the top choice. I also struggle with apply a colour label, single the spectrum is a continuum of hues and shades. I know, that’s so Ti... 🤦🏻♂️😂
If someone asked me to pick 1 color i would just say red
@@EvilMeganium yes, Ti dom here, and I either pick a random color. Or I have them pick a color for me. ("Oh well, what color do you think would fit me?") And let them fill in the blanks to their own question lol
As an INFP I usually say I have about 5 favourite colours, it depends on which situation I'm using them for. I love brown/green because they're earthy and I love them for furniture and clothes. I love orange and yellow because they are the colours of fall (my favourite season), but also growing up they were often the rejected colours in board games (for the playable pieces) so I always chose them and grew attached to them. I love blue because it's really calming and pretty, but it's also super commonly a loved colour so I rarely choose it for myself (in games, clothes, decour, etc) because to choose blue wouldn't be original, and yet I still love it to look at and half my wardrobe ends up being blue, lol.
I can't give a simple answer to such a simple question. Lol!
@@benjaminfast5496 Very interesting and very INFP lol. My sister is an ISFP and she's always asking me what colors I like and "what does Blue mean to you?", for example. I usually get stumped cause blue doesnt mean anything to me other than what the Color psychology says about it and how we use it in design.
@@rasamasala Haha! That's interesting! I'd imagine an ISFP would, for example, love the colour blue because it reminds them of the sky and they love the sky. There would be something "real" they can relate it to, but also true to their Fi.
My meaning would be a bit more convoluted than that (as I already expressed.)
Are you an INTP or ISTP, because whether you have Ne or Se could also drastically change your response. Based on your first post I'm assuming INTP because you reference "situations" which is an Ne thing.
In conclusion: ti users will never give you a straight forward answer
That depends.
sometimes INTP's but not always because they have an informative interaction style
great video! i have a good bit of infp friends and thinking about it now this makes much sense and they indeed love making things about themselves
I remember a couple of years ago I went to one of these discord servers and to get typed. They would ask me these types of questions, “what is your favorite color?” And immediately I was like “what do you mean by favorite?”. They basically said “you can never give a straight answer to any question” or it is “impossible to type you because you have no opinions”. I was just trying to be as truthful and accurate as possible when answering their questions. Was a strange and surreal experience. Nowadays I identify as an ENTP.
Hah, that in itself started typing you.
I knew a stoner and their responses weren’t Fi or Ti. It was definitely Hi
Great video! Picking apart questions is something I'm guillty of. 😅 This always happens to me with questions on mbti test - it frustrates me that I can't determine what *exactly* was meant by a particular question. How can you answer it if you might be thinking something else?
And it's the same with conversations. Whenever I talk to someone about more philosophical/abstract topics, I like us to define the words we're using to describe the concept. "Ok, but what exactly is your definition of this word in this context?" Clarifying that can be incredibly helpful and it's insightful as well, very telling about you and the person you're talking to.
In my English language class, I was asked what my favorite season was, and to describe it. It dumbfounded me haha. As to my favorite colour I usually say "Grey" solely due to its symbolism being vague (Things aren't necessary black or white, its always a shade of grey; balance)
As an INTP and an artist, the color one is interesting. My sister is an ISFP (Fi dom) and she's always asking me what my favorite [insert thing] is, and I'm always asking her what she means. So when she gives me the example like, "oh I like this color because it feels like me", I still get stuck for a loop cause it doesn't clarify what she's asking lol.
So I tell her I don't have a favorite color because color is really perceived as nice because of color relationships and being adjacent to each other. So it's hard to pick one because colors are enjoyable when two or more are working together to create contrast and color harmony. And by then, she's already thinking I've said too much about the topic.
Honestly most test I took say Ti-dom but I got a hard time with expressing my feelings, makes me spiral my internal monologue sound Fi related making me second guess if I was mistyped Fi-dom. But on the flip side I get this too with my mom, when she asks me what I want to eat or to pick a dress for her, my first answer is "anyone" if I akwardly pick up that she didn't like that answer then my brain goes into pro and con mode where I end up picking the outfit based on utility but living a certain space to consider other options
The tendency of oversimplification is to think of Fi users as non-thinkers, but they can have intellect quite developed. Fi would look at an answer and feel intuitively for its correctness rather than dissecting the question apart into so many strands as in Ti.
This was awesome!! Excited for the next videos on that! :D I'd love to hear more examples of how different functions answer the same question!
Hahah...This is so accurate! I like hearing about these type of observations!
@C.S. Joseph hahah
my response to the color question:
"I'm not sure. I don't think I have a favorite color. I like all colors. But if I had to pick... I suppose pink is really nice to look at. It's very aesthetic and cute."
which am I?
I'm just like you

Your explanation of Ti and Fi makes sense and I think I may be closer to figuring out if I am an xNTP or xNFP. There is a reason why I added E to a possibility despite being extremely socially introverted.
For the color question, I will always start off by saying that I like every color except most shades of yellow. Then I'll explain that it depends on the context. For example, if I'm picking a color I like in general, I like a dark, fire red. If I'm creating art, then I tend to choose shades of blue. So then do I like blue since I use it more? And I know no one wants to listen to me spend that much time on a stupid question but I can't help it. ha
INTP here, wish more people would elaborate on their assumptions and thought process. It makes what could be a completely dry question/answer into something really interesting, gives ideas for follow-up questions and things to explore! Ne gobble gobble
That is an Fi answer. You started with "I like" and then proceeded with more shades of "I like", explaining your criteria for prioritization. And you added sentence about Fi priorities of other people, which is what Te is for. And your answer is very Fi-Te heavy like INFP answer would be. ENFP answer would be more about patterns and data (Ne-Si), just like mine comment is (Ni-Se in my case).
I feel that my opinion is not important and that the color question is also not important or interesting, so I just answer "Green" and be done with it. I can't put time and effort into explaining something that I don't care about. I'm an INFP. There was a brief time that I wondered if I might be an INTP, so I watched some compilations of INFP and INTP interviews, analyzed their behaviors (facial expressions, tone of voice, body language, etc) and the answer became very obvious. They are almost polar opposites, I couldn't relate to the INTPs at all. I thought that you might be a Sensor, purely because of your profile pic 😂 (basketball players).
@@amacatcat Same, I always feel compelled to explain my thought process but since people don't do so I don't see why I'm obligated to, and not match their dry answer.
@@OhSmexyGirlfriend I have an answer because being around young kids lately, the question pops up repeatedly. I'm usually more interested in the why someone chooses a color than the color itself. Then again, it's not a question I ever ask but if the kids bring it up, I need to know why.
As an INTP, for me the problem is that communication is made up of many parts: sender, receiver, message, code, channel, etc.
Therefore, what seems like a "simple" question for other types, for me is a complex problem right away:
a) what is the context or intention of the question? Is it a rhetorical or "true" question?
b) what kind of language should I use (casual or precise)?
c) what message should I convey? (what do I ACTUALLY think or what do others “want to hear”?)
d) who is asking me this question? (a friend, a stranger, an authority?)
The last thing a Ti-dom will consider is "Should I express how I FEEL about this?"
After all, "what I feel" has nothing to do with the "truth" of an answer. Unless the question is precisely "How do you FEEL about X or Y?". And at that moment Ti-dom has to take a long break to access what he feels. And most of the time he doesn't feel ANYTHING in particular about X, Y or Z. His opinion is based on a system of reasons, not a mix of emotions
A reason why there is such a difference in answering questions also has something to do with Fi users using Te logic, and what Te does is that it takes in the external definition of information, rather than trying to search for a "true" definition like Ti does. Te guesses what the definition of something is according to how the external world defines it, or what the person who asks the question meant. Contrary to Ti, Te values efficiency more than accuracy, and breadth more than depth, so it's not going to go into the definition of every single keyword of a question. It's going to use the definition provided by the external and go with it.
It's not only about accuracy. Ti Dom's always have a reason for what they like and what they do. I wear black because it matches everything. I like beige because it's part of a system. Other types may not have reasons but we've got reasons for everything we do. So it's not just about getting to the truth. We don't tend to do things arbitrarily.
Now I'm even more confused bcs based on this, I seem to be Highly Ti and I've thought I've been an Fi dom all along.
ISFP here, so FI dom. This is exactly right. We are value driven. If someone asks me a question accuracy is the last thing on my mind. Instead I weigh whether the question is interesting, why they are asking it, how I feel like answering. Because FI does not like to give their feelings away lightly.
TI doms in my colllege courses drove me crazy! But honestly, I learn a lot from them.
"Accuracy is the last thing on my mind" oh thanks your comment proves i am definitely not Fi
Ti Dominant here. We operate on the maxim "accuracy doesn't depend on emotion."
Therefore some of my most common responses to claims or questions can be:
-"That depends."
-"That's debatable."
OR -"What do you mean by...X..?"
I think scrutinizing the question also can have something to do with either dominant perceiving or Se/Ni. Because I could think of a lot of intps answering it simply. Dominant judgers are quicker to judge.... so they may not even think about the deeper nuances of a question.
With this video I've realized that am a Ti user (after a long research btw lol) bc, I can't get an only answer for a question, for me it always depends on the context, if it's a serious question I'm always gonna say "what do you mean by that?" or "in which aspect are we talking about?" (maybe also bc of my Ne dom)
Thank you so much!
Ali plumb (bbc radio 1 ) interviewer (who is entp) accurately said isla fishers (enfp) dress colour with 4 combination
She was so happy by the opinion
Cz fi linked with te ti linked with fe
Basically almost the same
That Ti users sounds so much like me. That's explain why I procrastinate A LOT. Turns out, I don't have Te in my top 4 🤦♀️ I used to think I'm an ISTJ 🤣
Love this! Such great perspective!
I've been wondering if I'm more of a Ti or Fi user. When Fi was explained, I could say, "Yeah I usually response stuffs to what my prefences are. Maybe I'm Fi."
Then, when the Ti explanation came I was also thinking the same, when I am being asked a certain question, I usually ask em back first about the context, etc to make my answer closer to what the /asker/ wanted. But if I'm asked about favorite color I'll answer it rightaway.
Maybe because I'm an Ne dom so that doesn't apply to me? Does that mean I use Ti more since I feel the Ti explanation is closer to me? Oh wait "feeling an explanation /right/" could also mean Fi based on the later info in the video.. Idk I should stop thinking too much-
You Ne doms will give heart attack to any straight thinkers 😂
Full of contradictions
For the colour question
I dont have a favourite colour but if i had to pick it would blue, black and orange
Which one am i??
Ok, as an ti Dom, (istp) I can agree with the colour thing, bcz for example, whenever someone is asking something to others, they can answer immediately, but for me, I get a little bit confused and I start asking more questions so I can understand exactly/the point of that question, and also, there's a lot of ppl who always tell me "the way you think/see things is way different than the others" and I never understood why bcz I always thought that ppl think the same way as I do but now that I'm starting to understand more, I can see and I can relate to what they say Abt me, that I think differently than the rest
Btw sorry for my bad English, English is not my first Language neither is my second language so yeah, I do have knowledge that there are some things that are badly written
INFJ- ( Ni, Fe, Ti, Se) I'm not the least bit interested in accuracy. 🙄
that's either due to mistyping or the INFJ normalcy bias.
thanks for this! now im pretty sure i use ti as my dom :)
The color question Ive never did any of these...but movies, series, animes, anything else on that line, I just can't... I've to like it because blablabla... I can point very precisely the "why" and "why nots" to like or dislike something
Is it only me or any other INTPs need accurate time while asking someone for time , when i ask someone for time and if they respond with "it's almost 8pm " i get mad like tell me it's 7:45 now or 7:59 .
Ti likes to be precise/meticulous ? I am INxJ.
When someone ask me the time, I always says the precise time.
I can relate, I get frustrated when my mom says she's coming after a few minutes, how much is few? I need to know, it could be 10 minutes or 5 minutes
Yeah I could say think about the accurate Qfor a Ti user. U would get a straight forward answer
. I'm for ever saying what do u mean in what way, gets tiring somewhat
I understand why u ask this Q though .
INXP here 🖐 hi
Why are you so lovely
-intp
Then the Ti dom should check the dictionary.
There's a difference between seeing possibilities of contexts of a word and just simply being slow for not understanding the definition of a word.
"Favorite" is not a vague word.
Ok hold up (searches up in Google the definition of "favorite")
@@EvilMeganium Let me guess Ti dom?
@@darth_santos1137 Maybe
I Read that despise of groupthink is more akin to inferior Te than Dominant Ti, how true is that?
@@darth_santos1137 that's absolutely false. Te is IxFP's inferior function, it is in the ego. whenever they favor thinking it's gonna be "what works for people" than "what works for myself". inferior functions are repressed. to repress something and to despise it are to different things. while Te for Ti doms is an "opposing function" (John Beebe's framework), meaning, an IxTP will oppose groupthink/herd mentality when it comes to logic. Ti doms prioritize originality in thinking , this is why they are called "inventive". a Ti dom will most likely challenge popular opinions.
high ti wouldn't have a true favorite color. they might have a few colors they especially dislike though. i know what i dislike much better than what i like.
both fi and ti categorize things and in fact both can be analytical too. it's just ti categorize things in a detached way because it wants to make sure things are classified fairly, without personal bias. so ti is simple, in this sense. complicated one is fi.
you use this phrase "if i feel like" which explains NOTHING to "others". your favorite color is blue? cool beans. so what? i will never "just" state what i like without giving a reason. so yeah, this is fe related too. fe understanding the question, fe understanding what type of answer do you want from me. so an intp or istp with fe inferior (feeling that pressure) want to be super accurate with their answers. extps though can just give you some random answer or even answer you absurdly turning things into a joke.
so yeah, okay, fi is empathy but the thing is whenever we use the word we automatically think two individuals involved. one puts him/herself into other's shoes. but in fact, i think empathy transcend that. i think fi users empathize with everything. colors, smells, shapes, flowers, rocks, trees, clouds, everyhting.
in contrast, as an entp with fi polr i know i would never wear something bright yellow. how do i know that? antipathy. my fi still works from shadow stack but in a negative way. i just know, instictively, bright yellow has nothing to do with my personality. i am not a happy go lucky sunshine whatsoever so in an almost reverse-fi way that's the color i most don't like.
i definitely say "this sucks" or "i hate it" more than "this is awesome" or "i love it". though i say "this is cool" or "oh shit wow" a lot too. but there's always some distance between me and the things.
Are you an ISFP?
Can you type me too?
Wow! This video feels very accurate. Definitely all the Ti of it. (INFJ)
Are cognitive functions tests accurate?
NO. For example ISFPs are often mistyped as INFJs.
i think as a starting point it’s not too bad especially if you don’t know too much about cognitive functions (by knowing about them you easily can spot which questions correlates with which function so you kinda subconsciously get the type you want if that makes any sense?? (idk)) but it can rule out certain functions. this can be a problem sometimes cus of intuitive biases in tests though so i’d probably just avoid them unless you find one that is accurate
@@idonthaveachannelname6585 According to keys2cognition's test I'm an INFP but I have serious dobuts about being INTP lol.
@@Mighty_Wizard omg i’m the other way around, it says i’m intp but i think i might be infp

Is she still mistyping herself as INFP? She’s ENFP or ESFP.
Why are you convinced so?
How are you so sure? She obviously has to talk and be engaging during her videos so wouldn't that be a factor?
Dont agree. I am ISFP and share with her INFP that childlike gentleness that makes people think we are ditzy. Notice she often looks down or away. Not an extrovert. Just trying to get her UA-cam done.
