Hi b)eing 777 guy...I just began flying the FSX and seem to still have trouble intercepting the ILS...can you state the exact steps for this video, as without sound it's a little difficult to understand...it's still a very good video and I am doing my best to pick up the steps needed, but must be missing something...thanks for your help...Gary
Other ILS videos didn't tell you how close or how low you had to be to activate APPR and i tried it and it didnt work. After watching this i finally managed to do my first ILS landing and i can do it easily now. Thank you so much.
Really useful video, please make more as it gets us up to speed with FSX so much more quickly. Would be great to hear you talking over the vid too. Nice one, appreciate your time thank you
Probably the first thing would be to describe the hardware/software set up you are using. It's a lot better than mine and appears to be optimal - many thanks
Should have watched this video beforehand... 3 hours down the drain. So manly live were lost today. I'm sure Air Crash Investigation is on scene as we speak. Stupid plane. Clicked APP and whoop 90 degree climb hey presto!
Hey man, the video is fantastic. Then have you ever tried the task "Amsterdam to London" with the FSX default 737-800, I tried to make the Rotterdam landing with ILS but never saw the LOC/GS on PFD with the ILS freq in NAV1, so... mind to take look at that when you got some time? Maybe 1~2 months later on your time, that's not urgent.
@@MrYungilike Tried it out and had no issue getting the loc or gs.. Did you maybe forget to switch the nav source from gps to nav on the autopilot panel?
@@b0eing777guy I got time to try this in weekend, yes I really forgot to switch nav source(which was GPS by default) so that's where the problem came from... appreciate your help on this.
I find AoA 9.9 degrees excessive for Boeing 737 on short final. Did you have flaps 25 and almost full tanks? I usually land AoA around 5.5 degrees and always flaps 30 or 40. Thank you anyway.
Thank you so much! But do i also have the possibility to fly with the nav-hold mode before reaching like 5000 feet during decent, and then start to fly with the heading hold like you did? I hope you understand what i mean :))
For the most part yes, you just need the ils frequency set and approach mode selected when you intercept it but there may be some differences between airplanes
i use 737-800 default, but there is no radio panel/stack, and when i press SHIFT+2... the radio become black screen..... Can u help me out of this and fixing the radio panel?
Can someone help me? Sometimes I get the ils tone, and I hear it beeping, but no glideslope appears on my pfd. Mode is set to nav, and approach is set in my default nav page-any help is appreciated
b0eing777guy it's a default. Would you mind trying it on yours and seeing if it works? One thing I might think would be causing it is that I am turning on the frequency before I am switching to nav mode. Other than that, I have absolutely no clue
I've tried messing around with the default 737's panels colours, and all i could figure out was how to change the actual panel colour, not the numbers. I know that the PMDG 737 has the white numbers and pretty much everything else the 737 has in real life, but you have to pay $70 for it. www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/product/FSX/ngx8900.html
TheGaming Cow I made this video with default everything because it's a tutorial for the default 737. I have plenty of add-ons for realism I just didn't use them for this video. thanks for watching though!
Made this video when I was 14 y/o, nearly 5 years ago, if you want an up-to-date remake a little more in depth, like this comment.

OMG, thanks to your tutorial, I have just managed to FINALLY successfully land on FSX using the ILS!!! Thank you!! :)
thank you. this was the only video i found that finally got me my first landing. thank you. seriously youre the real mvp right now lol

The landing gear on this plane is probably screaming in pain right now holy crap...
If they're still there hahaha. That's the problem with default planes and autolanding
youre the man, thanks so much, I didnt know how to operate the g/s and now I know!new sub
Thank you! I did my first ILS landing and it was very satisfying!
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for it.

suggestion for next video?

That was a damn fine tutorial, without a word spoken, The cursor did all the talking, seems
like you may be an airline pilot with that handle !
really nice and easy to understand
Dion Maniac Thanks for watching!
Thx for this video. This ia cerut helpful 😀
Very useful video, thank you.

This is not a tutorial, but a mere ILS example
Umm sir how much miles away (or metres away from the airport) are we supposed to turn on the Approch hold Switch?
Nobody has ever put a 737-800 down like that for their current employer.
Ryanair does.
Really Useful!
PS. Is this a Ryanair livery? haha
I think FSX's autoland feature was designed by Ryanair
Also I was well over max landing weight hahaha

I'll make the flight when I get a chance and see if it shows up. Might be a bug with the sim but I'll look into it
@@b0eing777guy appreciate the quick resp, sir, and look forward to your experiment result - good day.

wouldn't engaging thrust-reversers slightly out of sync cause the aircraft to spin?
Would you make the same vid using the B1-B?
Nice !
For Saftey when u hit 150-100 ft disengage autopilot for everything i only let the plane controll to that height so i can correct my flare
Thank you so much! But do i also have the possibility to fly with the nav-hold mode before reaching like 5000 feet during decent, and then start to fly with the heading hold like you did? I hope you understand what i mean :))
yes, but you have to make sure the approach button is pressed before you pass the ils, or youll just keep flying straight
should have said to lock on localizer before you gave instruction to lock on glideslope.
Auto pilot always doesnt follow the glideslope correctly in fsx
is tutorial applicable for other aircraft ? like ATR42...

The default one should have the radio-stacks.
Same with me..did you find the solution
Nice c;
Hey how do you make the flight plan magenta line lineup with runway???
you can drag the line around in the map in the flight planner. just go to your destination on the map and drag the line around to line it up
*ryanair intensifies*
That was a hard landing.
ryan andrew I know, he should have disengaged the AP when he was near the runway so that he could flare
Thomas Horsman Your the guy at jack fsx videos!
Nah, just normal Ryan Air landing
I don't have a radio stack in the default 737???
Same with me..do you have any solution

Texas Tacoma try coming in a little lower? you might be a little to high to intercept it. also make sure the frequency is set in NAV1
Texas Tacoma huh. that's really strange... maybe the plane doesn't have that it's in its database.. is it an add on airport or just default?
b0eing777guy frequency set in nav1, and I am positive I am intercepting from below. Only does it on certain airports, for example KDAL RWY31R
b0eing777guy it's a default. Would you mind trying it on yours and seeing if it works? One thing I might think would be causing it is that I am turning on the frequency before I am switching to nav mode. Other than that, I have absolutely no clue
Texas Tacoma unfortunately my fsx is currently broken but I am trying to fix it. I'll let you know if it works asap
High five im Canadian!
I would like to mod the autopilot and change digits to white instead of yellow (like the real 737NG) anyone know how to?
I've tried messing around with the default 737's panels colours, and all i could figure out was how to change the actual panel colour, not the numbers. I have fixed it by change the color codes, thanx
MD80phreak oh glad to hear that! just curious, where did you change the colour code?
It was located in autopilot(dot)xml file, under ap readouts (for each lcd display).
MD80phreak I personally like the yellow but I'll have to mess around with that I should make it pink for shits and giggles
What the hell did I do wrong? Do you have to manualy control pitch cus THIS SHIT ISNT FUCKING WORkING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn no localizer contact you
Like it to much.
But i thought you were a 777 guy not a 737 guy
180 knot, no more pal
Pity that no speaking otherwise it would have been a good video.
