Awesome! What a cool crossover! Glad to see some more Armada batreps! Keep it coming!
So hopefully your bringing back Armada batreps???
We heard you folks wanted some Armada ;)
The MOTF community sounds like an awesome idea, guys. That's super exciting!
In case you haven't seen it we've gone live with it! Check it out at motf-community.com
Armada is such a solid game.
I played it for the first time last night and I'm in love!
You guys do exist! Always good to see batreps.
Watched the whole thing and never played Armada in my life!!
Nobody can get the ships. Ben has them. Classic Ben.
Good to see it's a global "Ben" thing. We have a Ben too.
moar!!! Finaly you guys are back
Hmm. I'm not convinced by the Expert Shield Tech timing. I think it is intended to be after brace, but might be worded (as you found) to happen before. To the Rules forum!
TheGrumbleduke I know man, me too. But here’s my understanding: there are two types of total damage; total damage after the spend defense tokens step, and total damage before you take damage. Expert Shield Techs seem to activate at the first, official “total damage” step, then a brace comes in, and then Maj Derlin applies the reduction in the second “total damage” before suffering damage.
This seems to make Expert Shield Techs viable with a brace token only when your opponent rolls an odd number of total damage.
@@182Harding The problem is that Brace happens "when damage is totaled." Expert Shield Tech reduces the total damage. But you can't reduce the total damage before damage has been totalled (as there isn't a number to reduce), so the earliest EST could happen is when totalling damage - the same time as Brace (giving the defender the choice).
It's unsatisfying, as the timing on the card is "when you spend..." which happens before totalling damage (same time as evade and scatter), but I think it is the best we can do for now with a card that isn't as well-written as it could be.
“It is enormous and I love it!” That’s what she said...
Not to you tho
Could we be see an SSD vs Starhawk please. I'm glad to help with Patron if need be. By the way come visit the USA for some Star Wars Lewis Gun/WWI MG shooting fun. I'll be happy to host.
Also I wanted to add, great game! I believe now with the SSD, StarHawk an Onager.. the game would be more fun with a base 600pt game. I strongly believe the Unique ships are great but need more support to be more of a fleet game. Keep the Squadrons low as it eats time into any game. Maybe down to 20% instead of 30%. The Star hawk is basically a heavy hitting ISD, with the right cards very tough. I think it has better firing arcs than the SSD and would wreak havoc on an SSD with always being able to double arc it. The Arc angles on the Star Hawk are crazy.
any game above 400 points is already 25% squadrons
Where do you get your game mats from MOTF?
I can only purchase one of these currently, which one would you recommend
Galapagos Galaxy I mean are you Imps or Rebel main? I think the Star Hawk probably opens up more for the Rebels as the faction but the Onager’s ignition is just so cool to me.
Where's the singlet?!
I just want to know.. where the hell can I get one of those pole lights at... My house is dark as a crypt.
eBay!
I put Kyrsta on my MC30, adding brace and ECM. With Lando and Admonition that thing is damn near unkillable
OMG is that Shmittys mate Biggs?
Nope. He's GiledPallaeon.
@@motf7552 LOL He sounds exactly like him. From Steele Strategy Pod cast. And Biggs was away this week...
The Chungus!
You showed Morro instead of the actual last Imp squad...
Nice pick up!
Hooly crap dat Shara counter
Nice game! PS: am I the only one who uhm doesn't like the new ships? :S
nope, i don't like the onager, i fear it's superweapon will be a gamebreaker, it will shoot down small ships too quick and all over the board
@@andyablluxembourg8627 Extreme range evade discards 2 dice and it is limited to one ignition attack per turn. The attacks hurt, but aren't single shot kills (unless you roll some lucky dice). Once out of the special firing arc, the normal attacks are far less threatening. The onager is really best at targeting large ships, small ones can just zip around that ignition arc.
@@casonwatkins3781 i hope so, for my tiny rebel ships sake ;-)
@@casonwatkins3781 Unless, of course, you use Interdictors to cover the place with G7s and Cataclysm to get a turn 1 shot off. A total of 6 reds from Romodi and Concentrate Fire with Varnillian guaranteeing a double and anything nearby taking damage at speed 0, that's gonna maim if not kill small ships and has potential to murder even mediums. At the same time if you manage to get through my ships cannot deal with a flank behind the lines. It's hard as heck to get there but they have almost nothing for when someone gets behind them. Still, Onagers are mean and I definitely understand where you're coming from. Onager Star Destroyers especially are really hard upfront but their weakness is if you can swerve behind them.
Puncle ohhhh what a devilish combo, I’ll have to look into trying that. So far I’ve only played the onager in a single upgrade only campaign practice match. Thanks for the inspiration.
For that to work you’re opponent will need to deploy speed 0. At best I’ve inconvenienced deployment with my double interdictor lists. They always avoided the gravity well.
