If I thought I was fighting an onager and my opponent dropped an SSD id be pretty salty
Turn 6 you didn't have Vader to choke JJ. He died on the Gozanti.
Yeah that was my mistake!
@@Crabbok don't think it would have changed anything!
Those early shots from your SSD was amazing to watch. The true power of the Imperial Dreadnought unleashed. So cool
the other guy should NOT have put those small ships near the front firing arc.
From start to finish, your best game of Armada yet, that I've seen. And with the Queen of the Battlefield, SSD! Assault Prototype with Ravager is my favorite combination in the game. Often, my son will try to go small and fast to get behind my SSD, so I'm able to utilize quad battery turrets as well. Just more dicey goodness for me, lol. Your Batrep's are getting better and better. Armada on!!
Great game! I think this proves that a Starhawk cannot go head-to-head with a SSD - which is a relief to Imperial players.
The opponent’s mistake was flying directly at the SSD with all of his ships except the MC30. If he hadn’t lost the CR90 and HH at the start of Turn 2, they would’ve been into the SSD’s Aux and Rear arcs and nibbled away at it for a few turns, which probably would’ve made the difference. I know that Jerjerrod makes it tricky to approach the SSD safely, and I’m being a Monday Morning Quarterback, but the opponent should’ve been more cautious, especially with Advanced Gunnery in play.
Flying small ships into the front arc was a horrible mistake. Like literally the worst possible thing.
This is the content we want!!
It was awesome, wasn't it? Crabbok's Batrep's are getting better and better. Just need FFG to keep up with our enthusiasm and release more Armada product more quickly. I promise there are still a ton of ships to produce for both sides.
Your red dice were fire! O cant believe how many didnt have blanks! Gg, was fun to watch, thanks.
Never go across the bow of an SSD!
LOVING all the batreps lately. Keep it up, good sir.
The batrep I am waiting for! I still need to watch this after work... but I am shocked that you finaly went with a few squadrons, can't remember when was the last time that you went with any. That is a big improvement thought ^^
Some nice upgrades on that SSD. I’m definitely going to borrow some of those the next time I fly mine. I think I’ll pair it with an Interdictor to move those obstacles which would make a huge difference to the ship’s survivability..
Holy moly... your rolls were perfect! No way to survive against those godly dices! xD
Great reroll options. Good goal to aim for when choosing upgrade cards
i have waited so long for this match :-) awesome
Was a silent wish yo see the two titans against each other. Thanks Crabbok.
I wish ppl would fly small ships into my front arc.
I know, right? NOTHING more satisfying in Armada than the one shot kill!
"here are some free points, friend"
Great BR! Commander Crabbok finally brutalized the Rebel Scum! Well done :D
Great game to watch! Interesting how everyone expected the Starhawk to murder SSDs to the point where they wouldn’t be competitive anymore. Way to show them wrong!
If it had Agate I think that SSD would’ve been in trouble!
I don't understand why people think the SSD was threatened by the starhawk. The thing was literally designed to be a bossfight.
You're really good at announcing for this
That Super Star Destroyer is powerful!
Geezus, that SSD hits hard!
Hot dice on this table!
7:26 at this point isnt it too late to decide to turn the cf dial into a cf token? Doesn't this happen during the reveal dial step?
Damn SSD is rough when you set it with the right upgrades
You totally god some killer rolls @crabbok
Totally agree! He needs to take that kind of luck to Vegas!
@Crabbok: Could you please explain your choice in Commander Gherant? It seems like his only purpose was for Vader to choke for rerolls, which I understand. But you had to do that for the SSD’s first attack, otherwise you would’ve discarded Gherant anyway.
Why not choose another 2-point Officer whose ability you could’ve used, like Ozzel, Needa, or Titus? All of them are worded “you may” use their ability, so they’re optional, and then you could’ve chosen when to choke them out.
I wanted to attack squadrons first.
Crabbok OIC. So you were expecting to be attacked by squadrons for a round or two before the ships got in range - because you expected them to avoid your front arc and flank, like the MC30 did. Gherant would’ve guarded against critical effects if a bomber swarm managed to take down your shields. Interesting.
I would’ve liked to see Reeva Demesne on the SSD.
Great question!
Not sure what you had on Vernillion (sic?), but when you passed up that one die shot on Foresight you could have used the roll plus the Linked turbos to try for a better result. She really makes you want to always take your shots to build her up.
I believe I had a double at the time
I love Advanced Gunnery but with a Starhawk's strong sides, I feel like it's not as useful as some of the others. And as shown here, you can really benefit your enemy more than yourself.
Can a ship have more than 4 defense tokens (not counting Huge ships of course)? I thought 4 was the max and you had to replace if you couldn't fill an empty slot.
25:20 - Vader is dead, though.
The SSD is a monster!
Also with Advanced Gunnery could you have taken a second shot at the MC30 from your rear to his side?
Yeah we often forget that Advanced Gunnery CAN let you hit the same ship twice from the same arc, provided you can hit two different zones.
Crabbok not that it mattered much in this one, haha!
Maybe I missed something, but I thought you had to have Adv. Gunnery Team to shoot multiple times out the same Arc? Anyways a great battle!
That rebel icon on the ssd burns my eyes xD that is firepower like in ROTJ xD
its all about the dice roll
Conflicted about what ship to win
Can the ssd shoot multiple times out of the same arc?
The objective was advanced Gunnery - that's why.
I thought you had to spend the crit dice for the critical effect like APT or heavy ions. Guess I’ve been playing it wrong
No I think in the RR it says you don't spend the die result unless the upgrade card says to. Easy to misplay that
Not sure the Starhawk is going to change the Rebel meta.
First. I love the star hawk but I really want one of the Super Star Destroyer
Con: They are expensive, even on sale on Amazon. Pro: Absolute joy to play. Very forgiving if you make a tactical mistake. Crabbok always runs concentrate fire, which is cool but I always run Piett and engineering commands plus a gonzati which passes me another engineering token every round. Then you get an extra eng. token just for using an SSD...this way you can heal for days...I've destroyed my son's rebel fleet repeatedly with "just" the Command Prototype and some Tie Defender/Decimatotor squadrons. But I prefer the Assault Prototype because of all the extra attack dice you get. Best ship in the game...I love SSD so much I am saving up for a 2nd one so I can run 2 against the boy!
Nathan Neugard 😳 two hot damn. Savage lol
Never joust the SSD!
I have yet to see any batrep where the Starhawk has won the game. Is this worrying anyone besides me?
Wow. That was depressing.
BUY A SSD! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
SSD über alles
I really dislike SSD battreps, they seem way too one sided. The thing is a beast and even the new ship rebel ship doesn't seem to be a match for it.
That’s funny because I recall the SSD Batreps shortly after it was released, the SSD lost most of the time. The Rebels always avoided its front arc and got into the Aux and Rear, and often rammed it mercilessly, and defeated it.
So SSD battles aren’t one-sided. This battle just seemed one-sided because Crabbok’s dice were on fire. Great game!
No, my son has killed my SSD several times with xwing bomber spam, and a pickle on each side to divide my attacks. Is possible, just requires patience OR even better...fielding your own SSD and fighting fire with fire!
That was...ugly.
