    Can you get methyl groups production with B6 and B12 supplements ? In that case can you take NAC with a Vit B complex (a natural vitamin) rather than with Glycine?

    • @PrevMedHealth

      Methyl groups are important and related to both Glycine and B vitamins. It involves a thing called methylation. Homocysteine is a known cv risk factor. The mechanism was recently discovered to be related to methyl groups, oxidation, & the body’s inherent version of antioxidation. The short story is here: ua-cam.com/video/xsZfhEKg3XA/v-deo.htmlsi=TirN_EZ5sYCErUI7

      I would not take it because l would just take glutathione. I am not taking something that would change to something else.

    Glad to hear this. I have NAC and I use magnesium glycinate, and TMG (trimethylglycine) to use with NMN. I need all the help I can get as I am a boomer!

      When I do glycine and Nac I don't need to take my Zyrtec for allergies. So I know it's lowering Inflammation at least in my nose. Also, after taking NAC starting a couple years ago my dreams are much more vivid and usually in color.

    I’ve always thought that fiber was necessary. But I am looking at many opinions to the contrary right now. I have not changed yet.

      Dr. Brewer, respectfully, these types of comments are not helpful! Only add to the frustration in this already sometimes confusing space, with all the opposing "expert" views. Why not fully research something, then make comment, please? Or expound your thoughts...

    Btw most of the capsule material of the capsules of supplements are composed of glycine About 200mg thus your nac is already together with glycine , if packaged in the usual capsules !!

      Listen to your own body.
      Maybe try psyllium husks at least, it is low carb and promotes healthy gut flora.

    Why is NAC preferred over L-Cystein? Wouldn't taking L-Cystein in place of NAC circumvent the Methionine transition process, thus reducing the production of homocysteine?

    Hi Doctor, can you please give me an idea if 100 mg/kg body weight of GlyNac as was used in the studies, is necessary? That is a lot of capsules for a 150 lb, 85 y o geezer. And expensive. I have been taking 1 G of Glycine and 1 G of NAC for several months.

    Please do not "keep it as simple as possible." As a science oriented layman I appreciate learning about mechanisms. Others can skip the details if they choose.

      NAC and glycine aren't that expensive. I buy a 100 NAC for 12 bucks that last near three weeks. A large bottle of glycine powder that last near 5 months for $18. Take six NAC daily and 3 grms of glycine at the same time awhile before eating.

    Why not just take Glutathione?

    • @tarpara
      @tarpara 2 місяці тому

      Because taking glutathione directly bypasses natural biochemical pathways that generate glutathione. Different set of risks and more studied required
