Thank you Neil for letting kate and I be part of your UA-cam challenge. You are a true gentleman with an amazing talent, you took some incredible pictures that we will treasure forever. Can’t wait to see Part 2!
Thanks for sharing this project. For ages, I've been a 35 & 70-200 wedding photographer but last year I moved to dual R6's and picked up the 28-70 f/2. I could shoot the entire day on that alone. It's phenomenal and liberating to only need one lens.
Hello bro i have just started as a wedding photographer i have sony a7 m3 and i have 28-70 f3.5 - 5.6 and now i am a bit confused which lens to buy 35mm/85mm or should i buy tamron 70-180 f2.8 bro can you please suggest??
Thank you for this! Its refreshing to see an individual be happy with their gear and not jumping to the latest camera and making another camera review. I am new to your channel and so far I can tell you love what you have and make it work for you and that my friend is rare these days. Thank you again for sharing the art.
Thank you very much Christopher! I really appreciate that. I am always far more interested in taking images than in the camera itself, which to me is just a tool. Thank you again!
I flew over to America to shoot a relative's wedding just using a little Fuji X100V fixed 35mm lens. Everything went well, just having the one camera with its fixed lens made the day a lot easier and I shot about 4 times more than what Id usually shoot.
honestly beautiful images. it is rather unusual for a couple to pay for a second shooter, at least in my country. and having the assurance that someone else is responsible for the wedding photography, it gives you the freedom to shoot whatever you like. the result is astonishingly beautiful.
Terrific! I really enjoyed this, great you were using the one camera and lens but I loved the insight you gave into being a second photographer, that will come in very useful for me as I like to have a second photographer on a wedding shoot. I mainly ask if anyone from my camera group fancy doing it and as most are just beginner photographers, it will be really helpful to show them this. Thank you Neil for sharing what I think was a great video, I am so looking forward to seeing part 2 😁👍
Thank you very much Peter! I would hope to have it ready in the next month or so - they just take a long time to put together and it's hard when I am busy with my weddings but please watch this space!
Thanks Neil, you really do impressive work. Congratulations for passing on your knowledge. If I have a question. In the different photographs you took, in this video, do you use an LED light? at least that's what it seems. It doesn't appear to be a flash. Not if it's true or am I wrong? Thank you very much and I wish you all the best. Cheers..
Hi Juan, good question - the lights were put there by the main photographer who I was working alongside. It was very dark in the ceremony room so they worked really well
i am glad you like you sony however i have been shooting wedding for about 20 years and am very happy with my old canon it is not about the camera as it seems lean on it to help you shoot
@@NeilRedfern That's actually what I wanted to know. You agree on the way it works with me, I use the flexible point M, and then a button configured (for when I think it is convenient to use) that I press and the Eye AF is activated. Thank you very much
hay Neil, which lens you recommend for environmental wedding portrait?i hope to by tamron 17-28.but i think 20 1.8 has great image quality.the problem is ,the 20 mm wide enough?
Don't want to sound like I'm worshipping you 🤣🤣but you don't know how to take a bad pic EVEN with just one lens. Really stunning pics. Question though, when shooting from a lower angle, don't you run the risk the of "double chinning" the person???
Outstanding video sir. Well done!
Thank you very much Ken!
As always Excellent Video👌👌👌👌👌
Fantastic vlog with some incredible shots.
Thank you very much Chris!
Your work is amazing, and amazing teacher which is very important.

Hi Sean, my pleasure! Yes, I have heard great things about that lens :) using just one lens certainly frees you up creatively

Yeah these are really really good. I’ve shot events on a 35mm as the only lens as well. Those, thus far, are some of my proudest photos
SUPERB!!
Great video Neil!
Thank you very much!
Great watch Neil, when will part 2 be out?
Great vid as always! glad you are doing well!!

Hi Neil, thanks for all your insights. I seem to be missing part two of this video? Did you upload it and am I simply missing it?
My pleasure! I'm afraid I never got round to making part 2. I do have the footage for it so will hopefully put that together in the future 😀
Thanks for you film, are the lights that were on the altar to illuminate the bride and groom put on by the main photographer or by the church?
Hi Juan, good question - the lights were put there by the main photographer who I was working alongside. It was very dark in the ceremony room so they worked really well
Some great stuff as always Neil. Can I ask do you use auto ISO or are you thumbing it up and down? thanks
i am glad you like you sony however i have been shooting wedding for about 20 years and am very happy with my old canon it is not about the camera as it seems lean on it to help you shoot
Hi Neil excellent video. I don't use Lightroom, do you have a warming preset or action for photoshop. Many thanks
Hi Maurice, thank you very much! I do not have any actions for Photoshop I am afraid - only presets and masks for Lightroom
Saudações do Brasil.
very good work Neil, congratulations. I wanted to ask you on the day of the wedding what Focus area do you usually use? Thank you
Hi Dani, thank you very much! I personally use small flexible spot on my Sony A9 - which is basically single point focussing - is this what you mean?
