      how to plan a wedding clip? You've mentioned to make a list of what to shoot during the wedding, is there any golden rule or standard that should be followed? I'm a newbiew to videography hence wanting to know based on experienced videographers.=)
      Cheers,
      Joey

    I've shot about 5 weddings like this, a couple with the added risk of shooting without a cam with no record limits as I'm just starting out and dont have a big budget to work with. Talk about stressful. ha

    I'm shooting solo + only with 1 camera. Still saving up for my 2nd camera so that I can provide even more production value to my client, and spare myself some sanity.

      If you're only making short highlights films, a single camera can be perfectly adequate, if you move around to get all conceivable angles plus shoot a lot of cutaways/reactions.

    These are GREAT tips. Thanks for sharing - we might be shooting our first (pro-bono, for a family who just wants it documented) soon.

    At least 2 cameras on tripods for ceremony and dance floor at 45 degree angles from each other plus yourself roaming around with a handheld or gimballed camera--you don't need a second shooter.

    Is the wedding party at the same venue the wedding is or do you have to drive to a different location.?

    Do you find the 24mm wide enough or would something like a 18mm be better?

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  5 років тому

      In my opinion, I think the 24mm is the perfect field-of-view for a natural looking wide-angle shot! I think when you start going wider, you get more field of view, but you also start noticing the "wideness" of the focal length. But, of course, the 18mm has some use cases that the 24mm can't satisfy!

    Im shooting my first wedding soon. Its outdoor, only a maximum of 60 people. I'm shooting on a Gh5 with a 25mm (50 ff) and a 56mm (112 ff). Do you think these focal lengths would work?
    Im also stuck with the one cam dilema. My girl has a cannon i can borrow but im not sure if it shoots 4k. Any recommendations?

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  4 роки тому +1

      I’d shoot it with just your camera to make cutting easier later so you don’t have to match footage - personally I think you’ll be okay with that setup, just make sure you plan a lot ahead of time for the shots you need and the shots they want!
