Totally agree 8/10. I have always considered my personal ‘buffet’ etiquette to be the best way, and that is rather have decent portions than overloading a plate. After all, at a buffet you go back as many times as you like. Thanks for another great review Gary, as always I enjoyed giving it a go! 😆👍🏻
It’s an absolute bargain, just shows there are places that don’t fleece people for money for a decent meal. Great pleasant video, as always a pleasure to watch Gary.
Good review Gary. Restaurant looked good - nice to see the same dishes being served at lunch time rather than the usual restricted menu. 8/10 from me too.
Seriously, you can go into a busy, plastic, fast food burger/chicken type place and not get change out of £15 to eat in your car, so £13 at lunch time for a clean smart all you can eat buffet is great value, well spotted. Was that a cheeky guiness Gary? how much and was it OK?
Was quite looking forward to a sneaky bit of Thai food there at the end but you went for the ever-dependable Indian grub instead, I see. I'm glad you have the philosophy of not wanting to waste food and as people can go up as many times as they want to refill their plates, there's no need to pile it high in one go. Most of your Chinese meal looked very palatable and you got your heat fix with the Singapore Noodles and the beef. Nice one. Can't wait to see Sunday's vid!
Not really a lover of Chinese but that looked excellent, I'd just load my plate up with spare ribs, chicken wings n chips. Another super video as always 👍👍👍
Another superb buffet, the quality of the meat was great. The beef in black bean, chicken and ginger on the second plate with the Singapore noodles ... looked great 😊
The chicken curry looked as if it was due for replacement. The starters looked excellent. and the beef looked nice. Have never been to a Chinese buffet, but have had a few banguets whcih I always enjoyed. The best Chinese mean i ever had was in Machester at one of the top ones in the country. We asked them to put together a mixed meal for a set price and sat back and had a wonderful assortment of dishes. But no steamed dumplings.
*Superb and fairly reviewed Chinese buffet 🙌👍☺️👌👌* I definitely would like to go there. Feel quite certain of what I saw, looked very good. Excellent stuff. Sounds like Sunday is exciting. Looking forward to watching

Hey Gary👍a fair and honest review as always, I loved the buffet style Chinese there and the restaurant did look very clean. I thought also that the chicken curry looked a little thin but everything else looked superb to me, the price is really good considering you can return again and again to the hot plate. Very good video again! The buffet looked very nice, and I'm with you on the 8-8.5 sort of score. I value the obvious cleanliness of the place. Shame about the Chinese curry though, as it is a pretty fashionable dish at the moment, going by the frequency that you find it among supermarket ready meals these days. Also, among all of the made-up dishes that you tried, it is, actually, the easiest to make really well from scratch. Am looking forward to your Sunday instalment!
Looks good and price is not bad. It reminds me of Dragon Legend, an ayce buffet just north of Toronto, Canada. It used to be a deal especially for lunch on Tuesday. It was $14.00 (CAD) before Covid lockdown. I just checked, and holy moly, it now costs $27 for lunch Monday to Thursday! 😱 Not going there in a hurry!
Not a huge fan of Chinese cuisine, but my wife is, so sometimes I have suck it up and eat. But I always order the same, Cashew chicken with rice and spring rolls. ( 😢 With chips, I know I am doing wrong). But another great review, Gary, as always very professional, straight to the point and describing the flavours and experience perfectly! ❤️ But being in Tonbridge, you should have visited Alichay's Bakes for desert, one of the best in the UK from my point of view. Thanks for reviewing - I live in Tonbridge - have done for many years and never gone into this as I don’t normally trust all you can eat buffets but I’m now going to try it 👍
Regarding waste. I read recently of an all you can eat who will charge you extra for excess left overs (not a little). They say too much food is wasted and also costs them more to replenish, and it is ‘all you can eat’, not ‘all you can pile on your plate’ they’d rather you had less per serving , but perhaps a couple more servings. Some have criticised them. I tend to agree with them. What do you think?
Great stuff I really enjoy your videos I’m always wary of buffets! I once got terrible food poisoning in one in Soho Dodgy Prawn, lost 2 stone in about 3 days!
Interesting concept Gary but, apart from the Chinese it runs the risk of being a jack of all trades and master of none. If it can up its game it would be a great venue for families or groups with different favourite cuisines.
We have an all you can eat buffet in Bristol called Cosmo, much the same but it ranges in price depending on the day but its around £20 per person, £10 for children. Can't go wrong for £12 at lunchtime and decent. 8/10 a fair score. 19:42
I am fairly new to your videos Gary but really am enjoying them (watching for about a week).I like the way you give your honest opinion about what you are eating.

Thank you Gary or another good food review. In Basildon there is a similar resteraunt but much larger and has Chinese, Indian, Italian and English, Pitzers, and pancakes. It also has a mixtur o sweets icluding ice cteam and a chocklate fountain. All for the same fixed price, eat as much as you like. It is called Spoons.
Nice vid. And would I go there... like a shot. I've been to a bunch of these over the years. Several where there's Chinese & Thai, but never one with Indian too, interesting. After all, variety is the spice of life eh. And you're right, generally these places don't offer the absolute best you've ever had, but some get pretty close. You'll usually get a crackin' meal and such great value, they can be hard to beat. And re the curry sauce, chef just needs to throw in a tad more cornflour to thicken it up, that'd do the trick :)
There's nothing like a good quality Chinese restaurant, in Windsor high street there's two buffet style restaurants i usually pass them around lunch time and often go in to sample their deliciously freshly prepared food, they never disappoint, truly fantastic food.
@@GaryEats very well priced considering it full of tourists, £5 for a take away or £11 to eat in, would be great to see you do a review on them,1st class Chinese cuisine. 👍💯💥
Try and keep it on the plate, Gary. The starter has kicked off my drooling! Beef in black bean sauce and Singapore noodles are some of my favorites. I'm 700miles from Tonbridge. Close to where I used to live. Tops for Chinese for me. I'm 35kms from my nearest. I'd give it 9.5.
This one is well worth a try and a fairly low cost train ride from me. I see from their website that "wastage of food may be charged" which I presume is a nod to the over loaders.
my only peeve, was no dessert!! i used to go to a chinese buffet on my doorstep before the pandemic. And the deal was 9.95 euros this included as much food as you wanted inc dessert. Drinkswise, if you wanted an alcoholic drink it was extra, but coca cola, fanta, and sprite were unlimited and included. plus special meals you ordered at your table, also included. Well done again Gary for finding an affordable meal!! Shame about the central London place refusing you to film!!
I have an aversion to buffets as i never know whole long the food has been there. I also buy my crab balls and duck from my local chinese supermarket as well as the won ton which i add to soups which again i buy the base from the same supermarket. My soup costs me about 30p per portion including the added wonton now as far as im concerned thats a good deal
If I'd not eaten a good dinner a few hours ago I'd be ordering a Chinese takeaway. Another great review. I suppose this famous chef is telling all his/her friends that they are going to meet Gary Eats next week.
I think 8/10 is fair. I was predicting a 7.5/10. As always, a buffet restaurant is there to allow you to sample so many different flavours and not necessarily to stuff yourself however I guess it does go hand in hand. Thanks for the video
As soon as I saw the background, I knew it was Tonbridge castle! 🙂 I spent many a lunchtime in Tonbridge, as I went to West Kent College - 20 years ago mind! We would often frequent The Humphrey Bean at the end of term. I'll have to check out Oriental Buffet Club, when I'm next in town.
Hi Gary, back to a bright clean modern restaurant,i do hope we see more of the period buildings, the history always added something. A.Y.C.E Buffets, can be hit and miss.Timing is one key point😊 You seemed to have arrived spot on😊Again a nice clean hygienic service counter, plus points for that. The small plates are standard, and by in large we never use them properly 😢 We,seem to pile it high, forgetting we can come back😮Not sure about you,i have five or six favourite items, that to be honest, I'll pig out on😊 The moneys worth plan, and the cost of both lunchtime and evening were fair❤😊 Cheers Allan&Family
I've worked buffet and I got to take my hat off (equally old fashioned concept) to that sir. Its hard to keep up the quality without increasing costs but all of that looked great. Judging by the size of the place, when that fills up, it must be a challenge to keep things moving.
2020 world buffet here in peterborough its all you can eat it used to be Jimmy spices theres a good selection of foods to choose from drinks are expensive there
Once again I agree with you Gary. I thought for the price and quality its a really good once a weeker. The large variety available could easily see you revisit a number of times before doubling up. 8 / 10
This looked absolutely delicious. The beef and the Singapore noodles sounded exquisite. That Indian segment looked really really good. I found it really amusing that you refused the mushroom dish 😂! Thanks for this lovely review.
Gary that food looked great l think it’s a 9 out of 10 good value for money took a pint of for watery curry sauce and the dry duck much better than what I had yesterday went to 5 guys in the merry hill 30 pounds for two burgers l lot of medium fries and 2 zero cokes and it was rubbish had to throw it away 🙈
Looked like a competent buffet Gary. They are all similar, they rely on bottled sauces etc. I always avoid the duck as they are usually minced up and dry. Good solid video Gary.
Youre a bit like me. You enjoy trying different places. Im yet to try a buffet called: the taste of persia. 131 Uxbridge Rd, London W13 9AU Also a £17.95 all you can eat buffet
Another great video I loved the Chinese food review. Very good value for money. And sounds like it was pretty tasty and good quality apart from the curry which did look very watery when you was dishing it up. Big thumbs up once again 👍👍👍👍👍👍🙂
Why do restaurants offering a buffetl always use smaller plates 🤔 never been to one and never would and A fiver difference between lunc and evening as a mick take as its all the same food from the early shift 😅but overall a good review, enjoyed it ✌️ Forgot to add that they charge a fortune for crispy seaweed when it's just deep fride cabbage 😅
Gary, If a restaurant doesn't want You to film & showcase their food, it makes me suspicious that they have nothing decent to showcase 😂 On to the Chinese/Indian, i personally thought the rice & noodle dishes looked greasy, some of the main dishes looked watery, i thought the duck was dry but I'd prefer it that way, even the seaweed looked greasy... The Jalfrezi again the sauce wasn't thick, although the boiled rice did look light and fluffy... think i would have lifted the lid on everything & ate all the things that looked good! & i would still have left happy! 😊 It wasn't bad by any means, but not outstanding either... My score is 10/10 for you Gary, not the food. Excellent vlog mate 👍 Cheers 🥂
Completely agree with you Tel. That's exactly what me and the cameraman said afterwards. Really kind of you to say that mate, means a lot. Glad you liked the review if not the food!
Hi Gary, Just like Cosmo's in Reading I wonder if you went on another day the quality of the dishes would change. I'm being lazy, probably if I read the reviews below the more experienced diners would know what is consistently the best dishes. Either way it's value for money, I'd give it a go 😃. Cheers Graham

Next time im around that way i shall give that a try .Them ribs looked good and i do love the beef in black bean sauce also . Shame about the chicken curry though .Yes i would give that a go for lunch .Good review again Gary .
Great review and looked tasty, and typical of a Chinese buffet. We used to have one near where I live and we’d use it regularly, as was such good value for money. It’s always better when you get a freshly cooked batch of food. Can’t wait now for Sunday’s vlog, you tease 😂

Nice to see something different being reviewed. I like these type of videos but most nowadays seem to be cooked breakfasts and fast food. Nice change. The thin sauce with the chicken curry is what you get abroad I’ve found. We’re used to the thick sauce from tubs in the U.K.
A brilliant watch Gary. I definitely would eat there after your review. I think 8 was very fair, as all the food looked very presentable and good quality, except for the chicken curry, which actually i love, and would have been very disappointed with watery curry. The price is amazing, so fair play to them. Looking forward to the next vlog!
Wow that looked Good! We have one in Cambridge called Nines Global Buffet. I went there before Christmas, and many Dishes, I was unable to eat, as they were swimming in Fat& Grease! I would go to your place though. Have also been to Cosmo in Reading, which I enjoyed. Xx
I love Singapore noodles. There's a restaurant in Wardour Street called Wong Kei which I used to frequent many decades ago. Very cheap, yet plenty of food and delicious as well. Back then the staff were famous for their rudeness to customers, as you came in the door they would yell "what do you want, what do you want?" Singapore noodles were my favourite, they had a beef dish with rice which I liked as well. Still catching up on your past videos, Gary. All the best Tania and Chirpy!
katmandu indian just down road from that place does a good curry and the chip shop in avebury avenue best chip shop in the area, and pizzas at the foresters pub good too
The restaurant looked very clean and welcoming. The buffet was very extensive and the food looked good and obviously you enjoyed it so you did the tasting for us. I like the idea of these buffets because you can help yourself and this one had a good variety. Price was excellent and certainly an 8/10.Can i ask Gary if there were any sweet dishes - for instance a chinese sweet i like is battered banana + syrup or lychees? just curious if they had puds as well.
A lunch buffet at any restaurant in Sweden, with a minimum of three main courses (often including fresh salmon and good quality meat) served buffet, all you can eat style, a full salad bar with at least 10 choices, unlimited (non alcoholic) drink with your meal, several kinds of bread, tea or coffee and a small dessert, like a cookie, costs between 7 pounds in a small town and 10 pounds in Stockholm. The median salary is currently 4750 euros. Please, England - explain why everything is so expensive 😮 Chinese buffets are cheaper and considered very low quality, mostly frequented by teenagers. The food is also full of MSG ☹️

You'll usually get a crackin' meal and such great value, they can be hard to beat. And re the curry sauce, chef just needs to throw in a tad more cornflour to thicken it up, that'd do the trick :)
Thanks mate. Spot on!
There's nothing like a good quality Chinese restaurant, in Windsor high street there's two buffet style restaurants i usually pass them around lunch time and often go in to sample their deliciously freshly prepared food, they never disappoint, truly fantastic food.
Good to know Christian. Do you know the price of them? Thanks!
@@GaryEats very well priced considering it full of tourists, £5 for a take away or £11 to eat in, would be great to see you do a review on them,1st class Chinese cuisine. 👍💯💥
Wow, that's excellent. Do you have a name for the restaurant? I'll try to find it if not!
@GaryEats next time I'm passing through Windsor, I'll get the names and I'll let you know. 👍💯💥✨️
Brilliant!
Thank you mate, yes very annoying but it's up to them!
Used to be a class chinese buffet in Bedford. Just like that. Sadly they closed down. Good review again. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Andrew. Shame about so many places closing down. Thanks for watching!
That's fair enough Michael. Thanks for watching!
Great looking place, great looking food and a great fair price. I’d give it a solid 9 out of 10.
Very spacious inside. My kind of restaurant - have a good one!
If I'd not eaten a good dinner a few hours ago I'd be ordering a Chinese takeaway. Another great review. I suppose this famous chef is telling all his/her friends that they are going to meet Gary Eats next week.
What did you have John? Haha, it took me a lot of courage to go up to him to be honest mate. Should have asked him to subscribe!
I think 8/10 is fair. I was predicting a 7.5/10. As always, a buffet restaurant is there to allow you to sample so many different flavours and not necessarily to stuff yourself however I guess it does go hand in hand. Thanks for the video
Thank you very much for watching and commenting Gareth
As soon as I saw the background, I knew it was Tonbridge castle! 🙂
I spent many a lunchtime in Tonbridge, as I went to West Kent College - 20 years ago mind! We would often frequent The Humphrey Bean at the end of term. I'll have to check out Oriental Buffet Club, when I'm next in town.
Give it a go!
Off the charts value wise.
Superb value!
I always to try my best to go to historical venues Allan, I think it really adds to the atmosphere. Thanks!
Gary , i would definitely would go there , if I didn't live in California! Everything looked scrummy. Selection looked wonderful. Kind review. Thanks!
It was!
Looking forward to see you meeting Michel Roux!!
Shhhh Heather.. Haha.
I've worked buffet and I got to take my hat off (equally old fashioned concept) to that sir.
Its hard to keep up the quality without increasing costs but all of that looked great.
Judging by the size of the place, when that fills up, it must be a challenge to keep things moving.
Well said! The owner was very kind.
2020 world buffet here in peterborough its all you can eat it used to be Jimmy spices theres a good selection of foods to choose from drinks are expensive there
Thank you Paul!
Once again I agree with you Gary. I thought for the price and quality its a really good once a weeker.
The large variety available could easily see you revisit a number of times before doubling up.
8 / 10
It’s cheap and cheerful Nick 👌
This looked absolutely delicious. The beef and the Singapore noodles sounded exquisite. That Indian segment looked really really good. I found it really amusing that you refused the mushroom dish 😂! Thanks for this lovely review.
You're more than welcome Monica.
I'm sure that when Gary is naughty, Father Christmas puts shiitake down his stocking. :)
@@josepherhardt164I hope both you and Gary had a good Xmas 🤣🤣🤣❤️!
@@monicanath4859 Thanks. Same wishes to you! :)
Yummy 😋 love all the different selections Gary
Gary that food looked great l think it’s a 9 out of 10 good value for money took a pint of for watery curry sauce and the dry duck much better than what I had yesterday went to 5 guys in the merry hill 30 pounds for two burgers l lot of medium fries and 2 zero cokes and it was rubbish had to throw it away 🙈
Agreed Lorraine. Couldn't get more than an 8.5 for those reasons alone. Ah, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your meal last night!
Great video Gary. I would eat there although i prefer Indian food, roll on the next one cheers mate.
Looked like a competent buffet Gary. They are all similar, they rely on bottled sauces etc. I always avoid the duck as they are usually minced up and dry. Good solid video Gary.
Thank you Mike really appreciated 👍
Gary,
Another week & another 1000 subscribers 👏👏
Doing well mate!
Cheers 🍻
Cheers Tel. Means a lot mate. Thank you!
Youre a bit like me. You enjoy trying different places.
Im yet to try a buffet called: the taste of persia.
131 Uxbridge Rd, London W13 9AU
Also a £17.95 all you can eat buffet
Thank you very much. I'll note that one down my friend!
I'm not a lover of Chinese but it looked really nice thanks for bringing us this video gary
More than welcome Julie!
Another great video I loved the Chinese food review. Very good value for money. And sounds like it was pretty tasty and good quality apart from the curry which did look very watery when you was dishing it up. Big thumbs up once again 👍👍👍👍👍👍🙂
Thanks for watching!
Great review Gary i love Chinese food it looked very tasty well done 👍
Thanks so much Craig!
I like a good old Chinese buffet, miss mine it shut during COVID, this looked good, I give it an 8
Spot on!
Why do restaurants offering a buffetl always use smaller plates 🤔 never been to one and never would and A fiver difference between lunc and evening as a mick take as its all the same food from the early shift 😅but overall a good review, enjoyed it ✌️
Forgot to add that they charge a fortune for crispy seaweed when it's just deep fride cabbage 😅
My thoughts exactly Chris, it's a bit annoying. Thank you mate!
Gary,
If a restaurant doesn't want You to film & showcase their food, it makes me suspicious that they have nothing decent to showcase 😂
On to the Chinese/Indian, i personally thought the rice & noodle dishes looked greasy, some of the main dishes looked watery, i thought the duck was dry but I'd prefer it that way, even the seaweed looked greasy... The Jalfrezi again the sauce wasn't thick, although the boiled rice did look light and fluffy... think i would have lifted the lid on everything & ate all the things that looked good! & i would still have left happy! 😊
It wasn't bad by any means, but not outstanding either...
My score is 10/10 for you Gary, not the food.
Excellent vlog mate 👍
Cheers 🥂
Completely agree with you Tel. That's exactly what me and the cameraman said afterwards.
Really kind of you to say that mate, means a lot. Glad you liked the review if not the food!
@@GaryEats I forgot to mention, looking forward to seeing Sunday's vlog! They have a tough act to follow, but... I'm sure they'll give it a go.. 😂👍
The price though on the video... I'm already worried!
Hi Gary,
Just like Cosmo's in Reading I wonder if you went on another day the quality of the dishes would change. I'm being lazy, probably if I read the reviews below the more experienced diners would know what is consistently the best dishes. Either way it's value for money, I'd give it a go 😃.
Cheers
Graham
It was good value and maybe the quality could be different on another day, Graham
@@GaryEats Would you consider visiting another branch of Cosmo's as a sort of comparison?
12 x 98.90 that's not too bad anniversary between 12 and 4 at what time they open till late evening 12 till 4
That looked good for a buffet both Chinese and Indian. I would give it an 8.
Fair score!
Morning Gary Love chinese. Restaurant looks very nice and clean. Quite reasonable for what you can have. Nice selection of dishes which I like.
Great Susan!
Im not normally a fan of all you can eat buffets ,but that looked lovely ,lots of choice also . Next time im around that way i shall give that a try .Them ribs looked good and i do love the beef in black bean sauce also . Shame about the chicken curry though .Yes i would give that a go for lunch .Good review again Gary .
Thanks Lee. Enjoy it mate, can definitely recommend.
Looked very good- I'd definitely go there. Looked a great variety of dishes and all very good quality, super value for money.
Good stuff Gary.
Satay does not mean peanuts. I believe it means the meat on skewers (have been told 5 pieces)
Great review and looked tasty, and typical of a Chinese buffet. We used to have one near where I live and we’d use it regularly, as was such good value for money. It’s always better when you get a freshly cooked batch of food. Can’t wait now for Sunday’s vlog, you tease 😂
Thanks Karen! Glad you're looking forward to tomorrow's video. It's pricy, excellent and interesting all in one!
@@GaryEats Intriguing ! I thought it would be pricey if it involves a Michelin starred chef ! On the last video you mentioned you’d just finished work, I naively thought this was now your ‘job’ maybe that’s the ultimate aim
Yes! I still work. In all honesty, I just really enjoy making videos. Something that gets me away from the stresses of work which can be a hard slog at times. Thanks Karen :)
@@GaryEats oh I’ve definitely been there ! Don’t work now, and not for some time, but still suffering stress for various reasons. I’m sure the vlogs are a great escapism, particularly now your following has grown so quickly, and I’m sure it will continue to grow
Thank you. Means a lot. I hope you're okay in yourself - onwards and upwards!
Nice to see something different being reviewed. I like these type of videos but most nowadays seem to be cooked breakfasts and fast food. Nice change. The thin sauce with the chicken curry is what you get abroad I’ve found. We’re used to the thick sauce from tubs in the U.K.
Glad you enjoyed!
Blimey that looked good Gary. You could eat there once a month and never grow tired with that selection. And chips with everything!
Indeed!
I really enjoy buffets like this and it looked an amazing spread. Definitely an 8-9. Such good value for all the choice too.
Thanks so much Stephanie. All the best!
Glad you enjoyed it Scarlett. Very kind of you :) next vlog coming tomorrow!
Xx
Very nice 👍🏼
I love Singapore noodles. There's a restaurant in Wardour Street called Wong Kei which I used to frequent many decades ago. Very cheap, yet plenty of food and delicious as well. Back then the staff were famous for their rudeness to customers, as you came in the door they would yell "what do you want, what do you want?" Singapore noodles were my favourite, they had a beef dish with rice which I liked as well. Still catching up on your past videos, Gary. All the best Tania and Chirpy!
Hi Tania. Thank you and all the best.
Crikey! that looks good Gary. Chicken curry sauce was a dieters sauce, very thin.
Yes it was
Try buffet restaurants in Birmingham sir, Chinese buffet in city centre Birmingham was only £6 in 2015 but was tasty and fresh food there.
Excellent range of dishes. Pretty unusual to get stuff like duck and king prawns even on a buffet twice the price. All looked good and fresh too.
Yep. Was spot on.
Great vlog Gary, well done😊
Thanks Melvyn! 👍
katmandu indian just down road from that place does a good curry and the chip shop in avebury avenue best chip shop in the area, and pizzas at the foresters pub good too
Thanks for the recommendation mate.
There were nice looking desserts in the fridge next to us actually. So, yes they do!
Yes, sadly it’s very expensive here now
Wow that looked great wish there was a buffet restaurant like that where i live,my 2 fav takeaways in one.yum.great vid mate😎
Indeed. Thanks John!
i love chinese food we did have one or two in Leeds but sadly no more unless someone can correct me anyway a 8 out must have been pretty good
Cheers for watching all the way through Billy. Not sure how you didn't get bored of my voice!
Tonbridge is one of my fav parts of Kent, another great review mate!
Been in there many times over the years-not been in there for ages though so will def do this Spring.
I know you filmed this a while ago now but still lol
Thanks Mike! 👍
